I can't. Say anything good about Dr. Royce. My mother Went to go see him. She is in her 70's.. Her neck was in No pain. They were charging her over $400 a month taking It out of her bank account in direct deposit. Putting her on a machine that pulled her neck. She mentioned it to him that I was hurting her neck. And he said it was going to be fine after a while. The pain just got worse. And now she is unable to turn her neck and she has to go to physical therapy. Three times a week. I can't recommend him as a good chiropractor. He took advantage of my mom took her money put her in a treatment that she didn't need and now she's in excruciating pain day and night. read more

I'm giving 5 stars for 3 reasons: To balance out the first 1-star review. Health care is expensive. Giving a business a 1 star because of this fact is unfair. Your review did not describe the service you received. To balance out the second 1-star review. This review of how this place is cult-like is very ridiculous. There is no secret that Chiropractic First is a Christian based business. So if this doesn't appeal to you, why go here? And because everyone here and the service is great. I don't know what techniques they use to remember your name, hobbies, etc. (maybe they take notes?) but it makes you feel valuable, and not like you're just another client. Everyone is very warm and sweet. I love this. Dr. Royse doesn't just adjust you, he educates you, explains everything he's doing and doesn't leave you in the dark about anything. For me it's $60 per adjustment. It's not cheap, but if I went to medical school for over 7 years, built my own business and have a family to take care, I'd charge the same thing. And this business gives back to the community, so you can feel good about spending your money here. read more

I've been in chiropractic care for most of my life, and Dr. Todd's specific adjustments have made an impact on my pain in ways other chiropractic hasn't. The staff is wonderful, they truly care and connect with you! I've been to two other chiro's in town. My wife is nurse and I work in mental health. I've never seen an other medical provider go to the lengths that Dr. Todd and his staff do. I've learned more about Heath and wellness here then all of my precious providers combined. Lots of people talk about how they're "committed to excellence" and "put the patient first". These guys don't need to talk about it- they own it. Dr. Todd not only believes the message of "a healing ministry", he has become the message, he breathes the message. He literally believes that chiropractics will save the world. Honestly, that level of commitment is rare and at times, overwhelming. But I wouldn't have it any other way- I had no idea I even had major back issues but when my wife was having problems I thought "maybe I should just get an x Ray". I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Todd Royse. He is a caring and attentive expert in chiropractic. I came to him after having a very bad back injury and he not only put me back together, but helped my spine become better than before the injury. His approach goes far beyond alignment. Chiropractic First is absolutely the BEST! Yes, it's expensive and worth every penny. In less than a month, I've gone from taking 4-8 Advil a day (for several years) to none. I have about a year of treatment ahead but I know that is what it will take to get my health back. My husband comments that he hasn't seen me so full of life in a long time. My sister recommended Dr. Todd to my husband and I when we moved here from the San Jose area in 2014. My sister moved up here from the Bay Area several years prior to us and Dr. Todd came highly recommended by the chiropractor she used in Campbell, CA. I have now been coming to Chiropractic First for well over a year and I am very happy with the level of service my husband and I receive. I am incredibly impressed by the bio-physics approach to spinal correction, where traction is being used in addition to adjustments to fully align the spinal column. There is also a rolfing expert on staff to help with soft-tissue issues. I've used all of these services over the past year and feel so much better now (in a huge way!). Dr. Todd also offers occasional workshops on living healthy (weight loss, exercise, eating right, etc). All of these workshops were very informative with a lot of new information I hadn't thought of or knew before....and he offers these for no additional cost! His support staff are also very knowledgeable and friendly. I have had to call in on occasion to reschedule appointments when my workload suddenly gets too heavy to come in. They are always so accommodating and understanding. It's such a relief to know that they will let me do that easily when I need to without fanfare! I recommend Chiropractic First to anyone who will listen to my long story of healing. I'll try to give you the short version. When I first met Dr. Todd Royce and his team I was dealing with constant pack pain every day. Like so many people I was looking for a magic pill or procedure that would "fix" my problem instantly. Dr. Todd explained to me that, among other things, sitting in chairs with bad posture for most of the first 40 years of my life I had been slowly deteriorating my spine from its optimum position. He explained how the reversal of all those years of "training" my spine into the wrong shape would take time, but that with modern chiropractic care techniques it would take a fraction of the time it took to get to where I was to get me closer to optimal health. After going through a program of healing specifically designed to return my spine to as close to optimal position as possible the daily pain in my back is now just a memory. Now, nearly 8 years after my initial visit with Dr. Todd, I continue to see him regularly to help me maintain, and even continue to improve, my spinal health. I won't lie to you; it is expensive to regularly visit a chiropractor, and most health insurance companies only cover small amounts of that cost. But it has been worth every penny I have paid to maintain the level of wellness I currently enjoy. read more

