They have a pita bread oven which you can see a person making it fresh. Service for a weekday around 4 pm is slow!!! I couldn't believe I waited, stood there, eyed them for around 20 minutes for a lamb saj (wrap). Two guys and a lady were working at the time. And then came a third guy which I was a bit annoyed at - over the counter and no mask on. I saw him go behind the kitchen twice hoping he forgot and realized his mask. Nope!! Trying to please me, they gave me free bread and some fries. I was still not happy for the long wait. The worse, was when they called numbers that were ordered after me! Like 3 customers!! What?!? Did they forget my order within 5 minutes?!? Not a happy squirrel. I ate it at home. The lamb saj was good but the sauce became overwhelming. And I later realized that the French fries were too much for my sensitive tummy. It must be the oil they used (my assumption). Verdict: No I wouldn't go back. Even a burrito is made fresh and faster than them. But apparently they will get business from their local peers.

I ordered the chicken shawarma dinner plate and man was it huge. They really pack in the food in those containers so it's perfect for those who are hungry. The chicken was good and all the ingredients in the salad were great as well. The only ingredient that I liked less was the rice that for some reason tastes really bland. The place has some seating if you prefer to dine in otherwise it's a great spot for takeout. Worth a try if you are in the area for some shawarma.

Lately, I've been on a mission to find the best shawarma in the city. After asking around online…read moreand reading a ton of recommendations, Two Brothers kept popping up, so I finally decided to give it a shot--and wow, I wasn't disappointed! First off, the garlic sauce is chef's kiss. Creamy, flavorful, and just the right amount of garlicky goodness. The chicken was juicy and perfectly seasoned (dry chicken is the ultimate dealbreaker for me, so this was a big win). Portion sizes were solid--enough to leave you full but not overstuffed--and everything was packed with flavour. I also treated myself to their in-house baklava, and let me just say, it was phenomenal. Perfectly flaky, not overly sweet, and with that satisfying crunch and sticky syrupy finish that makes baklava so irresistible. Honestly, it's worth a trip just for that. That said, I'll admit my usual order--a chicken shawarma salad--isn't exactly the gold standard for judging a shawarma spot. But even so, they absolutely delivered. Next time, I'm planning to go all-in with a proper plate to get the full experience. The only downside? I wish they were closer to where I live so I could grab their shawarma more often. If you're in the area, don't hesitate to give them a try--you won't regret it! For me, Two Brothers has earned a spot near the top of my shawarma list.

When we got there, we were left unattended for about 8 minutes or so with no one else in line. I get it, covid 19 times means lots of orders to attend to, no biggie. We placed our orders for 2 chicken shawarma plates. It turned out they charge a small fee for using credit cards. I'm not sure if this was something this establishment was doing prior to covid 19 since this was my first visit but you would think amidst this pandemic that a restaurant would discourage the use of cash altogether, but not this place. Mind you, the fee wasn't anything big but it was the principle that matters. Anyway, the food itself wasn't all that good. The chicken was dry, the potatoes were hard, the rice had this buttery taste and their version of the white garlic sauce was something out of a ranch salad dressing bottle. Also, the hot sauce they provided was from the Red Rooster bottles you would find in Asian grocery stores. I've never ever had this kind of hot sauce from a shawarma joint, lol. Definitely not coming back to this one!

The potatoes are okay but a little on the dry side. The chicken shawarma and lamb shish kebab came with a generous amount of meat and we were happy. The meals came with a hot sauce (small size) and a white creamy sauce (big size). I enjoyed the sauce but we ended up squeezing some lemon juice on our lamb to minimize the gamey taste. There was also salads that came along with the meals. I would say the chicken shawarma was better than the lamb. I think we probably would head back next time.

Please take my review into consideration knowing that I haven't been there in at least 15 years…read more That said, I feel like I owe this restaurant a review because it was such a big part of my life and holds so many wonderful memories for me. When I moved to Canada in 1995, this restaurant was within walking distance of my sister's apartment, so we ate there all the time. Back then, if I remember correctly, they had a buffet for around $15 per person, and it was an incredible value. The food was always fresh, delicious, and plentiful. This restaurant became part of many chapters of my life. When I got married, I brought my husband and his family there because I wanted them to experience the food I loved so much. Later, when I had my children, it became one of the places we would visit whenever we were in Mississauga. At one point, we even lived in Mississauga for about a year and a half, and if we couldn't make it to the restaurant, we would order takeout instead. The amazing thing was that the food was just as delicious at home as it was in the restaurant. The restaurant itself wasn't huge or fancy. It was simple, comfortable, and focused on what mattered most--the food. The staff were always welcoming, and everything seemed to run smoothly. To this day, the lentil soup and the kibbeh are stuck in my head. I honestly think they were some of the best I've ever had in my life. Sadly, I can't enjoy the kibbeh anymore because I have celiac disease and have to avoid gluten, but those flavors are still some of my favorite food memories. I also remember that the mother of the family was involved in the cooking. Whether she is still there, retired, or if the ownership has changed, I honestly don't know. Because it has been so many years since my last visit, I can't speak to how the restaurant is today. What I can say is that the memories I have of this place are wonderful. The food was excellent, the service was great, and it became one of those special restaurants that stayed with me throughout the years. The next time I'm in Mississauga, I plan to stop by and see if the food is still as amazing as I remember. If it is, I know I'll be leaving with a huge smile and a full heart.

Tarboosh Restaurant wasn't on my radar at all, but after Suresh Doss gave it a hearty…read morerecommendation, we figured we should stop by and check it out. We arrived around noon on a recent Saturday and the place was completely empty. A group of four fairly loud men showed up shortly after us and inexplicably sat at a table near us, but that's obviously not the restaurant's fault. The menu contained plenty of tasty-looking entrees, but I figured I'd grab the dish with the name of the restaurant in it: the Tarboosh ("Combination of shawarma and falafel"). The concoction arrived to the table quite a while later, which was weird considering how empty the joint was, and sure looked impressive. I dove right in. Everything on the plate was tasty but not mind-blowing. The chicken shawarma had a few crispy pieces, which was appreciated, but was mostly unreasonably dry. (The two included sauces helped with that, at least.) The falafel was fresh but strangely light. It didn't really have a strong flavor of anything, really. I enjoyed eating it, but it definitely didn't remind me of traditional falafel. The hummus was creamy but lacking in a strong chickpea flavor (i.e. the concoction was overwhelmed by tahini, essentially). However, once I began eating everything together, I began enjoying everything a lot more. The included bread help, too, even though it was far from the best middle-eastern bread I've ever had. Tarboosh is a mixed bag, that's for sure. If you're in the area, it's worth a try. I don't think I would travel to far to check it out, though.
