Recently, our service was renewed with so-called shaw's fibre 1.5 GB. We've been a shaw customer for over a decade plus now. However, my mother was initially not aware of the shaw's salesman trying to upgrade the service with a contract renewal, despite being happy with our service and the billing amount on a monthly basis. The person over the recorded phone line kept telling her to get the upgrade and she knows the benefit of an upgraded internet with fibre wiring. Next we got the new router that is meant to be a faster technological "advance + capable" of acquiring higher fibre without the wire from fibre hub *facepalm* I died a little inside hearing all the lies about everything but, focus on the speed or so-called fibre 1.5 GB speed. My question is how is that possible without having proper infrastructure upgrades involved? That was the first red flag which doesn't make any sense to me? Does it for you? On to the third lie or un-ethical sales tactic used over the phone to convince the naive mother of mine is that the speed will be higher. Another lie is that the router heated up within the first 15 minutes of activation. So, I'm thinking 'this technological innovation' is lagging capability to say the least. The speed was below what it used to be very low in fact. I'm going to attach the 2 speed test 800 mbps on slower internet prior to the so-called fibre upgrade. (Please see the two images). Faster one being on the older router technology. Next, the contract gets renewed, with a payment that is not agreeable with us compared to the older rate on month-to-month. We spend 5-7 hours with various representatives to get our internet connected. Since, new router was heating up they weren't transparent about telling us to reactivate the older one that was working due to the legal liability factors. So, the rude unconcerned retention department representative 'showed' actable concern of not having internet for the next 10-12 days until the next service provider set-up with actual fibre ability to upgrade not just by random router delivery. NEXT, is the worst part. She showed fake concern and canceled our home's internet and we had to call again but they would not accept that the new router is offline and we have to use the older one which was already installed. NEXT - worst thing about SHAW's deceptive nature; they gave us the internet essential but, I had to figure out that the older router is the only functioning one. They could be upfront about this as well but that would just make them look bad (no hope for this company). The worst is yet to come! Trust me these guys have lost all the respect and credibility we're never going back duh! (turning away from being a loyal customer for decades). Cutting the story details short: Bill credits agreed upon the initial conversation was for -250 credits & and, a cash back. Upon increasing the date of cancellation by their initial mistake, sales tactics or trapping in to the falsely advertised fibre "router" are coming down to only $95 as cash back. Lessons to learn: be careful of sales people, all do not have your best interest and shop around because that is your right as a customer in the information era. Definitely going to seek legal advice on this b/c it's all too ridiculous. SPEED DROPPED FROM 800 MBPS from older router to Barely at 300 MBPS with the new system.

Daniel Calcines After all the advertisements on Shaw's Internet speed and portraying themselves as technology leaders, this is the Internet speed, all I get on a package of 300 Mbps is 10 Mbps! You might think - "Wow, First World problem", but the reality is that this has been going for months! After multiple phone calls, numerous technician visits, discussions with their Customer Service department, the answer is the same - "we cannot give you any credit for the service you are NOT receiving, until the problem is solved", which judging by the fact that it has been over 1.5 years and still no resolution in the horizon, we might very well run out of our current contract and still not get any satisfactory compensation. I feel it is legalized robbery to charge for a 300 Mbps, deliver 10 Mbps and be willing to do absolutely nothing about it!!! What an embarrassment for this company. And to add insult to injury, they are threatening to charge an exit fee if we break the contract before it expires in November. From what I understand, Shaw Communications was bought out by Rogers, but nothing has changed. What a huge disappointment! read more

I was a loyal customer for about 20+years. Telus came to my door, and offered me an offer I couldn't refuse. I decided to try them out. I had no issues. A year and a half later. Shaw came to my door and offered an offer I couldn't refuse. I re-signed. It's been a nightmare ever since. On a regular basis, it freezes, so that means every time, or anything that's recorded while freezing it freezes recordings as well. I have restarted over the last year, year and a half, probably on a twice weekly basis. I have had several phone calls to Shaw, that we all know isn't a quick call. I have had two house calls, and have replaced some equipment. I could go on more but, my multiple calls have resulted in, a sorry, but no compensation for any of the lost time, or missed shows. I'm sorry this is a fail at all levels. At this point, I don't have any other choice than to say goodbye to Shaw. read more

Worst customer service I have ever had, I will never be coming back to Shaw. I had been with Shaw for a while and had to move as I got a house in Ontario and they don't have any coverage there and for that they want to charge me 252$ as cancellation fees. I understand I signed up a contract but I didn't intent to end the service, its that they don't have service in my new area- how come its my fault.? I asked to talk to manager and after a long conversation they said its not their fault that I am moving, so you are saying that whenever someone is looking to get a house they should first check with the coverage of internet service provider, I mean come on that is insane. I felt that they are trying to take advantage of my situation and its really sad that a loyal customer is not their first priority, for that reason I will never recommend Shaw to anyone and will be never coming back read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Well, I spoke with a Shaw rep. for the 5th time just last night to try to straighten out my account. There has been an issue that has been ongoing ever since we signed up for services months ago and I'm wishing we just stayed with our previous provider. A technician came to our condo to set up services and brought all the equipment etc. but then when he was there, realized that our condo development has a special deal with Shaw and that the equipment and account type was incorrect and that he wouldn't be able to connect the services that day and took all of the equipment back. About 4 days later, another technician came with different equipment and set everything up. So, there was one account created when the first technician came which we NEVER used services on and then a second account was set up which we are using AND paying. I honestly tried my hardest to resolve the issue before it reached this point and after the 4th phone call, I thought it was resolved but apparently it is not. I actually can't believe its gotten to the point of them sending this to collections and I am beyond frustrated. I have good credit and always pay everything on time. I will be looking to set up internet/TV with another company and cancelling my services with Shaw as soon as I can. If you sign up for Shaw, be prepared to: 1. be on hold for hours just to speak to someone 2. talk to someone for 20-30 mins minimum and 3. talk to MULTIPLE people about the exact same thing. read more

NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE! What part of "Communications" do you do?? Because answering your phones is not even close to ok - NOT EVEN CLOSE. I could never recommend this company - I have a simple question and I'm on my 5th call to the toll free number. This time I'm still on hold (the last 4 times I got kicked off) and I've been holding over 28 minutes and NO ONE has actually answered the phone yet. THE WORST. I have heard ALLLLLLL about their many services and SMART options - I'd rather use a stone tablet. read more

Due to losing my job (Thanks Covid), I have to move to a cheaper rental, where wifi is included. I called Shaw to cancel my Internet, they are charging me a $320.00 fee. I explained to the agent I spoke with that I have no income, am desperate for money, but he didn't care. Would not even accept the fact that Covid is messing around so many lives right now. It's really sad that what used to be a great Calgary company, now doesn't care about their customers. I am a high contributor on Trip Advisor and have written hundreds of reviews, mostly 5 Stars, sometimes 4! So it takes a lot for me to write a negative review. But when you tell someone you can't afford to eat and have to tell a child that I can't afford a Christmas present for him. Their reply is pay us $320.00, that's a company that's really in my bad books. read more

Worst service ever! Unfriendly, unprofessional and rude service at Park Royal. Lady at the door did not great people, spent her time on phone, when I told her I am going to pick up modem she told me there is nothing to be picked that all stuff is being mailed. I have never had a service provider whose main product to customers were problems. My family and I have been dealing with poor internet service, always lower speeds than advertised, by at least 200Mps. However, this isn't the main selling item. Shaw has inconsistent internet, that goes away whenever it wants to, and they have the nerve to charge you as much as they do. For example, earlier today I was writing an exam for my online schooling and my father was doing a job interview. With an online world, it is crucial that our internet is good, and it was all day. Though 5 minutes into writing the test my internet stopped working for at least 5 minutes, that's my test countdown running out of time (note I had 50 minutes to write the test, that's 10% of my total time!!), but my father was losing time for his interview for a potential job, which could be his potential source of income for the next few years! Fortunately, we both got to tether our phones and continued, with a lot more stress because of Shaw, but we did. So please, before going with Shaw just know this. They're a massive company that only gives good internet to people paying for their top of the line service. They have awful customer service which gets mad at you when you complain, it's almost like they're the ones that receive service from you. Whatever you do, don't go with Shaw. They're shit. read more

If you are in a City Center it is great but if you live in a rural community or travel for work and rely heavily on your phone for business, DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT get Shaw Mobile. I live in a community 40 minutes North of Calgary and I have had more dropped calls, texts not sent, and no service in one week than I had with 15 years of Bell travelling all over Canada and the World. I have had people tell me that when they called me they get a no service message instead of going to voicemail. So if you travel for work or pleasure don't be enticed by the prices (they are cheaper than competitors) to get Shaw Mobile. Secondly do your research and do not trust the sales person, they told me I would have no issues wherever I would need to go. That is on me I should have done more research and not been enamored by the price and trust the person selling me the plan. Terrible experience overall, especially being lied to when this phone is part of my livelihood. read more

The only reason I am still with Shaw is because there is no feasible alternative in my area. From constant and unnecessary maintenance to customer support agents who stubbornly read off a script no matter what you say to them, this is, beyond any shadow of a doubt, the worst ISP I have ever been with. And by all accounts, they simply do not care about improving. Multiple times a month, I'm cut off from the internet with no warning - I work from home, so this is literally costing me business. I have asked, on multiple occasions, that Shaw notify me about upcoming maintenance so I can at least prepare. They still can't be bothered to do so - it should not be on me to watch their website like a hawk to know when the business-critical service that I am PAYING FOR will be unavailable. And these are not simple interruptions. These are hours-long affairs which often result in me having to reset my modem and spend further hours on the phone with Shaw. An ISP offering this lack of service and care would be disgraceful at any point in time, but it is especially heinous during COVID. I sincerely hope some meaningful competitor to Shaw eventually becomes available in my area - maybe if they no longer have a monopoly, they'll actually bother to care. read more

Been a client for 4 years. I've used chat a number of times to resolve issues. This service is getting worse each time. They fill the chat with marketing messages, ask you to identify yourself, including acct #, etc. over and over again. They can't seem to send you to the proper department. Chat takes FOREVER because the reps are chatting with multiple clients at once. Not effective. Staff not qualified. Was on a chat for 4 hrs with tech, had to leave. Problem still unresolved. Seems the technician that was on site did not install properly. Now they want to charge $60 to send him back. read more