Ive been going to Dr. Todd for about Three months and when i first started i was apprehensive because of years of going to other chiropractors and never seeing any change, nor having Xrays ever ordered, maybe cause they all assumed because i was younger there wasn't a chance of me actually experiencing the pain i was describing, but from my first visit Dr. Todd listened to my complaints of years of back pain and even said some things i never knew could be related to my back pain!! After a few months of going religiously and sticking to the plan we set up my back had moved! I can stand for long periods of time without having the eminence pain i had before, i was even able to hike Castle Crags a few weeks ago with no pain! I have more energy and i have almost no head aches, i could go on and on of the many good things that have come from seeing Dr. Todd! Thank you for giving me my quality of life back! read more

The docs here go out of their way to work with you and get you better. they've worked with my wife and helped her get rid of her daily migraines. And after herniating a disc in my neck, doctors said that I needed to cut out running, climbing, and lifting weights. Dr. Todd and Dr. Perry are both jocks, so they know how unacceptable that is. They worked for months on my rehab, and I'm back outside and having fun again. I can't thank these guys enough. read more

A disappointment. I've been to lots of chiropractors, and this place was recommended to me since I've been having pregnancy-specific complaints. If you're looking to show up for your appointment, get an adjustment, and go home feeling better, you probably won't get that here. After an hour an a half, all I had was another appointment - not for an adjustment, but to view my postural photos & discuss a treatment plan. They also couldn't tell me if my insurance will work. A lot of the consultation was spent on old injuries that aren't my focus, and injuries that haven't even happened yet were brought up in the context of "if we don't fix this, it's going to cause lots of problems!". They're definitely looking for lifetime treatment members. Also...there's obviously a lot of money here. Fanciest digs I've ever seen outside a plastic surgeon's office. Yet at the same time, the office is full of Inquisition-like devices with patients strung up in weird ways. If it works, ok, but I wouldn't want to be on display like that. Speaking of which, I found it odd that there was no privacy even between treatment rooms...just thin curtains. read more

I don't normal leave bad reviews, but this place irritates me. Yes the are very nice and I'm sure they have some great successes, but I wish they were more up front. I asked multiple times if they took my insurance and if it would be covered (and mine is a VERY common insurance in this area). They were very vague but said I should be able to submit it to my insurance. They had us come in several times to discuss a plan and every time it was come in again and we will talk about the plan.... I'm sorry but after 3 visits and spending like 2 hours there each time we should have a plan by now. When they asked us to come in a 4th time to discuss the plan that was the final straw... I don't have time to spend going that much when you could have gone over it already by now! So basically I just wasted $530 on nothing! Just a bunch of xrays.... Then of course my insurance paid nothing. I'm sorry but if you have a health care business you should be able to give your patient a clue if it really will be covered or not! I have been under the care of several chiropractors over the span of about 30 years and Dr. Todd is the most thorough, knowledgeable and kindhearted I have had the privilege of being treated by. I have suffered with genetic alignment issues in my upper back and neck that caused cronic pain and created stiffness, headaches and overall weakness in that region. In June I was in a head on collision which complicated the existing condition so that I could no longer support the weight of my head part way through the day but had to recline for the remainder of the day. It was frustrating and scary not knowing what was wrong. I was referred to Dr. Todd. He had x-rays taken, evaluated my situation, developed a treatment plan and went over his findings with me. It was evident that there were serious alignment issues and degeneration of the spine. I was eager to get my mobility and strength back and so we started treatment. I was shown how to do my part of the work at home which required a little time each day using the implements he provided and I was seen regularly in his office. After a period of about 2 weeks I began to notice a difference and somewhere between 4 to 6 weeks I began to feel much improved. I continued with my homework and making the office visits and today I feel better than I did pre-accident! I can actually say I am thankful for that accident because it led me to Dr. Todd and his wonderful staff. My previous back/neck issues pertaining to alignment were never properly addressed or treated by the previous chiropractors and so I suffered needlessly for so many years.
