The girls at Sheer Glamour are wonderful! I started going there when it first opened, and I won't go anywhere else. The salon is very beautiful and elegantly decorated. Everyone who works there is super sweet and friendly, and even though I definitely do not get my hair done as often as I should, they always remember you and know what you like done to your hair. A lot of times when I would go to get highlights touched up at other places, the hair stylist would just add new highlights, and I'd eventually just have blonde hair. That has never happened since I started going to Sheer Glamour. The girls actually touch up your highlights - not just add more. I trusted Sheer Glamour to do my wedding day hair and makeup, as did most of my giant bridal party and visiting guests. The morning of my wedding, there was at least a dozen other people who were either in my bridal party or going to my wedding getting hair and/or makeup done at the salon. Everyone looked amazing, including me - even though I cried with excitement during the ceremony and danced like crazy during my reception, none of my makeup ran or smudged, and not one hair was out of place. What was even more amazing was that my head didn't feel like a thousand pins were stabbing me, or that my hair was pulled too tight. But probably my favorite thing about the salon is its charity events. Several times a year, the salon with have cut-a-thons, feather extensions, or a number of other specials you can buy and the proceeds go to one charity or another. Personally, I love knowing that I look good and my money is going towards helping others. I just can't say enough good things about this place. I walked in for a haircut with no appointment on a weekday afternoon and waited only a few minutes before being taken back for a shampoo. The decor is cozy, yet modern with rich colors and fabrics. It was a pleasant shampoo experience and friendly stylist. She brought me to her station and asked what I wanted. I love the dressers at each stylist's station. Great idea. As always, I was unsure of specifics of the cut I wanted and just instructed her to cut a lot of length off my hair. We started with a cut that was conservatively longer than I had been thinking and when I asked her to go shorter she did so without objection or any hint of annoyance. I walked out feeling "done", didn't feel like I had overpaid for the cut/style and willing to return when the time comes to get my next cut. read more

I really love the results of my partial foil blonde highlighting! The only reason I'm not giving this salon 5 stars is because the woman who was originally supposed to do my hair asked me if I could reschedule once I came in, even though I had made an appointment in advance, which was really frustrating However, after explaining my situation (that I was on vacation and really wasn't able to come back another time), the owner offered to do my hair instead. The owner Katrina was lovely, and super accommodating. Katrina's great work made up for my original frustration. The woman who shampooed my hair and helped Katrina out was also lovely, but unfortunately I forgot to ask her for her name. Though Brandilyn is nice.. I will not be returning for eyelash extensions. October 2017 Brandilyn applied a full set of eyelash extensions. The glue administered had a strong odor, which smelt very similar to crazy glue (I don't think this was used!). This was inhaled for a hour as she applied the lashes, which did cause discomfort. The set looked good when done. However, most of the lash extensions separated from the base of my lash line within a few days. I noticed the lashes seemed to be applied in clumps as oppose to each individual eyelash. This also made it very difficult to comb through. The overall quality of the lash seemed mediocre. read more

The worst salon I've been to. Made an appointment, had to wait half an hr. Had a coloring I believe who was the manager, it came out terrible, it was not what I asked for. I wanted a deep burgundy red but I did not get that, U can only see some tint when I go out in the sun. Not to mention I had virgin hair. I went to Walmart after and bought a box and my hair came out bright and vibrant. Very disappointed CUZ I paid a lot of money for something I could've done better with a box dye. Fast forward months later silly me I decided to give them another chance to get a haircut. A blond young lady did my hair, I'm very specific with my hair , length and style. It took her less than 5 mins to cut my hair, a trim here a trim there, very disappointed CUZ i had a lot of hair to work with. I found this salon online to fix my hair , I was blond when I came in and now I have no blond accept underneath my hair .. I believe the toner was left on too long which ended up toning my highlights to dark.... The stylist who did my hair told me to wash it a few times and try using purple shampoo which I did , it did NOT CHANGE AT ALL! So I reached out to stylish, and I was completely ignored ! All that after spending 270$ for a color I did not want which was completely wrong! I've been seen by Brandi and Emily. Emily did amazing things for my friends full color and did a great job in bleaching mine. Brandi was super accommodating in my second visit and was able to make time to lighten my hair further even though I just came in for a cut. I'm very grateful that they'll take the time to make sure I'm leaving with exactly what I want. The studio is beautiful and clean, and everyone is so nice! I can't wait for my next visit!! read more

I walked in this salon to lighten up my roots . I am blonde and wanted to brighten my hair overall. I've been getting my hair done at different locations and this is the first and last time I step back in this salon. I came out looking worse than I came in. My roots looked overgrow they charge me $170.00 for 2 hour proccess of NOTHING. Very unhappy and they refuse to refund my money only try to fix it which will not be happening. read more