Wow. Just had cable installed. I have new and unauthorized charges on my bill. I agreed to rent one wifi cable box. The other 3 had coax cable in place. The tech installed all 4 as wifi and is now trying to charge $5 a month for each. I was very clear with him (Kyle). Anyway, I try calling and sit on hold over half an hour before I had to get on with my life. Later, I called again and twice tried their automated call back service. Never got a call back either time. I've now been on hold over an hour and 35 minutes and still no answer. I also tried to DM @shawhelp on Twitter. It's been a full day and no answer there either. Terrible customer service. On top of it all the wifi boxes don't even work well. I had TELUS ones before that worked 100%. These ones freeze video and drop audio constantly. At least TELUS answers the phone. What a joke. Edit. Still holding 4 hours. read more

We have been Shaw customers for over 10 years now and today I tried to get through to Shaw. I accepted the call back option twice and they did not call back. Our tenant established internet service as soon as he moved into our rental. My expectation was that our account would be cancelled when his was created. One jack, one box. Mine removed, his installed. It is summertime, and I was out of town. Realized what was happening when I returned and viewed my credit card statement. Double dipping! Got paid twice on one location and refused to refund me. It was my "duty" to call them and let them know. Of course Shaw wanted online billing, so no paper to be seen. They said "we emailed you a bill." Not! I have initiated a dispute with my credit card company. read more

Frustrated enough to write a review, even though reviews of the competition appear to be equally terrible. This particular review is about the customer service, specifically an experience I just had and want to share. Perhaps it will entertain you as you read it, or convince you to go off the grid and live off the land or something. Since COVID, my wife and I have been working from home full time. She runs her own business, and I work for a US-based company and spend many hours a day on Zoom. With our kids spending more time (ie, bandwidth) at home also, I decided to look into a faster home internet connection. We currently have the Shaw 300 plan and a Hitron router, which is ok: avg of 300mbps DL speed, uploads at 15mbps, on my wired connection. Wireless on my one router is way worse. Add 2 netflix and a zoom video conference, and we are in paint dry watching territory. So I see Shaw offering a Fibre+ GIG package and pounce! Eagerly anticipating the arrival of the new hardware, I login to my Shaw account and find a luring call-to-action at the top saying "Activate Service" - so I click it! (who wouldn't?!) That's where the story takes a sudden and unfortunate turn for the worse... My internet disappears instantly. 10 minutes before my next Zoom, and it's clearly something on the Shaw side. My router is still lit up like a xmas tree, but nothing is coming through it. Queue customer support line mayhem. After 20 minutes on hold (that's not bad, apparently) I get a man on the phone, who's voice is slightly muffled and name indiscernible. I explain my problem, that I have no internet. He proceeds to verify my personal details, then asks how can I help him. Well, I have no internet, but I need internet. He asks me to check where the coax cable is plugged in, any slicers, etc. I re-explain the sequence of events and assure him, nothing has physically changed in my setup; I just clicked the Activate button. He then realizes I'm still on my old modem, and says, Ah... you just need your new modem, anything else I can do for you today? Blood pressure starts to go up a little. Me: Yes, you can revert the "activate" action and give me back my precious internet, while I wait for the new modem to arrive. Operator: Sorry, I can't do that. Me: Why not? Operator: I can't do that. Me: Umm, when is the new modem arriving. Operator: Oh, you will receive it soon. Me: How soon, today? Tomorrow? Next week? Operator: You will receive it soon. #this repeats about 4 times during the call# Me: Ok, can I talk to your manager because I just need my internet restored, or a better estimate of when I can go back to work. Operator: No, there is no manager. Me: What? Can I talk to someone else then, because it's clear you cannot help me. Operator: No, everyone is busy. Me: That's ok, I can wait. Operator: No, nobody else can help you. (blood starting to rise even more) Me: Ok, can I have your name please? Operator: #silence Me: Can I get your name please? Operator: One moment please. Me: #waits for about 20 seconds# Hello? Can I get your name? Operator: One moment please. Me: Just your name. I'm not trying to cause any trouble, just asking for your name. Operator: #pause, then mumbles something indiscernible# Me: Thanks, can you spell that please, I couldn't make out what you said? Operator: #silence# Me: Hi, can you spell your name please? Operator: One moment please. Me: Are you serious right now? Operator: #silence, 30 seconds later...# Operator: Okay anything else I can help you with today? Me: wth? I just want to know who I'm talking to and to figure out how to get my internet back? Operator: One moment please. Me: #hangs up emphatically# After blowing off some steam, I phone back. This time, I get someone else on the phone, and this guy is amazing! He verifies my identification, listens to my problem, and after about 2 minutes Voila, my internet suddenly works again! He explains, yeah, we just had to cancel your upgrade to restore your internet, then resubmit it. Thank you. read more

