While working in the area, I checked to see if Shaw Nuff BBQ was still open--and I'm so glad it was. As I was getting ready to head home, I decided to swing by and pick up a shredded barbecue chicken sandwich with the sauce on the side. At just $8, this sandwich was worth every single penny. Even without the sauce, the chicken was incredibly flavorful and tender. But once I added that barbecue sauce, wow. It took the sandwich from really good to delicious. The sauce was rich and perfectly balance. I'm glad I stopped in. Shaw Nuff BBQ is still serving up quality food that hits the spot for a good price, and I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the area. As usual the service was awesome. read more

I'm always looking for a great food experience, so when I scrolled online using Google, I saw this bbq joint by the name of yeah, that's right, Shaw Nuff & I decided to give it a try. Needless to say, they had awesome reviews, but I wonder about an establishment that have all glowing reviews because there will always be an unhappy customer. No matter what!! My client & I went on Friday, August 15th; she ordered the 2-pc chicken with beans & potato salad & I had the 3-rib dinner with the same sides. I was blessed with 4 ribs & the first 2 that I ate was banging, as my grandbaby A'Khylee would say but the last 2 were not so good. I don't know if it was 2 different kinds of meat, but I was not happy with those last 2 ribs at all. My client however, stated that she loved hers & showed me the proof . She cleaned her entire plate. The beans & salad was pretty good but I'm going to have to give the ribs another try in the near future. The young man that fixed our plates stated that we would be returning to his establishment, so seeing that I do give ppl second chances, he was right!! Soooo we were just passing through Monroe and found this place on Yelp. Man the food is fire. We got the ribs and sausage plate with potato salad and greens. We also had the ShawNuff plate with potato salad and beans. OMGGGGGG!!! All of it is the bomb. Y'all, seriously though! I needed something quick & GOOD for lunch today. I was outta town for work & just searched places nearby. This was nearby. It's just a lil' shack, so I knew it was either gonna suck or it was gonna be spectacular. Thank the Good Lord and Google Maps that I stopped. I asked the kind young man at the window to help me decide between a couple options and he did NOT steer me wrong. That Chopped Beef sammich was packed so big and thick and tight it looked like a damn burger...so much meat the one plastic thingie of sauce didn't do it justice. I love the style and ethic of this place. I stopped in while traveling for a late afternoon lunch. The service was great. The sausage was excellent. The brisket was not nearly as good, but I am willing to give them a pass because of the lateness of the day. It is hard to stay consistent with BBQ. When I think of Bbq I think of slow smoked meat. I know others cook over charcoal and this was a place that chose charcoal. The sausage was good, the ribs where bland and could only taste the charcoal, needs seasoned, (nothing special but I like smoked meats) sauce was good and sweet, the potato salad was really good and beans tasted like charcoal. This was a great place to stop for lunch as we passed through. Love to go to local spots instead of chains. The beef and sausage were really good and my husband thought the beans were great. I didn't even get to taste them. My daughter wanted pulled pork, but settled for ham. She said it was good too. There are a few seats inside, which kept us from having to eat in the car. Everyone in there was so friendly and nice too. We'll be back the next time we're here. read more

Best BBQ place to get some real home cooking food. The smoked turkey drum stick with two sides and cool aid fir only $10 is unbelievable. You get so much food it last for lunch and dinner. I smelled this place as I drove by, and knew immediately I'd be eating there for lunch. It deserves a 6th star just for how good it smells. I had the ribs and beef brisket, both were delicious--and I'm very picky about my barbecue. Even the sides were above average. With a price of just $9 for two meats and two sides, it's the best meal for the dollar I've had in a long time. The only negative thing I can say, is that I wish they'd put less barbecue sauce on the meat. It's so good, it really doesn't need sauce. So ask for it on the side. read more

I stumbled across this tiny,almost,hole in the wall,little restaurant almost by accident.I was trying to find something new and a little special ,to pick up for dinner,not too far from our hotel.Let me state for the record that 2 of my 3 kids are pretty picky eaters who never agree on anything.I downloaded this app and started my search.I ran across this little place and decided to give it a try.Let me also state from the moment me and my daughter Astrid entered this little,jewel of an eatery ,the proprietor,made us feel quite at home.The little place is obviously someones pride and joy,as should be.I decided to order 4 different mixed plates,so i could sample a little of each.Ribs,chicken,beef,ham,with sides of green beans,bar-b-q beans,corn,Cole slaw,potato salad .I can safely say this is the best barbecue I've ever had. My kids ,girls age 11,12,and,16 devoured their plates. Everything was fantastic,cooked and seasoned just right.The ribs and chicken ,so tender they fell from the bone,.the ham and and brisket melt in your mouth..I went back before closing for one more order for my mother.She had to try this!!Some one barbeque had actually surpassed hers.Impressed is an understatement!
