Many places are a bit run down or operated by large corporate chains. My experience with the bigger chains is frequent and unpredictable rate increases. Then someone recommended Smart Storage which had just opened about a month ago. AMAZING! The place is brand new, really well designed, and I appreciate that access is NOT 24/7. Currently access is 6AM -11PM. I never loved the idea of people rooting around at all hours of the night. The units are immaculate and it appears that all of the infrastructure, cameras, and access doors are the latest tech. The best part of the entire experience is the owner Steve. This is a family owned and operated business. What a difference from dealing with an anonymous corporation. Steve helped me figure out the right storage solution for my needs and made the entire experience a joy. I look forward to coming here. For the record I am not being compensated in any way for this review. After 30 years of renting various units I will say this is the best I have come across. Check it out for yourself!

When I moved into the unit a year ago, the floor was covered in dust and dirt, with about 50 screws and nails from the previous tenant. Obviously they don't clean or inspect the units prior. Both the female and male employees (likely husband and wife) are RUDE. People who have no idea how to treat paying costumers. I moved out of this place in June and will never rent space from them again. Their prices for a 10x10 unit are very high also! Go to the storage place at the Mail Shipping facility off of Hudson Drive. Very friendly there.

Deborah, the manager, was incredibly helpful, setting me up with the perfect unit for my needs. On the day we had to move, she went out of her way to be helpful and kind to my husband (who was driving the uhaul) when we ran late and had other things come up. On a stressful, emotional day, she took care of us. And when we moved OUT of storage a month later when my mom went into Assisted Living, she replied with, "I'm always happy when tenants' plans are proceeding as hoped. I feel better about our business here when I know we're helping people move forward!" How nice is that? The facility is super clean, easy to get into, bright, our heated unit was in excellent condition, and I felt the fee was reasonable. But it was the PERSONAL TOUCH that made the experience worth it. I immediately called the office (It was a Sunday and they were closed.) and informed them of the situation, asking that someone please call me back as soon as possible. No one called. A week later, I went back to Redi Storage and went into the office. They didn't care at all about the condition of their units or all of my ruined belongings, and informed me that it wasn't their problem. Now I'm out the storage fees and the cost to replace all of my furniture. Steer clear of this dirty mouse hotel. You'd be better off throwing your stuff in a dumpster now.

BEWARE OF THE RODENTS!!! I rented a large storage unit from Stop N Stow of Stow Ohio for several…read moreyears. Over that time I paid them thousands of dollars in rent. My only expectation was that my possessions would come out of the unit in the same condition that they were placed in the unit. Much of my furniture including 2 couches was destroyed! It was chewed up by mice and covered in mouse feces. I found 2 dead mice in the unit. There was never any food etc stored in my unit. I complained to the manager. He said they were not responsible and they would put out more rodent poison. I tried to file a claim with the storage insurance which Stop N Stor conveniently adds the cost to the monthly bill. I believe that cost is mandatory. The insurance does not cover rodent damage. Basically I'm screwed with uncompensated property damages and they say no one is responsible. I think they should change the rental agreement to place in big bold print at the top of the contract that your possessions can and probably will be damaged by rodents! Many people may reconsider storing their valuables there if you saw the condition of my couch.