Shaw has NO consideration for military families. Here we are, forced to move for the military again! Multiple moves in a very short time period. I committed myself to a contract in hopes that we would be staying in Winnipeg. But unfortunately that is not the case. We are moving to a province where there is no SHAW. Now we have to pay $360.00 to get out of it and they won't make an exception for us. Way to show support to our troops who risk their lives for management at SHAW!!! I wish I could give no stars as that would be more accurate. Our service was overpriced and unreliable for years, after we tried to cancel it we were disputing charges and the customer service agents were supposed to ecalate our request and have a supervisor return our call. Instead they did nothing but send a bill for $105 to collections. They are criminals from the amount they charge for their subpar service to their service methods - what a joke this company is with employees that don't have a clue. I won't even type out my experience because it is exactly how Ken W. explained it. Exactly. I will add that I have two kids in University which is online right now and when one had an exam last week we needed to use 2 of our phones as hotspots so he could write the exams. Terrible company. I agreed to a 2 year contract, in order to have the same bill every month being on a fixed income. After 1 year Shaw increased the bill by $50. Saying a promotion expired. So useless. I can't even begin to explain the pain and suffering from endured by speaking with customer service. Switched to shaw mobile, just had to go to the Vancouver store and pay $20 activation per line, great done. Then I got my bill and they charged me for activating the 2 lines again! Then they want me to give them a receipt that I didn't get because at the Vancouver store you have to pay the $20 fee or you don't get a line. Customer service won't just call the Vancouver store to ask them if I paid. Customer service won't even call their own store because they say it doesn't have a phone number! Recently moved into a new place. I called to schedule an appointment to have services provided to my area, as well as schedule a technician to hook up my cable and internet. I called two weeks in advance to my possession date of December 30th 2019. The Shaw personnel on the phone that day said "plenty of time, we'll have services provided to that area by the 30th, as well as have a technician arrive on the 30th to hook up your services" I called on the 30th to inquire about the arrival time of the technician. Shaw personnel on the phone that day responded "sorry, your area isn't a service provided area at the moment would you like to schedule an appointment?" Long story short, I have to wait another two weeks until their next appointment is available. A manager that I spoke to regarding Shaw's incompetency of properly scheduling service appointments suggested that my wife and I "go find a Shaw-hotspot at Tim Hortons or something if you want to use the internet in the meantime", when I asked the Shaw personnel about our data usage. read more

We have Shaw satellite tv and the feed cuts out very 30 minutes. Exactly on the hour and half hour. So first they couldn't find the account by phone number address and or name so I finally dig out my invoice then had to repeat all the same details again. Name phone number and address ... it took me 4 times of the same info before we got my question. Hey dumbazz it is chat, my name address and ph number are up above 2 comments ago, 6 comment s ago and another behind that. I think they do it just to piss you off. Felix 3114 best stick with your video games. Either that or you were just enjoying your nose picking far too much. Their first response was it was the tv causing the problem. Can't be as the channel indicator comes on tv screen when feed flicks off so I know the tv is on. Shaw supports next answer was to reboot which I've done so many times omg. After that suggestion the guy just disappeared again. I was on their messenger chat and I think the guy was playing video games or whatever, he was certainly doing something at the same time. . He'd disappear for 10 min plus at a time. Benefit of the chat is it gives you the time a message is delivered and or read. Just such a frustrating ridiculous process. Don't do Shaw ! I would provide a zero star rating if that was an option. Recently upgraded my wifi service to fibre and have had nothing but issues. The service is slower than previously and is costing more. Upon contacting customer support and spending hours checking everything myself, they send a tech out. The tech indicates that the modem should have been upgrade as it cannot handle the new service. Another multi hour phone call to their service team and they tell me that a new modem should have been included but since t wasn't they cannot re offer it without restarting my 2 year contract. Ok, that sounds reasonable until they add that the new contract will cost $30 more per month. What a joke! Clearly they don't care about their customers as they have a monopoly on the industry. And not just supporting a Canadian company, but anything but Telus ;) This review is for their Shomi service, which has been a pleasant experience since Christmas, all the binge TV watching in between writing Yelp reviews, it's a nice breather haha. So what I love about this streaming service is one, doesn't affect nor require Internet speed, as the system is run right from the PVR box; no slow downs whatsoever! I've had some experiences with Netflix at my buddy's place, and it may be true that they have more newer stuff, well, by the time you catch up on 2-3 seasons worth, then it'll be ready for Shomi lol. And here's another cool thing: every completed episode that you finished watching, there's a checkmark beside, as per pic. No need to keep track ;) There's 24 episodes in one season for Modern Family! Haven't been this enthralled since Entourage and Seinfeld!!! Highly recommend to try their one month free trial, or just $9/month afterwards. As much as a Mcdonald's Super size combo ;) read more

I did as he said, yet when I gave the next representative the tracking number he did not honour the previous commitment. He kept asking me detailed questions about our account even though he had the information right in front of him. When asked why the previous representative had promised a refund if the equipment was returned, he stated, "there are a lot of newbies working here". Very happy we have switched to Telus!!!! So sick of internet outages and unstable internet connection. I use my computer for both work and play, usually between 8pm-8am. When it works like it's supposed to, it works fantastic. But Holy crap man, do they really need to shut down the internet while they do server maintenance? That is poor planning. I'm also extremely annoyed that this was not discussed when I signed up with them. It's 2021, they should be able to complete those without taking customers offline. I've literally lost income because they like to do "server maintenance and updates" multiple times a month. They only got 2 stars for the speed. Don't sign with them. read more

