Parking was tight, service was awful, the nail technician MiMi pinched my fingers the entire time. She also failed to mention that the colour I selected had an up-charge, as well, she lied to me saying that she would do a design for $7 for two fingers. I also double checked to confirm if it was $7/finger or for both total. In the end it didn't matter because she charged me $30. When I tried to get in touch with the owner/manager I was told that they wouldn't come in until later in the day. That they could take a message. I called multiple times to try to get a response from the manage/owner, but to no avail. Ultimately I found this institution to be dishonest and disappointing. read more

NEW OWNERSHIP. So disgusted with this salon. They completely destroyed my hair by over-processing it. It was so damaged, hair couldn't be combed out after washings. I had massive breakage at the line where highlights end. On top of that, I paid for full thickness highlights. You can see in the pictures taken at the next salon, I was swindled with a scant partial. To top it of, I was quoted $120 and when I got to the register, it was $180. I do not recommend this salon. I haven't had a haircut for about 9 months and really needed one. I am pretty picky about who cuts my hair, because I have very thick hair and many hair stylists don't thin it enough. Tia cut my hair and she did a fantastic job! I showed her a shoulder-length haircut photo and she immediately understood what I wanted. Not only did she thin it the right amount, she also layered it exactly like the photo. The online appointment scheduling for Shears-n-Brushes is so easy too. For some other salons, you have to sign up for an account first before any appointment times are shown, and if you go through all the hoopla to sign up and don't like the appointment times, then too bad, you already gave away your name, E-mail, phone number to that salon. For Shears-n-Brushes, appointment times are displayed early on. I am now looking for opportunities to flip my hair back and forth like a supermodel...need to work on the smize though. read more

I have been going to this salon for years and never was there an issue ! It's been sometime since I have gotten my nails done so I set an appointment for manicure and pedicure! Just walking in the vibe is not the same as it was before the welcoming the hello how are you doing today ! Absolutely nothing . Manicure was OK nothing to write home about didn't massage my hands, Just put oil on them when you go. When you go for a manicure massages is ultimately the best part! . Pedicure was not relaxing at all ! I had to get her to cut extra skin around my toes twice and there was no foot scrubbing with a pumice stone she just hit the heal with the stone and done . There was no foot and calf massage, moisturizer, only the calf with oil ! I have never had this bad of an experience at this place before I was shocked, and I'm still very disappointed. I had to go home and redo my own feet and that's not what I paid $80 for.! What a waste ! read more

Have been going here religiously for this past year and I think its finally time to make a review. Honestly greeted with a friendly face every time I come in. I've pretty much have had my nails and toes done by almost everyone that works there. I get the same level of professionalism and skill from everyone that I've been with. The actual place is very clean and pleasing to the eye. I also enjoy how diverse their team is. Recently tested my last nail technician by showing her a video to do a Marble Print nail art. She worked with me and took the time to see if we could do it... And yes, she was able to! Honestly can't go anywhere right now without someone complementing on them! Since my hair dresser retired about 15 years ago, I have tried salon after salon and never got a good hair cut that I would want to go back again. Frannie is awesome, she knows how to cut my hair and style it. I have very fine hair and cow licks so if not cut correctly it is a mess. She listens to what I want and makes it happen. I am now going to try it out for my pedi and manicure as I don't seem to be able to get one that is decent no matter where I try for that. read more

I'm really upset about the experience I had today getting my nails done! For starters, I made an 11:30 am appointment and got there a little before the time and I got greeted and everything she didn't say anything else so I sat down and waited for someone to come to get me since I didn't have a certain technician. I had to wait 30 minutes and even had to say something cause people were passing me and didn't even ask if I've been helped. I made an appointment for a reason. He finally came back to get me and started to do my nails and told me he would be right back and proceeded to go to the back, when he came back he smelled like cigarettes. I was annoyed because I already had to wait a while to even go to the back and get my nails started. He was doing a good job until he started shaping my nails, I told him that I didn't want them that long because when I get them long they hurt. He said he would file them down but when I saw he was almost done I told him that I wanted them shorter because it looked like he wasn't going to make them shorter. In a very rude and condescending way, he said: "Are you serious, this is the last time I'm doing this"! That's very disrespectful when I'm paying for you to do my nails and be happy with them. I didn't say anything else after that and just let him finish my nails because I was already pissed off about that. He got to my cuticles and cut both of my thumbs to short and I ended up bleeding! He didn't even offer to get me a band-aid or anything! I haven't had my nails done in a very long time and I was debating if I even wanted to do it but after this experience, I regret doing it! I left hating my nails and regret paying the money I did for them! I give him a one because he started well but after that never having him again, or maybe not going at all! read more

I LOVE this salon. I refuse to go anywhere else. I was just in today and my nail tech was Angela and she was such a delight! She and her coworker made friendly conversation that they included me in so it waved away the awkward feeling you normally have when a stranger is touching your hands and filing away at your nails. I instantly felt comfortable as could be and was soon chatting away with her and her coworkers. The girls at this salon have a way of making you laugh. I requested coffin style nails which I felt weary to do because the last time I requested this style at a different salon they were horribly botched. She did an AMAZING job. There is a reason this salon stays busy! They are kind, work well together and listen to what their customers want! Tia has cut and colored my hair and two of my daughters hair. I am able to schedule for hair color within days of calling, which is unheard of anywhere else! My daughter drove 1 1/2 hours today to get her hair colored and left so happy with her color and the service she received and they treated my little girl who patiently waited with popcorn ;). I had a stressful week with exams and wanted to treat myself by getting my nails done. The lady did a horrible job. She didn't clean my nails or cut them. The nail polish isn't even on my nails either. When I complained about my nails being too transparent because the nail polish was cheap, she ignored me. She spent not even 5 min on my nails. I went here for the first time last week and my experience was sub-par. I asked for a full set and a pedicure. When I was asked on what exactly I wanted for my full set I showed the man (didn't get his name) a picture of what I wanted which was oval nails with a light pink/nude paint color. I chose a color and proceeded to get my nails put on. After him shaping my nails I told him I wanted them more round and not square & chunky but he kept telling me he didn't think it would look good. He was extremely rough with my nails and I'm not one to complain so I pushed through it but it was very uncomfortable. I understand he's a professional but I kept telling him I didn't like how square he was making them and he kept ignoring me. I eventually gave up because I didn't want to argue. After applying the color I noticed it was more of a Barbie pink than a nude and I asked if I could have something less bright and he said it was the color I chose. Again, I gave in because I didn't want to argue. The shape of my nails was completely not what I wanted and I was not happy with the color whatsoever. Moving onto my pedi, that was great! She was attentive and very into my pedi. It wasn't rushed at all. Only downfall was when I got home I realized she didn't paint one of my pinky toes haha! Simple mistake but kind of disappointing. I'm going to try it again because I hate only having one impression but I wish it would have been better since I've heard such great reviews. I ended up going home and reshaping and re painting my nails to what I wanted and I'm happier with my own work than his. read more
