Had my 05 Subaru in for horrible noises from the front end. Ended up needing new struts and mounts along with some bushings. After the work was done the car didn't feel right at all. I'm not sure if they test drove it when the work was done or not but anyone could clearly tell it was not right because the whole car was not shaking violently at just 20mph. I took it back and after further inspection we also needed a new front axle but he gave it to us for free and made the car right before we got it back. My dad recently went to Mr Shaw (owner) because something was wrong with his car. Long story short, Mr Shaw stated that he put a new alternator in my dads car, but my dad then took his truck to ford dealership and they documented that it was the original alternator in his car Don't trust this guy he's a crook, he lies and steal people money . I had, what I thought would have been a simple fix, my hood would not close due to the lever inside the cabin which releases the beginning of the hood mechanism broke. I went to several stores to see if they had the particular lever for my vehicle (2000 Mercury Grand Marquis) rather old but still in good working condition, every place I went they did not carry the part or they had a simulation but not the original. Gladly, I did not buy a part which was cheaply made and the only guarantee was to be unreliable. I went to a few mechanics who did not entertain the business, they put walls in front of me. I remembered, nearby my working place a mechanic which I frequently passed by (Shaw Auto Repair Inc.), thought I take a chance and see what would be the outcome, it was a Saturday and I arrived at Shaw Auto Repair Inc. in the afternoon, I was surprised to be greeted by the owner himself Shaw, he was quick to understand my situation and even more satisfying to educate me in the repair process, Shaw educated me in understanding how critical it is to buy original parts in fact, Shaw will not repair a car unless the parts used or the original made by the manufacturer, everything else he would not guarantee because, his years of experience has thought him and his clients to always utilize original parts. Amazing, not only did I meet an honest Mechanic but one that welcomes my particular situation, he soon made me feel like I had no worries and the problem will be fixed. On Monday I called Shaw and he said he had the part and he told me to bring the car over, so I did and went back to my place, in a few hours I went to pick up the car and was totally satisfied with the outcome and quite honestly the price for the repair was very modest. I have had work done at Shaw Auto Repair on my 2006 - BMW 330I in March 2015, and I was very satisfied with the service and quality of work. They were very courteous and professional in the way they handled me as a female client who was somewhat ignorant of the problem I was having with my car. I went to this garage a couple of days ago for a routine inspection. They put my car up on the lift and immediately told me I needed over $700 worth of repairs for it to pass inspection. I didn't believe them so I took it to my dealership the next morning and it passed NYS inspection without issue. I'm left to believe that they were looking to get a quick buck over an unsuspecting female at the start of a holiday weekend. Glad I went with my gut. Beware. read more

i don't know what to said regarding to previous comments, but when my engine light comes on, i went to him for check up, been told about the power steering rack modular need to replace together with the rack for $1,200 plus the rusted wiring another $100 or $200. almost fell for it, then bring my car to autozone, another old mechanic i used to go, and another gas station mechanic, they all get the same diagnostic code and told me it just the wire issues, and repaired for only $80 dollars............................. so, either he can't read the diagnostic codes right or he try to make few hundreds of dollars before new year.............. read more

Excellent service and price. Needed a tune up, belts changed and NYS Inspection for 2003 Tacoma. I contacted PepBoys and a few other shops in the area and was quoted around $750....I was like wow, that is expensive. Then I ran into Shaw's website, called, and was in there the next morning. In a few hours I receive all that I needed in addition to two wipers and a car wash for $400, which was an excellent deal. My truck runs like new. read more