NOTE: First World Problem to Follow. Unfortunately, I have not had a good experience for about the past year, since transferring my services from Telus to Shaw. Sadly, the company has gotten just big enough not to care. I switched to Shaw because I thought Telus had dropped the ball on customer service. I was tired of the 30, 40, 50, 60 minute waits to resolve relatively small problems, so I called Shaw. Shaw was quick to answer and offered me an absolutely amazing deal for cable and internet (and it remains an amazing price), so I signed on and said goodbye to Telus. I won't prattle on about the similarities or differences between channel or theme pack selections, or technical features between remotes or guides, as each has advantages and disadvantages, but I can say unequivocally that I have been plagued with reception-type issues since signing on with Shaw. My cable service has had certain channels that regularly freeze or pixelate, images that seem out of sync with voices or sounds, and shows that did not record properly. I even had to re-boot the entire system right at the last minute of a tied NBA final game! It's true, it sucked, and I'm not even a sports fan! My internet has randomly gone offline, several times that I know of so who know how often it was down when I didn't need access. Yesterday, I was completing an online form and had just written a large chunk of writing, when I was notified that the material did not save because my internet connection was down. Despite re-boot after re-boot, it was hit and miss all day. The insult that gets added to the injury is Shaw's customer service. I am not exaggerating when I say that I have had numerous one hour + "waits" (on hold). Several times I hang up at 30 minutes or 45 minutes because I have to attend to life. A couple of weeks ago I had a TWO HOUR WAIT before I hung up. Shaw's typical response is to listen to me whine and complain for a bit, offer an apology for the inconvenience, and send a re-fresh to my system. I got to the point early on when I said I wanted to cancel my services because they weren't living up to their contract or providing customer service. Instead, they convinced me to take a small credit on my account and sent a technician to swap out my equipment. (BTW, the technician told me the equipment wasn't the problem). The problems have continued, intermittently. The day after my two hour wait, I called them again and got no where. Another re-boot. No change. I said I wanted to cancel my contract and was told I would have pay the $280 balance on my two year contract. I asked to speak to a supervisor. He offered a credit but would not wave the fee if I broke the contract because there is not record of all these occasions I said I was having problems. But, if I cannot get through, how do I report a problem?! Shop and compare. Buyer beware. And, let's all shout a little louder about corporations who treat their customers like crap. read more

I tried very hard with Shaw and gave them the benefit of the doubt when I needed to upgrade my service due to working from home. After upgrading my service it became apparent that it wasn't everything it was touted to be. When I called their customer service (an oxymoron) I was led on a wild goose chase of unplugging and resetting equipment that took many hours only to determine in the end that they couldn't provide the service that they claimed. I cut off my service. This would have been the end of it, but because I had some of their rented equipment it was to be mailed back, they were to mail me a label for it. When a label didn't arrive after several weeks I called them and was able to get a mailing number that I could use with Canada post, which I didn't mail immediately. The first thing I hear about it is that they have sent it to a collection agency and are threatening to file it on my credit rating. I have sent the equipment back but we'll see what new games they will play. Will they acknowledge that it arrived? Will they claim the equipment doesn't work? Time will tell. Fortunately I have the Canada post tracking number. read more

No - the correct name of the company is " We Hate all Blacks and part-Black people of the world, everywhere around the world " because we have to make white women look more elite. The truth is, you didn't advance a single black in the first place. You just took all their work and made them participate or relive the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade, or We are Europeans let's ruin it all. Awful Americans. And believe me, I already helped many enough civil and nice ones until I came to this company and saw they were just a karmic extension of their former AGT/Telus rival. Fat, unhealthy women, skinny whatever, weight obsessed, smoking, everything. Racialized, Slandering, Gossiping and Segregated. Congratulations. You fail your own Continent and America. We'd be right to now all hate you on the the continent of Africa. Better be cruel. The opposite might have been less penalizing. Sabotage their own success. No patience. Impulsive. Narcissistic. Wrong Conclusion. Rash decisions. Way too exterior conscious. Listening and spying on employees in their personal lives also. Releasing addresses of where employees live. Whatever millionaires with holes in their pockets. False predictors of the future. Thinking they have a crystal ball. Management by Abandonment. Fear guides their decision making - " Would have, oh! I could lose my boyfriend on the top floor! " So - let's blow up all blacks! Talk about murderers. Desperado-Conceito. They even follow you if you take a vacation! Harrassment. No Privacy! Heaven forbid if someone had a life outside of this place. Pretty much black and part black women really are quite good looking to the people in the regions that they are connected to. We don't need you whites trying to play 'Colonial Queen and re-rapists of the world.' ' Oh! We Power Played you with the NHL! International Hate League!' Shaw - Headquarters - Calgary Flames from Hell's Notice. New criminals of Ottawa. The reason why the country went to terrorism and downhill. Straighten this out in a CFL game and Hockey?! Reverse blaming the liability they caused. They are dangerous. They are the Cause of Danger. Not those who have been victimized. People have a right to be angry. Definitely out to prove " We are the White Champions! " LOSERS - brought Blacks/part-black community to Poverty and Welfare. Dumb Colonials from back in Victoria, BC and the Sinners of Central and Southern Ontario. Real phoney believers in the Philip Rushton ideology. See failed researcher with bad reputation from the 1990's - Enemy of F.W. de Clerk and Nelson Mandela. These Irish are mentally ill and sick. Blasphemous too. Big Orgy with that Bradley Shaw, too. They even went in and invaded Jamaica, and South Africa. They wouldn't even address their own mistake, nor even apologize when it was pointed out they did wrong. ill EGOs - they're all over 'Shaw Spy Tower'. They transfer Asians there only. BEWARE. Post U.K. Colonials of British Columbia are really bad. The embarassment of Christopher Columbus. Let us Alberta-Canadians 'Supply You' - run on billing? Time and Energy Werewolves Vampires. I never thought I would write a review someday until I faced this terrible experience with Shaw Cable Company quite recently. Here is the story unfold. My family and I moved to a new house few months ago and contacted Shaw cable for a TV and internet service. The deal was attractive initially and agreed to get everything installed. Few days after the service began I received many calls from the company offering us a better deal than what we were going to get at the time. One blamed the first sale's person for offering me slow internet service and he would do it better for us if we agree adding $5 on the first agreed price. My wife and I discussed about it and we agreed to take the new deal. About 2 days later someone else called again and said all the offers we got aren't that great, so with adding $5 dollars more, we could get a telephone line extra. We didn't say no to this one either. The sad part was that all the promised services aren't that really great at all. So we decided to cancel the service after trying it out for 2 months or so. They weren't happy of our going away from them, but accepted anyway. Once the service is over, I collected all the rental equipment and brought it to the Barlow trial Shaw cable office in person. The rudest person ever I met in my life talked to me about the returning stuff. And he picked one of the modems unwillingly and said to me it is very dirty. I admit it was covered with light dust and I didn't notice it when I brought it back to them. Then I tried to explain to him the situation that the technician who had installed it in the basement while there was a construction going on, left the house without warning my wife or leaving a message to me (as I wasn't at home at that moment) to cover it or to keep it away until the work is over. Never! The customer service guy (his name is Frank) didn't want to hear the truth, and rather he continued to say weird things to me plus to charge me for it. I said I will take it back, clean it and bring it back to them again. He said by then that's fine. Guess what, a week later I received a call that warns me to pay the money I "owe" them in less than 30 days unless they will damage my credit and so on. I went back to the office to discuss the issue with the manager but she said I have to pay for the particular modem was damaged. She didn't want to hear that the man whom I handled the equipment to, intended to make this happen to me, because he didn't like me for unknown reason. I said to her this seems to be a rough discrimination based on my racial background and skin colour. She even didn't take in consideration that their technician made a mistake when installing it few months ago. I believe this is all a big none-sense and the equipment was not in that bad shape at all. I feel like it is a ripping off innocent customers by finding silly mistakes here and there. I am a clean citizen and exercised my right and duty, so I have no other hidden intention to harm anyone, but crying out for justice. read more