While the people working here were extremely polite, I wish I hadn't wasted money on it. The hair cut was messed up entirely, and despite having to get it fixed, it only looks worse. Even though I am not content with the cut, I had to pay extra because it was "designer". If this hair cut is designer I'd rather ask a stranger on the street to do my hair. Overall, the salon has a welcoming and calm atmosphere. The staff is friendly and professional, always making sure the guest is comfortable. The first time I went in, I got a trim and a blowout. Loved the way it came out. That same night I made an appointment for the "hair painting" (with the same girl). The day I went in, the hair stylist asked what I wanted as far as color and tones. I gave her an idea and she whipped up a great color. It really is beautiful and couldn't be happier. It is a tad bit pricey but you get what you pay for. And it really is good quality. This place is very unprofessional! My girlfriend goes in to get highlights with a trim and blow out and she comes home with orange hair (because the stylist forgot to use toner) needless to say she was upset. She calls back the next day bc she was upset they treat her very well and they even tell her the stylist messed up. Here's the kicker ... They made her pay for them to fix it and to add insult to injury she had to leave with her hair wet bc they wanted to charge her for another blow out. Boo you "Shear Glamour"... I'm a Master Barber and I have half a mind to call state board to check and see if there stylist are licensed in what they do bc someone who knows their job would not make a mistake like that. read more

This was my first time going to shear glamour hair salon and I left not with my desired results and an empty wallet. Although the stylist did tell me of the price before we started I figured it'll be worth it because I never get anything done for my hair and they claimed to be able to do the balayage technique. From my research, virgin hair should become lighter quicker and after the two hour process the hair painting is BARELY visible. Additionally, I do not think she did the technique properly either because after she painted it she just laid the hair on top of other hair, cross contaminating if you will. Then she told me after it was blow dried that if I want it lighter I will have to wait 6-8 weeks! What .....! I am not sure if this is accurate or if she was trying to cover her butt by saying it takes multiple treatments but that is a major rip off that I will have to pay another $220 (hair painting+gloss) to actually get the results I wanted from the start. My advice would be to double, triple check that what you want can be done in one sitting and that the stylists are highly qualified for the technique you want done. Also avoid a blow dry because that is an additional $35 PLUS the tip for the stylist and the shampooer. I am still salty that I gave the 20% tip to the stylist ...I should have stuck up for myself and only give her ten bucks. read more

OMG I have never had such a bad haircut. I went for a colour and trim. I am utterly depressed my hair will take months to recover. I am shocked. How do these people get away with it... Disgusted but what can I do. My friends say " Well it does not look so bad " they are just being kind. The owner hacked at my hair with a razor. I can see my scalp I have got extra vitamins in the hope that my hair will grow quicker and am staying in the sun so the colour fades. I'm really disappointed! I went to get touch up for my roots since have blonde highlights and have dark roots showing. They gave me Nicole to do it. I want Nicole to make my roots ash blond that will blend with my hair. She put the color and left me there sitting for long time doing other woman hair, didn't come once to check ho my color is doing. Another girl come to wash my hair and since Nicole was still busy I didn't want to wait much longer so I left with my hair wet. After got dry at home my roots were almost black! Looks like I have few month old roots showing! Worse than I start with! I went back for correction, Nicole try to light it up, now my roots are orange!! I'm really, really disappointed since I want to give them a try. I see other girls was doing good job there but I got the worse color ever!! Never again. Showed up for my appointment I made the day of with Katrina( the owner) only to be told by another stylist (instead of the front receptionist who is Katrina's sister) that she just left for some kind of emergency and that they didn't call me because they didn't take my number when I made the appointment. So because I was dropped off and without a car I agreed to have this girl do my hair with great hesitation. I had a toner done to match my roots after having highlights grow out which I have done elsewhere successfully numerous times, and instead of matching my natural color which is very light brown I ended up with a very dark brown with a hint of red. Then I go to pay and was charged 30 instead of 20 as advertised for toner because of "length and density of hair" which is laughable since I have very fine shoulder length hair. Also was charged 60 for haircut and dry, 20 more than expected to pay. To top it all off when I got home I noticed a stain the size of a fist on the back of my shirt from the dye and had dye all over my scalp and ears so had to wash my hair immediately even after just paying for a blow out. Based on other reviews they clearly have a real issue with scheduling and this place can't keep the same stylists working there either, I wonder why...... read more

This salon does not care about their customer at all. I went into this salon and told Nicole what what color I wanted my hair to be (dark ash brown) and she gave me the complete opposite! She left the bleach in my hair for over an hour (the timer was set for 30mins). She walked away doing 3 other girls hair all the the same time while she was doing my hair. My hair ended up being platinum blonde and I was totally horrified! I ended up paying 250$ for a crappy job. I called the manager Mindy and told her that I was very unsatisfied with my hair and it wasn't what I asked for. All she said "yeah that happens sometimes" no apology or offered my money back. Very rude and unprofessional. All they offered was a free toner that would darken my hair. After paying 250$ for a color that I did not ask for and a blow out it was just a waste of money. I was not even offered a free blow out as an inconvenience on their part. Never going back here again! You been warned. read more
