They went under new ownership in 2020 and the owner has made some tremendous progress with improving the greens and clearing out some overgrown trees that were causing damage to the tall grass areas. I have family who plays here regularly and they offer a Turkey shoot, which is a fun scramble, just prior to closing up for the winter months. It's a great time had by all and for those who frequent the course and clubhouse, they are one big family of golfers. That was provided by the service, staff attitudes, and generally welcoming and relaxing environment. Downsides for some might be the limited breakfast buffet (which was more than enough for me but some folks mentioned it within earshot). Also, no maid service due to the COVID pandemic, although a friend said that in the past they had to bring their own linens (truly). All of a traveler's needs were available through the front desk. Great bar service by the way and PS was located close to everything I needed to see and do. This included the cart that they went in. Great course the greens are top notch and in beautiful condition. There was a sign I read when we drove up " Maine law you are prohibited to take your own alcoholic beverages in your cart". On that note I am glad we live in Florida. They paid their fees and are allowed to take the cart over to the car to get their clubs. Some courses back home this isn't the case. By far this is more convenient and user friendly. They have great facilities on site to get drinks and food. As well as clean rest rooms. On the course itself they have a restroom around the third hole. It would probably make more sense further down. Everyone that works here is very friendly and helpful. The other golfers were very nice as well. However the only other women there worked in the restaurant. So ladies if you are looking are where all the men are you can look for them here.

At 6:45 there was still enough light to wrap up the last hole but unfortunately we had only had a chance to play 13 holes so far due to extremely slow play. That is on pace for a 6 1/2 hour round. It had been just over three hours at the turn and when we commented on the slow play we were told the back nine would pick up due to fewer groups playing all 18 that day. Didn't happen. The issue, as we could tell, were the two groups of 8 players, each with four carts, playing a few holes in front of us. We passed them as we drove off the course int the last of the remaining daylight. There were two rangers in carts at the clubhouse when we started but we never saw one on the course. Great course conditions. Great layout. Terrible customer experience left me feeling ripped off.
