I went to get my hair changed back to a sandy blonde instead of the Auburn I had. The lady, Katie, was actually kind of rude when I asked her for that. I was very aware that I would have to bleach my hair, and I had actually asked for that specifically over the phone. It was $95 for bleaching my hair, $25 for toning the color to rid it of the coppery and yellow and orange tones, and another $25 for the cut. I had to actually cut out the all around color (because we got the color I wanted with just the toner) and the highlights because color would be $65 and highlights were another $95. Now I was the only one in the whole shop, and strangely I didn't sign any paperwork when I went in there. I went in, told Katie what I wanted and was sat in a chair. So she was a bit snippy when I told her what I wanted, but I tried to ignore it. She put the bleach in my hair, but because I have quite thick hair for my style of cut (a more pixie cut style) she had to make two batches, which I thought was a tiny bit odd. Then, she just walked away and I don't know if she set a timer or not, but she went and sat down. Now that wasn't bothersome because I understood that since I was the only one there, it was okay. But she started watching videos and rarely came over to check on my hair. My scalp began to itch very badly in some particular spots, but I thought it would just go away. When she came around to finally check, after what seemed like forever, she barely moved my hair around and shrugged saying it needed a few more minutes. My hair looked super white at that point and I mentioned it itched. She shrugged it off and said it was normal. Then when she finally came over and told me it was time to wash, she didn't even really check my hair again. After washing my hair about 4 times, she put the toner in, and left it for a while, I understood that, but my scalp was hurting a little for some reason, and I didn't find out until later that evening and even the next day as well. After all of this occurred, I went to work as if nothing was wrong, but I realized a particular spot of my scalp hurt badly. So I went to the bathroom and saw that there was a burned part on my scalp. There was a small patch of my head burnt. So I let my mom know when I got home, and I also told my boyfriend. I decided I would go in the next day and talk to Katie about it. The next morning, I woke up and found even more parts of my scalp were burnt, matted, and they hurt to touch them! So I called my boyfriend crying, and decided to go to talk to them about a refund. I went and talked to Katie, and she admitted that the small burns were from the "tingling" of the bleach. And then she had the audacity to say it happens because of "imbalanced hormones" my mom and dad are doctors, and anyone with common sense knows that hormones don't affect bleach and vice versa. So my mom calls the owner herself, and asks for a refund and she says no as well! The lady says I signed a paper saying I knew I was getting my hair bleached. I never signed a single paper when I was in that building. This was at the Wasilla establishment where it is supposed to be strictly professionals. Katie never went through the school at the Palmer establishment. She only apprenticed and the owner opened the Wasilla one and is rarely over there. Katie doesn't even want to do hair! I asked her if she liked it and she gave me some really snotty and rude answers! When I showed her the burns on my scalp, she looked at me unfazed and said "yeah, that was because of the bleach" I've used bleach before once and I did not have the same result! If you want to go to a Shear Fire Design, PLEASE go to the Palmer one and if she still works there, ask for Meghan. She saved my hair a few years ago when it was a disaster read more
