In preparation for my vacation I booked a perm at Seaport Salon, The stylist did a great job…read morewrapping the perm, was timely etc, she suggested the rods to use to give me a curl perm~unfortunately I rated them before I realized the perm was going to disappear a little bit after every washing, I did not realize I needed to call them within 48 hours if I had a problem with the perm, kind of hard to do that when i was told not to wash my hair for a couple days, oops the 48 hours would be up, I lost my $185 + tip and I have nothing to show for it. Beware if you go there, read the waiver they have you sign also, appears they have themsselves covered and have to do NOTHING for you to fix the problem.

I didn't feel awkward at all even though it was my first time and the girls were all very upbeat and talkative (which I love). Scheduling the appointment was easy and I did it over the phone. They have good COVID-19 procedures and the salon was clearly clean and well kept. Now for the most important part... I had gone in with hip length hair and wanted a drastic change after being in quarantine for so long. My hair is 2c wavy/curly, so I'm always pretty hesitant about letting people cut my hair, but Karatrina put me at ease by going over my style goals at the start of the appointment. I wanted shoulder length hair so it would be easier for me to manage my hair. She explained what she was doing at each point and also shared stuff about her own life. I was very comfortable and felt like I have been going to this salon for years. I ended up styling my hair myself when I got home because curly hair is just tricky to style, but she did diffuse my hair so I didn't leave with wet hair! I am more than pleased with my hair! The salon is very dark. When she was done with my hair, looked darker than I asked for but since it was dark in the salon, I decided not to say anything in front of her new client. I thought it would be better to check it out at home. She was eager to set up a new appointment but I made an excuse so I could evaluate this very expensive hair coloring. My bill with tip was $365.88. I got home and checked my hair in every light in my house. It was much darker than it was when I went in which is not at all what I asked. I asked for an icy blonde and not a brunette. I messaged her, told her I would not make another appointment and said my hair was much darker than it was before I went in. She recommended purple shampoo to help correct her mistake. I would have to spend money to fix it but this is also the same shampoo she told me while she was doing my hair that she wouldn't recommend it for my hair type (I have been told in the past not to use it). She offered to redo it for free but at this point, I lost any ounce of confidence in her. Her mistake, her bad recommendation (other colorists agree) etc. I then asked for my tip back because she truly did not deserve a penny of it. She decided to ignore me after I asked. After she ignored me, I decided to comment on her post, the one I saw to make an appointment. I stated the above with pictures. Within 5-10 minutes (not at all exaggerating) she deleted the post. She decided to post in a local private group of all beauticians etc. in kitsap and she told everyone if I made an appointment to fix her mistake, they need to cancel because I was a difficult client. She blocked anyone who defended me. This post was very hurtful since she made the mistake. I was criticized by a few of her friends who backed her and was told they back her only because she's one of them. She slandered my name, made sure no colorist would touch me to fix her mistake (or take me on as a client) in kitsap, kept 100% of the money, refused to return the tip (I didn't ask for it all, just my tip) and had her friends pm me to harass me. I had my hair japanese thermal straightened and have been trimming it out so I can enjoy my curls again . She shaped my hair, thinned it out , taught me about curl patterns , how to retrain my hair , correct salon grade products , heat products , inquired about my routine , and even talked to me about color because I was honest and told her I had thermal straightening in my hair still and the color she is seeing is blonde that I had professionally colored back to my original color .
