I had an appointment on December 17th. I was half an hour late because I couldn't find the new location since it has been a year that I don't get my lashes done. It also wasnt one of my best days either, I was having a shity day. Karina was my lash tech before and she is amazing. I am unsure if she still at Shewinks but when she did my lashes they were the bomb. This time Nuri did my eyelashes. After I went home they was already falling off and I dont think my lashes are worth $190 dollars. I understand I was 30 minutes late but a full set should be full and fluffy looking lashes. I asked for an cat eye look but it not balanced nor falls straight down how lashes suppose to look. I suggest that the new techs should show new "clients" pictures of lashes so they can have an idea of what they like. When I arrived, Nuri tells me that one of her clients is getting a retouch and it will be 30 minutes. I said im sorry about me arriving late and she said oh its your time, not mine. Mind you the client works at the place, I think she was the owner? Who knows because she brought a tree up to decorate. I wish they would had let me know that Korina no longer works at shewinks.. I am unhappy with my lashes I will upload a picture of when Korina did my lashes so you can compare! Its now December 28th and still no call to follow up with me. For background, this was my first time getting lash extensions. Before this, I've gone through a lash lift before, as well as years of glue-on lashes. She Winks was overall a great experience. I had gone after I was recommended this place by a friend. The actual process was painless. It was about 1.5 hrs for a new set, and my lash technicians were so gentle that I I'd fallen asleep through it. Contrast to what I had before with my lash lift in a previous salon where my eyes were irritated the whole time. The service was amazing. When I had gone for my appointment, the lash technician was a few minutes late, but I was still offered a courtesy discount for the trouble, which I greatly appreciated. When I had gone home after my appointment, I felt my lashes looked a bit more sparse than I had wanted, so I asked to have it touched up, and the studio was happy to help. The second time around, my lashes looked exactly how I wanted. I was also explained by the lash technicians which lashes would best suit my eyes, based on the style I wanted. The set I went with was the cashmere set. For context, I have basically no eyelashes lol, so the cashmere set was a great beginner set for me - light and natural. I have hooded eyes and a monolid on my left eye (Asian girl problems), which probably accounted for the "sparseness" after my first lash appointment. The second time around, I was told to ask for longer lashes around the outer corner of my eyes to form the little cat eye flare that I was looking for. This was my first time getting lash extensions, and I'm so happy with the way they turned out! I chose She Winks after Vogue featured them as one of the best places to get lashes in NYC and was not disappointed. My appointment started right on time, but I got there a bit early and was offered a glass of wine while I waited. The waiting room is comfy and the lady at the desk was very nice and helpful. Getting your eyelashes done should not be a painful experience. This was just that at the salon. Can't remember the name of the girl that did my eyelashes but I KNOW it wouldn't have been any better with any other technician, because when the lady at the front desk asked how my experience was and I told her it was very painful, she said because of how thick the eyepads are, it's unavoidable to get some eyelashes stuck to the pad.... Really??? That's your response?? I'm for sure NEVER going there again. My eyelashes got stuck to the pads and the technician had to rip pieces off the glue. The pads weren't the only problem, she glued my bottom lashes to the top lashes on both eyes. She was NOT gentle when she was trying to separate them...she stuck her tool in between the stuck pieces and pulled away from my face very fast, basically ripping my bottom lashes. The glue job was chunky towards the base not only because there were chunks of the pad stuck to them that she tried to hide with the black glue, but just because it was a very sloppy job. While she was separating my glued together eyelashes and getting pieces of the pad off she kept whispering "I'm sorry!"...I probably heard that at least 7 times. That's not something I want to be hearing during my experience. You're better off going to a more reputable place, the only reason I came here was because I was late to another appt somewhere else and they couldn't fit me in that same day so I was scrambling to find a place that could do my lashes within the next hour because I was going away for the holidays the next morning. I knew it was pretty sketchy that they had an opening after getting rejected at probably 30 other places, but I was desperate! read more

I went to She Winks last month for an eyebrow tint - but at the technician's suggestion, I went with a waxing too to clean up the brow area. I absolutely loved the way my eyebrows looked with the tinting. They looked much fuller. When I got back to my work office, I realized the skin under my right eyebrow was very red and raw. By the end of the night, I had a burn mark under my eyebrow. The burn eventually dried up and peeled away, leaving a slight mark, that has since faded - thankfully. I think the technician likely burned me by reapplying the warm wax again and again to the same area, which irritated my skin. Unfortunately, the tint did not last very long on my eyebrows - maybe 5 days and I will not be doing that service here again. read more

After a not so good experience with lashes elsewhere, I decided to give She winks a try based on the great reviews and photos in their social media. Although lashes are lovely, I prefer the safety of my actual eyes to be top priority vs. long lashes. I went with the mink set and they look and felt easy on my lids and gave my face such a refreshed look! My boyfriend just kept starting at me. We went on vacation and I wanted to wear minimal makeup and with luscious lashes it was so easy to go from 0-100. I have noticed some shedding and this is week one but i will update on the longevity of the lashes at the two week mark. The lash tech was informative and the overall studio is top quality. Although my eyelashes were mediocre (not as luscious as I expected and they were too symmetrical to look real) they lasted for almost a month and they didn't do any damages to my natural lashes. Honestly, my natural lashes seemed thicker after they fell off maybe because I wasn't wearing mascara and damaging them. I loved the whole experience of having my mircroblading done at She Winks. The salon to start off is so beautiful and girly. I want to live there. i didnt know a lot about the process at first but all of my questions and concerns were answered. I had my brows done by Vita and I absolutely love them!!! This place is really nice. The decor on the inside is amazing! However , I went there for eyebrow shaping and tinting and came out with two different looking eyebrows. And I'm so disappointed! I initially wanted to speak to the girl before she applied the tint. She didn't seem to be too knowledgable about it and just told me that it lasted 2 weeks. I layed down while she applied the tint and later waxed my eyebrows. There was NO shaping. All she did was put the super dark tint on and then wax around it, in small patches. Painting someone's skin with a dye to make their eyebrows look thicker is what she winks considers "reshaping"? This is SO upsetting. I came here because Instagram looked so promising. And now I look like a clown. I wouldn't recommend coming here. I will now have to wait for them to grow back in and have them reshaped else where. 50$? And I wasn't AT ALL satisfied. Madness.
