I am not a frequent lash flyer. The last time I had falsies put in, my eyes got terribly irritated from the glue and it was an all-around bad experience. But that was at a two-bit nail salon. What would it be like at a professional establishment? I decided to book a lash lift and tint at Envious. I took advantage of their very generous first-timer discount. As for the procedure itself, in general, if you are prone to anxiety or antsiness like I am, this might be a difficult process for you. Especially if this is your first time at the hands of untrained technicians. Envious will put those first time jitters to rest. I was serviced by Jasmin who was very sweet and courteous. The office itself is immaculate and classy, what one might expect of a professional high-end salon. I loved my results and it helps if you arrive knowing your expectations. A lift is not the same as a lash set. Were my results pretty and to my specifications? Yes. Was the process easy and painless? Yes. Jasmine was attentive throughout the process and let me know what she was doing. She helped me relax. All in all, the procedure was much faster than I expected. I could just lie back on the comfortable, softly-lit sofa and listen to the music. I left happy. I would definitely book a lash set with them in the future. My only criticism might be aftercare. Lashes and lash lifts for the uninitiated are costly and you want to ensure you are treating your lashes right so as not to dampen your results. If they had little pamphlets or cards to take home about lash care, it would be nice? But that is information anyone can look up online. read more

Disgraceful. I had an appointment yesterday and was not feeling well so I asked to reschedule for the next day, the front desk girl was understanding and accommodating. Today, I call again as I am more sick with a high fever and it would be unsafe for the employees as well as other clients (I guess they do not care about anyone's wellbeing?) and ask if it's ok to reschedule stating I will call Monday to confirm their availability, the front desk person essentially says 'absolutely no problem' and then about ten minutes later I receive a text that I will be charged $75 for cancellation and they want to know if I'd like to use my rewards points towards the fee after being given direction from the owner.. you're joking right? After responding explaining that was not mentioned on the call and that I quite literally asked to reschedule, I never even asked to cancel -- my card was outright charged the fee. No phone call, resolution, anything. Seriously UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE, AND INCOMPETENT. I wondered why it's always empty but now I know why. Super disappointing as I really wanted to like this place after a few visits. Do not go here, there are much better salons that actually care about their clients and retention. The technician mocked my cancer patient father, refused to wear a mask, then gaslit me. Below is the equally callous exchange with the company. Shameful. I received a lash tint and lift with Ondria at 11:30 am and wanted to share my experience with you and reach some kind of resolution. I arrived for my appointment in a mask and as she began the treatment, I explained that I was staying with my father who had cancer and was being very Covid cautious. She laughed and said "it's so funny - people with cancer who are cautious and who aren't." I was alarmed at such a callous response, one tinged, even, with ridicule. I asked if there were masks available she could wear. She said no. I told her I had a fresh, plastic wrapped mask with me, but she refused that too. "You're fine," she told me. I repeated my concerns and she said "I'm not sick." I told her asymptomatic people are responsible for most Covid transmissions. She told me, again, "you're fine." I was not fine, nor was I prepared to have to spontaneously defend myself, my health, and my boundaries. She should have either accommodated my request or rebooked me with someone who would, instead of compromising my safety and then gaslighting me. At the end of the treatment, she followed me to the counter and watched as I paid, and I felt, despite my deep discomfort, obligated to tell her it was great and to tip her. Add to this the fact that the results of the lift and tint are underwhelming at best, I'm shocked and disappointed by every aspect of this encounter. Before sharing this experience beyond this email, I wanted to give you the opportunity to clarify if this was an anomaly, or is in fact demonstrative of the ethos of your company, and to ask you to make this right. If this is behavior you stand by, I think people should know that they are walking into a space where their needs and safety are not a priority (and even mocked). I'd like a full refund. You say you invite clients to communicate their safety preferences, but what happens after they communicate them? You ignore, gaslight, and disrespect them? Your deflection and your snide tone regarding my response in the office lacks the compassion and concern I would have expected from my grievance, but remains in line with and corroborates my initial experience in your salon. I'd like that refund. Alice I just received the refund for only the tip. 44 dollars as an attempt to compensate for ridiculing a cancer patient and jeopardizing the safety