I couldn't give a worse review if I used profanity. Just imagine what I am thinking! This review targets the lack of respect and care that Shaw Direct has towards its customers and other people and companies. Numerous phone calls every night that are reserved for my family and emergencies. How angry would you be? Constant phone calls every day that I am paying for. This has been going on for decades. Shaw's response is "WE CAN'T HELP IT IF OUR CUSTOMERS CAN'T DIAL THE CORRECT NUMBER!!!" how is that for respect for their customers? My reply was "hundreds of customers??? really?" Surely, there is another company that would show some respect for their customers and others. I am not polite nor do i intend to be polite when my privacy is constantly intruded upon. If you agree with me, tell Shaw to stick it and correct this problem! Please direct your replies to Shaw Direct and ask them to change their phone number and correct their advertisements. 1 888 554 7827 (phone) APRIL 15, 2014 On April 15, 2014, midnight my time, as usual SHAW DIRECT customers started calling me! This is a daily and nightly occurence starting at midnight and ending at midnight! There are at least 5-10 calls on an average! This not my first complaint to SHAW DIRECT for the intrusion upon my sleep, and my business operations. The typical response is "We can't help it if our customers are too dum to dial the right phone number" The SHAW callers recite my number 800 554 7287 from their flyers, television and their SHAW contracts! And yet SHAW thinks that this is NOT their problem! I intend to make it their problem with my continued unhappiness with the constant intrustions. I consider it rude and disrespectful, therefore, I intend to be rude and disrespectful in return. Is there no competition for this company in Cananda? Yesterday afternoon 5 or 6 calls alone plus 1 from SHAW, whom was equally rude and stated "A (one) human error, Really? What planet is she from?" There were 4 plus hers within 5 minutes! She got exactly what she had coming She can dish it out, but she can't take it!!! So not only do I have to put up with their customers I have to put up with their personnel! Is anybody out their listening??? DIS RESPECTFULLY, 'p*ssed off' SURELY IF SHAW APPRECIATES AND WANTS TO KEEP ITS CUSTOMERS THEY WILL FIND A WAY TO HANDLE THEIR PROBLEM. LEFT IN MY HANDS, STATUS QUO WILL CONTINUE. PLEASE CALL MY NUMBER 800-554-7287 IF ANYBODY HAS ANYTHING TO SAY ABOUT THIS ISSUE. Calgary, AB, CA read more

We are about to commence litigation with this ghastly, inhumane, appalingly inappropriate gang of thieves. My sister and I have power of attorney as our mother has dementia and is in a care home. We've paid her last bill at the place we had to put on the market, we returned her equipment, we did everything above the board and in a timely manner. Despite due diligence, Shaw passed her personal information including her phone number at assisted living to a dispreputable collection agency who extracted over the phone from her another several hundred dollars (already paid in full to Shaw) illegally. Shaw have refused to give us an itemised bill or to deal with us at all. This in itself is illegal. The Collection agency they should never have involved, refuse to talk to my sister who is, as I am, legally signed to deal with her affairs. Neither Shaw nor their criminally abusive and thieving collection agency are taking responsibility for their illegal doubling of a bill that should never be on the books at all. Neither of them seem to understand that you can't charge someone something, be paid, then charge them again. Stay away from Shaw at all costs, because they are many, many costs in dealing with this criminal organization. We are instigating an investigation on this appalling activity, including the knowledgeable abuse and theft from senior citizens, and Shaw is clearly at the forefront of encouraging theft and abuse. You can't get any grimmer than this. Shaw, beware. Your theft is noted and will be kicking you good and hard - but with this review I urge anyone involved with this company to take their business immediately elsewhere. read more

