I called Shawn's Electric this morning since half of my house became without power. They explained they were on a job for the day but would contact me later. At 3:30 p.m., they called and Luke and Shawn came to the house within five minutes. They found the problem within 10 minutes and fixed it. They were kind, professional, very fair and reasonable in pricing. I am so glad I called them and will definitely call them in the future with any electrical problems. In response to Shawn's Electric reply: Let me be clear, I had no problem with the work done nor did I mention that there was a problem with the quality, even-though the tech installed one of my exposed cover plates crooked. I didn't even mention that I spent over $800(after 10% discount) to have 2 coaxial cable jacks installed because I had to have it done at the time(not including the $244 light switch). My only complaint was that I felt that I was definitely overcharged for the replacing of a light switch($244). I understand your need to defend against my unsatisfactory review but please be accurate in the description of my complaint. And to be accurate for the public, when the Tech initially came by to assess the work so that he could provide us a quote for the job, he understood that he was supposed to provide us two quotes for which one was to include installing a new light switch in which he would need to run wires to an adjacent switch(wires, holes, attic entry required), and then a quote for putting in a master switch in place of the toggle switch which has a wireless remote switch to place on the wall( no wires, no holes, simple replace). later that evening I received the two quotes to base my decision from and neither of the quotes had a $244 switch, only a listing for the more extensive work and also a listing to replace a 3-way switch for $55 (parts included). From those quotes my wife and I decided to only do what I thought was the least expensive and less tedious of the two options when referring to the switches. I then responded to one of those two quotes notifying him that we only wanted two coaxial cable outlets installed, one ethernet line and the remote light switch. Again neither of the two quotes received had a quote for a $244 light switch, we only discussed scheduling after that. After the work was completed and the payment was required is when I was surprised by the amount, the Tech mention that he later sent a follow on quote with the $244 and he thought I saw it. I paid as you already know but continued to research and review our chain of conversation to make sure that I didn't mistakingly agree to that price. Our email chain indicates that my scheduling the work was attached to Quote #72 which does not have a $244 quote listed.... I still have the emails if you wish to see them. Again, please be honest. Also being the owner of a small business I recommend that you try to resolve issues personally with your customers oppose to only allowing the tech to speak on your behalf. Your Tech being sarcastic and disrespectful when trying to resolve the situation truly only made the situation worse. It also didn't help that we tried to resolve the issue with you the owner but kept being pushed to the Tech and having him contact us to resolve when we specifically requested that you contact us via email and phone calls. I see that you sent us a $50 gift card but we did not request that nor agreed to that amount. We paid you $244 for a light switch that cost $60 which means your labor rate to replace that switch was $180 for less than 10 mins your $50 gift card solution is not a fix... And the "Smart Switch programming"or pairing of the wireless switch is not as challenging as you make it sound but I'm not surprised at this point of you trying to justify the hike in the cost. And finally, please stop offering me additional money outside of the $50 for me to remove the post, I will not. You have already removed my review from your Facebook page, so be happy with that. read more