of a client is laughable. Do NOT come here. I've been getting lash extensions here for 3 years and it's gone completely downhill (see nine last 1 star reviews). My natural lashes are coming out in clumps (see picture) and I am missing half of my natural eyelashes which is NOT normal. Jill was my technician and she did not glue one extension per lash and, instead, glued clumps of fake lashes with my real ones - and now I'm bald. I emailed them (panicked) and they claimed it was my "aftercare" -- but that's wrong bc I wash my lashes with baby shampoo and qtips 2x's a day and have been getting lash extensions every 2 months regularly for over 10 years and have NEVER had this issue. There were clumps of hard glue on my lash line and when I closed my eyes it stung. This was not normal. I also HATE that they wanted to blame me for THEIR CLEAR MISTAKE and wouldn't back down. Please don't go here. It's the worst. Their response to my concern did me over the edge. Save yourself - there are better places that are half the price. It's absurd. RESPONSE TO THE BELOW REPLY FROM THE BUSINESS OWNER: As I mentioned in my initial email to you, I told you that I was sailing in a remote region in Turkey for two weeks and had zero reception -- and frankly, I don't want to waste my vacation discussing this with you. Maybe if you spent more time taking accountability rather than blaming your long time customers -- you'd have better reviews (the last NINE reviews were 1 star, can you explain that?). Also - in your response to my initial email, you told me to wash it with baby soap -- I already do that every morning/night since I had my lashes done. **AWFUL EXPERIENCE, MISTREATMENT FROM STAFF. PLEASE READ!!** I went to an eyelash lift and eyebrow lamination appointment on Thursday Feb. 10th at 5pm. The front desk lady that day was really nice, she explained how the procedure was going to look like, all fine. I go to the lady that was doing the procedure, and she was nice at first but I started to get uncomfortable because she kept mentioning, while working on my eyelashes, that they were difficult to lift and they did in fact not lift (see photo attached). I spent over $100 dollars and left the place unsatisfied with the service. I know should have said something right there, but because I felt bad and wanted to respect the time she invested I decided to wait a couple of hours and see if anything would change. Before leaving, the lady said explicitly said I COULD WASH MY FACE that same day, and when I went to the front desk, the lady told me I COULDN'T WASH IT for 24 hrs. I told her that I was told I could by the technician, and the front desk lady (alarmed) said and I quote: "WHY WOULD SHE TELL YOU TO WASH YOUR FACE? SHE KNOWS YOU HAVE TO WAIT 24 HOURS, PLEASE DO NOT DO IT UNTIL TOMORROW". I was already getting a bad feeling, but I thought it was just me. The next day comes and I see nothing has changed on my eyelashes so I call first thing in the AM and talk to a DIFFERENT front desk lady. At first, we had agreed on booking a new appointment so I could get it fixed but I was concerned about putting those chemicals on my eyelashes again because it's a sensitive area, but since I liked my brows procedure, and I COULDN'T GET A REFUND, I asked for a credit that I could use towards my brow lamination next time. Long story short: they said NO. I stopped by the place on 42nd that same day to show the front desk lady my eyelashes and to see for herself that the work was NOT DONE AT ALL. And what did I receive from her AND the manager? Pure rudeness and mistreatment. I was nothing but polite to them and they were treating me with 0 respect. I was so frustrated I started crying (It was my birthday the next and I had really made an effort to save up to come to this place) but they showed zero empathy, and forcefully kicked me out of the place "because I was disturbing the customers" with my crying. All I'm going to say is that I am still frustrated not only because I WASTED my money but because of the POOR SERVICE they gave me. I was very calm throughout the whole situation and was willing to find a solution, but they did not want to deal with me at all so they simply dismissed me. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL - their staff needs a customer service course. I hope this feedback helps them make better decisions when hiring people. Do not go here!!!! I came in for a lash lift and tint. This was my first time doing this procedure, which I mentioned to the stylist. Ultimately, my lashes looked curled immediately after the process. However, after a couple of days, my lashes no longer looked any different. I called back and shared my concerns. They told me to come in to have the procedure corrected. After, I shared photos - so it was undeniable that the procedure was not done well. I did my research after coming in and realized that because I wanted to get lash extensions in the next few weeks - I would not be able to have my lashes lifted again. I shared this information with the stylist once I got there and she agreed. The manager then offered me 20% off my lash extensions in the next few weeks (only because I asked and she was rude about it). I decided to email them and ask for a refund a few weeks ahead of my lash extension appointment because I could no longer travel to their location. Their email conversation with me was unprofessional and they were unaccommodating. Ultimately, they refunded me 20% of a $180 service. Their service is unacceptable and the work they do is not good either! Don't do it to yourself! read more