After posting online Shaw moved up my appointment by a few days. We swapped the modem out but that did not fix the issue 100%. I did notice some improvements in my internet performance. Over the week I talked to about 7 different internet techs at Shaw and none had any clue to what the problem was. Finally a tech came on Monday (which was the regularly scheduled appointment). He was unable to find any issues with the modem/router and or wiring in the house. He however asked me if I changed the user name, password, SSID and wireless PW. I did make those credential changes to make my network more secure. He then mentioned there is a glitch in the Cisco DPC3825 modem/router that will cause it to drop connection often if those credentials are altered. Exactly what I was seeing. I need to change the PW and user names for security so I had Shaw put the modem into Bridge mode after it was RESET. I use my Dlink router instead of the SHAW box and everything is working like it should now. I think if Shaw had better internal communications that cisco problem would of been shared with all the internet phone techs. My issue would of been solved the first phone call I made. The solution is to RESET you modem/router back to defaults then have Shaw put it into bridge mode so you can use you own router and modify the user credentials. read more

Very poor service. After more than 10 years of customer loyalty, I was moving my residence. The move was in the same town just 3 blocks away. I called Shaw, 3 weeks prior to my move to notify Shaw and ensure that any service interruption would be minimal. I was assured by Shaw that there would be NO service interruption and cancellation at my old residence would take place on the day of the move AND there would be NO loss of service. Upon moving I found there was NO Shaw service at my new location and it would be 10 days to regain hookup. Shaw attended my place as directed by customer service and completed the hookup 18 days after hookup, I have no internet or WIFI connectivity. After an arduous conversation with Shse, they determined to arrange a service call for 10 days later. That's 10 days without Netflix, Prime Video WIFI, email and internet. Not happy with the service, I asked Shaw, what compensation would I be expecting for their poor service and my inconvenience? Their answer...they would make sure I was not billed for service during that time period. In other words they'd make sure I wasn't charged for a service I never received. That is their idea of competition. That is not satisfactory and I'll be saying good bye to Shaw as well as informing any and all interested future Shaw customers the same read more

I called at 2:30pm, was told I was 1300+ in the queue. First of all, if theres that many people waiting for help your customer service is already a joke. I entered the call me back option and was told 35 minutes, an hour and a half later I got a call back alert saying to stay on the line as I was next in queue... I've now been on hold for 25 minutes! THE POINT OF ASKING TO BE CALLED BACK IS SO I DON'T HAVE TO SIT ON HOLD. With every other company I ask for a call back they only call me back when theres a representative on the other end of the line. Can I get a call back option on my call back option??? Because no one has time to sit on hold like this. Its ironic because I'm calling to cancel my services... this is just one of the many reasons why. Wish me luck, as I'm sure I'll have to spend way to much time declining a change in services or being offered other things to stay. Thats a hard no! I also wouldn't be surprised of there was going to be some kind of hidden fee. Anyways, I'm still on hold (its now 4:25pm) and I grow angrier and angrier with each passing minute. Side note, I went to post this but didn't have a yelp review, and thought oh well. But as the minutes pass I have lost my patience and made one just to post this. Thats how unsatisfied I am. read more

Go to Telus or any other company that values their customers. Shaw does not care about their customers. Their service is not good. After receiving an email from Shaw to renew my 2 year plan I called back and asked if I could stay on the same plan at or close to the same price as I am not receiving anything other than a signal. The answer was no plus a huge increase in price for much less service and channels. They didn't even want to look into what they could do for me even though I have been with them for 25 years. They just say go online and look at the plans available. I said will cancel then and go with Telus. I was told I would have to call another number to return my hardware as it cannot be returned to a Shaw store. Not so much as let me transfer you. I called the number, waited and spoke to a guy asking him if there was a deal I could get as I would stay but not at a huge price increase with less service. He didn't give me the time of day - only did you want to cancel now or the end of the plan and I will send you an email with the return of hardware forms. It's too bad as Shaw use to be good but have been getting worse with customer service over the last few years. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE GO WITH TELUS OR ANOTHER PROVIDER. read more

For decades, I was a loyal Shaw customer, consistently paying premium rates for cable and internet services. Three months before my contract ended, I proactively reached out to renew and secure a better deal. After enduring hours of negotiations and repeated disconnections from their service queue, I managed to finalize a contract, reassured by the promise of a 10-day penalty-free adjustment period. However, seven days later, when I called to downgrade my cable to a basic package while retaining my internet, I was met with an infuriating experience. Calls were abruptly cut off, and I was shuffled into a waiting queue as number 286, with an estimated wait time of 3-4 hours and no alternative way to resolve my issue. My complaint led to an outcome worse than I could have anticipated--Shaw cut off my cable service and began charging an outrageous $189 per month for internet alone. This was, without question, the most appalling customer service I have ever encountered. It felt as though their approach was intentionally dismissive, making it clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority. Thankfully, I switched to Telus and secured a far superior package for under $100 per month--significantly better than what Shaw-Rogers offered. read more

