I was a…read morepatient over a decade and went with a midwife for my prenatal care after being told that I would have to wait until my second trimester and at that time would have to sign a document committing to only seeing Selah Health for all of my prenatal care prior to even being able to see Dr. Kang to discuss all my options for prenatal care. I had my baby at a birthing center and after being discharged I and my midwife went to Mercy Hospital to see the on-call OBGYN for suturing. I was told by that OBGYN, who happened to work at Selah Health, to follow up if I had symptoms after suture placement, which I did. I called Selah Health and they refused to schedule me, informing me that I was under the care of my midwife for the first 6 weeks postpartum and to make an exception, I'd have to have a referral from my primary care provider. I went to my primary care provider and had them send a referral noting the symptoms I was having that I was told by the on-call OBGYN to follow up on if I was having. I then received a call from Selah Health informing me that they declined my referral. I then had to wait until the 6 weeks postpartum period was over to schedule an appt. I was able to schedule with the on-call OBGYN that I had seen at Mercy Hospital and had to wait an additional 6 weeks for her to be back in the office to see her. The day before my appt. I received a text message alerting me to complete intake online paperwork in preparation for this appt. At the end of the day I then received a call alerting me that the person who scheduled me had made a mistake and I was actually dismissed from the practice. I tried to access my online account and it was gone. Since I had blocked my schedule for this appt. I decided to still go to Selah Health the following morning to talk to someone in hopes to still be seen. They still refused to see me. I was told that their malpractice insurance carrier told them they don't have to see me. I have heard this happen to other women who were patients of record that ended up using a midwife for their prenatal care. Instead of seeing us, they are telling us to go to another OBGYN/gynecology office, even though they manage our gynecological care. I was not alerted ahead of time that this would be the outcome of using a midwife. I also was dismissed the day before my appt. without any letter notifying me of this decision. This is considered medical abandonment. I feel that I'm being punished for using a midwife. I do not feel like they care for my wellbeing and sadly I do not recommend their services.

We drove to three different urgent cares (all closed) before calling Hilltop and making sure they were open. They told us to fill out an online form and that a nurse could help him triage from the car (because we were from out of town they didn't want us to enter). However, when we arrived, they changed their tune, saying they "may not" be able to see him and that they would have to decide. After begging a rude receptionist over the phone who ignored my friend's pain and made his urgent need for help about her ("I'm sorry sir I do t know who you spoke to before but you don't need to take it out on me!") Someone came out and told us to take pictures of the burn and email them, and they *may* be able to see him in 2 hours. Keep in mind he has a bad burn and is in need of immediate treatment. We decided to leave and seek help at a pharmacy instead. Who knew you could get better help for free from the staff at CVS inside Target than the people at a an urgent care clinic... The website says the 5 physicians started this clinic to help patients with minor emergencies. Looks like they strayed from the path. We were treated like second class citizens here. If your care needs are urgent, I urge you to reconsider seeking help from Hilltop.

How someone like Shauni so incompetent can be in practice is beyond me. Went in with my elderly mom for a follow up of her Lab results and while at the appointment we requested a referral to Shasta Orthopedic due to my Moms hip and leg hurting and can't walk. Shauni was going over all my mother's meds. I raised a concern and asked Shauni why she changed one of my mom's meds to different formula. Shauni immediately blamed it on the pharmacy. My mother asked Shauni for a refill of her Alprazolam. Shauni refused to refill it, stating how she has NEVER prescribed it and it's no where in the prescription data base as being given to my mom. My Mom and Shauni continued to argue about the issue and I left the room. I wish I had my moms prescription bottle with us. I could've called Shauni right on the spot and proved how she gave my mom her last refill on 4/6/2025. (Photo attached) My mother is very forgetful and as her advocate Shauni was very agitated that I caught and called her on the prescription error and confirming that she in fact has refilled my mother's other prescription in the past. To the point Shauni asked me to be quiet that she is talking to my mother, not me! We got the X-ray order and left the office. We went to get the X-ray and had to go back to Shauni's office with a note from MD imaging stating that Shauni needs to be more specific on the area of my mom's right leg. Ex: r-hip, femur. We drove all the way back to Shauni's office with the x-ray order and note for Shauni to correct it. We got the corrected x-ray order went back to MD imaging and got refused again because she was not specific again and did not put down right hip, femur. Before we went back for the third time, we went to the pharmacy and got a print out (copy) showing that Shauni is the one who prescribed my mom the wrong medication that Shauni blamed the pharmacy on. We returned to Shauni's office for the 3rd time with the x-ray order for her to correct AGAIN!!! while there Shauni was right in the front office and I showed her the printout from the pharmacy where she ordered the wrong prescription. Shauni became rude towards me, shoved the paper back towards me, saying the pharmacy messed up and didn't even look at it. She then told me I'm not allowed to come back in with my mother anymore. I then handed her the x-ray order and told her she needed to correct it for the third time and maybe she can get it right this time. At this point, I knew I was never gonna have my mother return here again. We left and never got the corrected x-ray order. We went to the lab and got a print out of my moms lab results which showed she has high Glucose and BUN / Creatinine Ratio readings. Shauni never addressed or even looked at my mother's lab results which is why we were there in the 1st place!!!! The practice has a BIG turn around with employees which does not surprise me!!! Our day ended extremely blessed with a new appointment with a new provider for my mother.

Went in there to explain that I am a 47 yr old critical congestive heart failure patient that almost died 2 years ago that was forced into permanent disability and had no $ to pay them this $ and not one care in the world. Was told by Mrs. Williams that I was a very complex patient that required them to charge me anyway! Absolutely ridiculous. Will NEVER return here again nor have anything good to say. Was very abrupt and impatient with me in the exam and questioned my disability. Definitely no bedside manner or care for anyone's issues. Just trying to make a buck on whoever she can trap. Worst doctor visit in Redding yet!