I'm torn about what type of review to give. TL;DR: First stylist was bad and second stylist was amazing. One deserves 1 star and the other deserves 5. The first two times I went, I got my lashes done by Gillian and she did not do a great job. My lashes only really lasted a week and then after that they fell off. The second time, the lashes fell out of my right eye within days. When I called they said they would only help me within 48 hours and mine had been 72. After that, I scheduled an appointment with Melody. When she looked at my eyes, she didn't even think I had lashes done because they were essentially all gone after two weeks. She was absolutely wonderful, gave me a great look, and it's been two and a half weeks and they're still mostly there. I would 100 percent recommend Melody and if I had only gone to her this would be a five-star review. I can't wait to go back to Melody. read more

I've been a few times, and I had a good experience the first time, but yesterday I went in and the technician told me that I had booked volume lashes but had gotten classic lashes the last time I was in. She asked if I'd like to stick with what I had the last time. I said sure! She told me she'd let them know to not charge me for the volume lash. I got the classic lashes and left. When my receipt got emailed to me I realized I'd been charged for the volume lash, so I emailed Envious Lashes. They just called me to let me know they will not make a price adjustment or refund-- so I paid for a service I didn't get. I basically paid more for less lashes. Then they called me to tell me that it was my fault and they would be doing absolutely nothing for me. I get it, this place is nice, they have fancy clients, but I won't be going back and I will tell my friends to steer clear too. Really shitty customer experience, I get the sense you only matter there if you're an influencer. Charging someone for something that you don't actually deliver them isn't a thing-- if I had more time, I'd push back harder. Just really doesn't sit well with me. read more

This was my first experience getting extensions ever. When I got there the lady said that she couldn't do my lashes because they were over processed. These are my natural lashes. I rarely wear mascara, so they weren't over processed, whatever that meant. It turns out the issue was my natural lashes were too curly for her liking. Another technician tried to do my lashes since the other girl couldn't but her boss-Clementina texted her and told her not to do my lashes. What all the drama was about was beyond me. A lovely respite from the hustle and bustle of Grand Central Station, just below. Called & made a same day appointment, booked with my cc and 2 hours later I was relaxing in the blue recliner. My tech was professional and very sweet. The location is STUNNING, brand spanking new, marble everywhere and glam. I'm so, so, SO glad that I finally went to Envious Lashes! I was a loyal customer at JJ Lashes Midtown for a few years. My first extension experience was with Lash Forever (good & inexpensive, didn't last as long as I'd have liked). Then I JJ Lashes was recommended and I went there for years and loved it. I wanted to give my lashes a "break", so I'd been without extensions for close to a year. My lashes were just little stubs after the last of my extensions fell off (naturally). I used Latisse to get them growing, but they never reached the glamorous length that I had with my extensions. I originally booked an appointment for a keratin lift/tint, but changed my mind the morning of the appointment. Everyone was so friendly, professional and accommodating. I was told that my stylist was booked back to back, so she could do extensions, but didn't have time for a full Envious (100 +) set, so I got a starter set. That was fine. Ciara was extremely friendly & professional. Gentle hand, too. I told her that I'd been an extension wearer for years, so she gave me only brief instructions, without being condescending. I am very happy with the results. I went back today for an "upgrade", since I wanted a fuller set and the lovely technician, Tyesha C. She's pregnant and today was her last day, so I feel lucky to have met her. She did another GREAT job. I was only charged for the difference between the 2 sets. LOVED THAT! The prices are beyond fair and the customer service is extraordinary. The salon is stunning, clean & smells GREAT (I don't know why that's important to me, but it is :-) ). I got a fabulous goodie bag for my first visit, too. I love this place and recommend it to anyone looking for lash extensions. I have truly never left a negative review in my life, and have waited over 4 months for a resolution on my issue to do so but have been left without a choice. I went to Envious Lashes before a trip. After waiting for 20 minutes past my appointment time, I registered a few red flags -- the eyelash applier was eating a meal at my station and was maskless. After I finished my service, the applier showed me how to brush my lashes, touching the brush directly with her hands and proceeding to poke me with it directly in the eye. I have photos that show my eyes were perfectly white before the service was rendered. Immediately after, they were extremely red, swollen, and itchy. This continued to worsen, eventually becoming so bad that my eyes were crusted shut. I had to consult multiple doctors on my trip, and was diagnosed with a bacterial eye infection as a result of the service. When I informed Envious Lashes and requested a refund for the service, (ignoring the additional $200 I had to spend on doctor's bills), but they refused. They even denied that our call had occurred, despite me having the phone log and the Facebook messages I had sent. This establishment is unclean and unprofessional - please save yourself the exorbitant cost and anguish. read more