Switched from Telus to Shaw due to bad customer service from Telus. Everything was fantastic, had great prompt service. Recently, there was an accident in my complexe, I lost all my belongings and have been forced to move. I called to Shaw to cancel my service. After explaining that I had to cancel due to my home being destroyed I was explained all the services I would lose and offered a discount if I didn't cancel. I understand reps have scripts to follow but I just lost all my things loosing access to Shaw Go doesn't even register at this point. Completely inappropriate. Called back to complain/explain to a supervisor how inappropriate it was. And to suggest better ways to offer to keep a customer such as offering to give me a discount once I find a new place and need internet services again. After being placed on hold for awhile, I was "disconnected" no more then ten seconds after the supervisor answered the call. No call back to follow up on how/why the line was disconnected. Clearly since I'm no longer a customer I'm no longer of value. Too bad because up until this fiasco I would have returned to Shaw. Not anymore. Congratulations Shaw, you just made Telus look good. Not an easy task. read more

Horrific customer service that keeps you on hold for hours, with representatives who then don't have the ability to do anything. Only time anyone offered to help was when we phoned to cancel our service...by then it's too late. Make a better effort earlier on. Phoned them in early January to complain our bill was too high, especially given the service we were getting. They stated that if we were willing to sign a contract they would gift us ~$200, which we were happy with as we thought the contract was good. Get our bill later and surprise, the extra $200 was still there. After trying numerous times to get resolution (and having to wait on hold a ridiculous amount), told that this promise was never given to me. Was then told they had listened to the tape, which I don't believe they ever did, as I know what was stated to me. Congrats Shaw, because of your lack of resolution and horrific customer service, you now lost a customer. I hope the $200 was worth losing the $2000 a year we were giving you guys for internet and tv. read more

We were duped into a "sale" by TELUS if we swapped from Shaw. TELUS provided horrible customer service from the start and ended up cancelling our Shaw service with a two week wait for an installation appt. We initially called Shaw back about hooking up the internet and the gentleman we spoke to on the phone said there was nothing he could do for us.. After 5 days without tv or internet and no solutions from TELUS, we called Shaw back again and explained the situation. We spoke to a lady named Adrianna (sp?) from Nanaimo, she was beyond helpful and did an amazing job of winning back a customer. She handled all of our concerns and suggested some great new options. We are very impressed with her and grateful to have spoken to someone who actually cared enough to resolve a problem for us! Thank you! read more

The latest scam from Shaw for me is if you pay thru your on line banking system, even several days in advance of your due date, you get a processing and late payment charge of $20.00,,,,who would have thunk it!! ,,no tax put on this charge however,, so it must be something like a tip for the extra good account service,,!! LMAO,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,inconceivable!!,,so I got so disgusted I dropped my service this evening after being on the phone with their Toronto customer service center for 30 minutes,,said its my banks fault!!,,,uggghhhhhhhhhh!!!,,not enuff fair competition for these big players in the communications field imo!!!,,lots of Primo and Netflix and Inet to fill the Shaw void!!,,nor will I miss that $150.00month bill either!!! read more

Do not sign a contract with Shaw. My contract expired on Jan 02, 2020 and I signed another contract with them in December 2019. But they overcharged on my December 2019 bill $42.00 without a reason. I made a phone call to ask why they overcharged me. Then they said that they didn't overcharge me, but they couldn't explain why there's $42 extra on my bill. They just kept saying they didn't overcharge me. It is just a small amount of money. Why did they do that? It is a rip-off. I would like to cancel the contract. But if I do that, I have to pay for a fine because breaking the contract. Unfortunately I'm stuck with Shaw now. That is a terrible experience with Shaw. Ive been a loyal customer of Shaw, current plan is ending by October and just received an email from them about renewing my contract and gave me some decent option. I chatted with a couple of their agent only to be told that that offer is only for new customer and the other one said there will be an additional $10 for modem rental when I asked if they have a different modem other than what Im currently using he said its the same one. Why would you send me an offer on my email and later on your agents will say the offer is for a new customer and that the same plan you are offering me thru my email will have an additional $10 for modem rental, that is clearly a false ad and clearly shows you dont value your loyal customers. read more

I've had shaw for just over two years now and I had no issue until I go switched to the HORRIBLE BLUE CURVE TV. I got the services in November and my internet/ tv crashes at least TWICE a day. The have sent seven techs to my house so far and the techs are to stupid to read notes about my services, so it's pretty much am re-explaining my issues every time. I've also had three no shows and with out any notice or info why they don't show. Last time I called they had me on hold/ transferred to the wrong departments, wasting 3 hours of my time, to get no where. DON'T TRUST SHAW ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS MAKING MONEY. THEY ALSO COULD CARE LESS ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE, WHAT A JOKE OF A COMPANY read more

It is the worst home internet service with the highest price. I'm a private tutor and I got disconnected ten times in 90 minutes which is very embarrassing and stressful. I get heart beat every time I turn on the laptop. Last month, they forced me to sign a 2-year contract with them at $68 per month promising a better connection and speed but since then the connection has been awful. At first, I thought it was my laptop and bought an expensive laptop but again the same problem. When I call them, I have to wait for 30-50 minutes and each time a rude agent tells me there's no problem with your connection!!! Recently, they give no support even online. read more

After all the headache, the customer service had deducted my statement of $328 to $292 as goodwill. I paid $296. Next thing I know my statement did not reflect that change and I was getting charged $30 more. I waited 1-1/2 hours on the phone and finally when I explained everything, they wouldn't honor it even though it was their coworker's mistake that he didn't put on file. They forced on me a $20 discount saying that's all they can do however I'm still paying $10 more than what I should. Paying for someone's mistake. Absolutely appalling customer service that don't care about their customers at all. read more
