If you don't condone racist behavior, take your business elsewhere!…read more Yesterday we had lunch there and went to use the restroom. The racist old lady cashier came to us and we had this following conversation: Racist: May I help you? I: No, we are just waiting for the restroom. Racist: You can use the porta potty outside, this is for paying customers only! (She was passive aggressive! If it was about enforcing store policy instead of her racial bias, she could have simply asked if we are paying customers but no she assumed we are not!!!) I: How do you know we are not paying customers! Racist: I don't remember you buying! I: Interesting we are the only non-white people here and you specifically only forgot us! Are you racially profiling? Later when I showed her my credit card transaction instead of apologizing she shifted the goalpost and said: Racist: Oh! I remember you bought food like 2 hours ago! What are you still doing here! I: Can you see there is a timestamp in the credit card transaction? (It was 40 mins, we straight went for the restroom after having the food. They took 15 mins to give the sub. So we got basically only 25 mins!)

As soon as we drove past, I told my husband "Man we should've gone there instead!". It looks so nice and big from the road. That night, we took a moose watching tour. They stop for a bathroom break halfway through and this is the gas station they stopped in. The workers were really kind and fully prepared to handle the swarm of 50+ people all filing in at once. They have clean restrooms, a lot of snack and beverage options, and some good NH souvenirs. I definitely think this is the best option for a gas station within a few hours drive.

Willey's also has kitchenware, outdoor clothes / gear, grocery, deli, wine & beer and little bit of everything else too like toys, postcards and souvenirs. They are the largest country store I've seen in VT and Willey's takes up a big chunk of downtown Greensboro. In fact, I only saw one other shop here....so downtown Greensboro is mostly Willey's. They seem to take up 2 very old (100+ years) houses. If you are visiting rural NE K for other destinations, Willey's is a likely stop for local brews, cheeses, gears or sustenance. Parking is free. Real general stores don't seem to exist outside of few states now. Though Willey's is an institution, they are very different from many I've been in VT. Do hope Willey's keeps the charm of rural VT country stores and people continue to visit and keep them in business!

There were two staff on-site. One was very polite, the other skimmed $20 off the money I gave her (I'm absolutely certain I gave her the amount I did because I had taken it out of the ATM next door 5 minutes earlier and then counted aloud to my toddler [teachable moment] the amount I gave her). I had no other cash other than I withdrew so math was basically the proof. It's unfortunate. Dishonest staff will kill a business when the competitors a two minute drive away.