This was my second attempt at getting lash extensions. The first one was pretty underwhelming and the person doing them never even asked me what I wanted before I started. So, I thought it was a one stop shop kind of situation... That is until a friend who looked fabulous told me about this place. Everything about this experience was first rate. Tina was my technition/stylist/goddess and she was incredible!! The place has a fantastic vibe, is very clean and very impressive. No crammed little rooms. I had to cancel last minute due to an unforeseen work obligation. Just like everyone at this shop, I also have a job. That said, I completely understood the cancellation policy, was very apologetic and understanding of the consequences. But a cancellation policy that charges for the full job? Nope. Things happen. Such is life. This was my first time scheduling at this space. When I explained to the lady on the phone (who btw was lovely) that I had to stay late at work, I could tell she tried her best to accomodate me. However, when she spoke to the owner, not only did the owner do NOTHING, but she didn't even offer an alternative solution. Hey Envious Lashes, please note I would have GLADLY rescheduled my appointment had that been a choice offered. Luckily, my CC company was able to work out the finances with this establishement, but not before i received an email that said i'm not allowed to book with them ever again. I went here to get my lashes done for my wedding because this salon came highly recommended. They gave me an appointment with someone that was brand new, which should have been my first sign to be skeptical and ask for someone else since I told them when I booked it that this was for my wedding. It took her a LOT of time to do the set, and when I finally looked in the mirror, my eyes were totally uneven and not what I asked for. Another technician who agreed that they looked terrible suggested I show the owner, who also agreed that she hadn't done them well and made suggestion on how to fix them. This had to happened three times going back and forth for the owner to make comments and suggestions. I was there for 6 hours!!! And still left unhappy with how my lashes turned out...but I didn't have the time to get them redone or removed since our family already started arriving in town for the weekend. After all this, they still had the audacity to charge me close to $500. I will NEVER go back there again...and suggest you don't either. read more

Went there for a service and saw they had a waiver for you to sign releasing all of their employees and facility from anything. So if they poke you in the eye you can't do nothing. Never been in a situation where I had to sign a waiver for lashes. So manager rude as can be comes out and says you don't have to explain anything to me I can tell you are problematic and don't come here again. Was that necessary? I was there last July 31 for the second time and my eyelashes was done by Ciara. And I have to say that I'm completely dissatisfied with her job. First of all my right eye just keep burning the whole time and did very little about it. And now my right eye feels like there is always something inside like there's something poking in there and I've been having my eyelashes done for a few years and nothing like this happened. I went here to do keratin treatment with lift and tint for the top lashes and tint on bottom lashes. The place looks very nice and inviting. From the minute I walked in I was greeted very nicely. My technician came for me very fast which it was nice. Unfortunately as I had stated on my waiver this was my first time doing this procedure. I would had appreciated if the technician would had carefully explained the procedures to me. Instead I was told to put my thing to the side and lay down. Although she was very very nice through out the process, (for her kindness i would give her a 4 star). I was very unsure of what was being done. Nonetheless an hour and a half later she was done. I must say I was expecting my top lashes to look longer as if I had mascara on but I was told to wait the 24 hours and once I wash them they will look more flare. So let's wait and until tomorrow night. As for the bottom lash tint. It was a waste of money. I walked out of there as if I did absolutely nothing. This is why my low star rating To say the least I would not be doing this procedure again. I went in for eyelash extensions. I told the lady Lana I wanted long lashes and the cat eye look. Everything went well...until I looked in the mirror. It looked no different than my natural eyelashes. She later lied to the owner and