I am EXTREMELY happy with my new hair! Many thanks to Monique Obregon for fixing my messed up hair. I had gotten a new style and cut somewhere else a few months ago but it turned out to be the worst hair I've ever had. Monique was not only able to correct the problem but gave me probably the best "new do" I've ever had! she also gave me an extra "oomph" of pizazz by adding some color. Shear Madness is an adorable, inviting little salon where I feel comfortable and not intimidated. Monique is awesome and she has been doing my hair for over 5 years. She is honest and always does exactly what I want her to do. Best of all, she understands my weird hair that often has a mind of its own! If I just want a basic trim and color--no problem. If I am feeling adventurous and want to "chop it all off" and add bold highlights, she will do it (but thankfully with a thorough consultation first). Her pricing is very reasonable which means I don't have to eat Ramen noodles for a month to have great hair. I found Monique through Yelp and gave her a call. I left a message and she called me back within the hour. She was very pleasant on the phone, as well as accommodating. She made time to see me later that day. When I got to the salon I was surprised with the small space, but thought the decor was very pleasant and in good taste. Monique was wonderful. She really listened to my needs and was very personable. She has a very kind demeanour and is soft spoken, but also very focused. I have recently returned to working full-time after being home with my kids for a few years. I wasn't always the best about getting my hair done regularly, but I always loved going to Monique when I could. I have very thick wavy hair and I don't trust just anyone to thin it out. I go to Shear Madness every 5 weeks and always have Monique do my hair. I wear a short unique hairstyle and most stylists are intimidated. They either don't put enough texture in it or are afraid to cut off too much. Monique gets it right every time! She's got a lot of great new ideas for different colors or styles. Monique is very flexible. I can call or text her and she fit me in within a day or so. I love the laid back and inviting environment, and the conversation is always great too! monique has been doing my hair for about 8 years. She's an EXELLENT stylist and i'm VERY picky about who i let do my hair. somehow, when i go in with an image of what i want done in my head... she seems to make it even better! shear madness is very small, quiet and chic. i never have to worry about having people interrupt us or getting annoyed with a bunch of people talking so loud that i can't hear my own thoughts (i've experienced that at other salons). i highly recommend both monique specifically and shear madness as a whole :) read more

This place is excellent. Parking is easy and the salon itself is very clean and pleasant. But the best thing was the haircut. I was told that this place was great and even though I couldn't tell you what she did, it is one of the best haircuts i've ever had. Other people commented on it too. The girl (Monique?) was very friendly and listened to what I wanted but mostly I just trusted her to figure it out. Excellent...all i have to say....Monique did my hair during my lunch hour, she gave me the cut i wanted and did it under 1 hour including blow dry and flat iron, what is more suprising is that she took her time and didnt rush through my hair to get me out of there....i highly recommend this salon..ask for Monique she is awesome and SUPER friendly, i will totally come back to her..but be careful i drove right past it.....going back for a keratin treatment.... read more