said I asked for natural eyelashes; why would you charge me for the diva glamour set then? Therefore, I complained and told the owner and Lana I'm not paying extra. They wanted me to pay more when I already paid $250 for nothing. I can go anywhere else including cheap places and get them longer. My usual place is Eye design by Nadia but they were all booked. The owner took my words and continue to drag the conversation with other clients there. She was completely immature and petty. The entire time Lana was doing my lashes the owner was talking about me as if I wasn't even there. She kept going off and off and just making me feel uncomfortable. It was no where near classy or what someone with an education would have done (considering she worked for Super models and she is this well known person). First let me start by saying that I went here because of two positive reviews. The salon is very nice when you walk in and immaculately clean. The owner Clemmy is very nice and from what I can tell very skilled. My experience at the salon was this.... Camille did my lashes and pinched me the entire time. My eyes constantly watered. The next day I couldn't even blink my eyes because they hurt so badly and I did not have nearly enough lashes. I called Clemmy and she was willing to have me come in and add more lashes however, it was not with her, it was with Camille. I didn't go to the appointment.. What was the point? I had the same experience as Donna J and JK. I explained this to the owner. I was assured the pain was normal and that I had done it to myself by "opening my eyes" during the process and because my natural lashes were too thin. I wanted dramatic cat eyelashes for my destination wedding in Italy. The lashes did not have the correct shape and looked big and fake. I said dramatic cat eye like Kim K, not just big and fake looking. This was after the first set of emails where I complained of pain. Foolishly I went back and it was indeed the same treatment. I don't need defensiveness. I have a right to complain about paying for a product I did not receive. I paid hundreds of dollars for lashes for my wedding and had to pull them off myself on the plane ride to Italy because they hurt so bad. And then I get a rude defensive email in response to my very valid complaint. Beyond unnecessary. Thank you for your time, Danielle Clementina Richardson Hello Danielle the lashes that you are showing me are volume lashes there is nothing unusual about what they look like when they come Off. They will shed the same way they were applied.. Those are not clumped together from the adhesive. When you booked your set you requested the most dramatic set possible... In order to achieve that look a volume lash 6D application was applied. If you had gotten the traditional classic application (one strand to one strand) your set would have looked no where near the volume that was achieved. Your natural lashes are very short and lacking natural volume. After you return for the second I myself examined your set to see what the problem was. After my inspection I found 2 areas on the entire lash line where the lashes were kissing and touching the skin. FYI you have well over 600 lashes applied per eye and your natural volume is about 90 or so. To be honest I was expecting the entire lash line to be clumped together after reading your email. I offered you a partial refund before I made the inspection. My decision would have been different but I am a women of my word. I issued you a partial refund because you had to travel back for the minor correction that you thought was a massive problem. I have been lashing for 9 years professionally and from my experience lashes that are very painful contain massive amounts of glue and stay on forever. I did not find that to be the case. While Lana worked on you i stood over her and watched to insure that there will not be a problem. Also Lana has been with me for almost a year and has worked on hundreds of clients. The one that complained about the painful application is the one like yourself, kept opening her eyes during the application. This was the first time in my lashing career that I have ever issued any sort of refund and to be honest it will be the last. I will not be issuing a full refund as I have been more than accommodating even working on you, myself for the removal... On a last note we do not have problems with our lashes falling off after only a few days. It's the opposite here at Envious Lashes the hold is so great clients wait to long to return for a refill. If you had followed my custom post care instructions your hold will be excellent. You also came in with a full face of makeup which I am sure is difficult to remove without getting them wet. A 6d lashes or a lash shedding one a day or so is normal. FYI Lana does my lashes. Our clients return after 2-3 weeks with 50-80% of the extensions Lashes falling off in a few dadays is unheard off. I just called and asked them what the price of a fill in was and they said a volume fill in for 2 weeks is $130 and for 3 weeks $210. These people think they are goddesses. Total rip off. There are other places that charge the normal price $100 for a fill in. These people are absolutely crazy to think someone will pay $210 for a fill!! California charges $90-$100 for a fill. Good Luck! I will take my business elsewhere! read more
