Through it all, I've learned something important: It's the little things that make the biggest difference. It's the people in our communities. The neighbors who wave. The strangers who ask how you're doing. The nurses who care for your child. The workers who quietly clean hospital rooms. The teachers, dentists, barbers, grocery store employees, church members, and friends who may never realize how much their kindness means. We all impact one another more than we know. Yesterday, after bringing my daughter home from the hospital, I was exhausted--physically, emotionally, and mentally. A little while later, my son came into my room after getting his haircut at Top Shelf Barber. Jaxon had cut his hair, and I honestly couldn't believe how great it looked. Jaxon always does an amazing job, but this one was especially good. My son looked so handsome, and more importantly, he was absolutely glowing with confidence and excitement. That moment reminded me of something I've been thinking about a lot lately: we need each other. We live in a culture where people are quick to leave bad reviews, tear others down, or talk behind someone's back. But what if we chose something different? What if we had the hard conversations when needed, showed grace, offered encouragement, and looked for opportunities to build people up instead of tearing them down? As Christians, we're called to love our neighbors as ourselves and to be a light in the world. That doesn't mean we always agree. It means we choose kindness, respect, honesty, and grace, even when it's difficult. If something isn't right, talk to people. Help them improve. But when someone does something well, tell them. Leave the review. Give the compliment. Offer the handshake. Share the smile. So this is my thank you to Top Shelf Barber and especially to Jackson. Thank you for caring about your craft. Thank you for helping a young man feel confident. Thank you for being one of those people who make a positive difference in the lives of others, whether you realize it or not. She bleached and toned my hair to a nice beige like I wanted. Although $280 is a lot for me to spend, it looked great when I left the salon. Nicole said to think of it as an "INVESTMENT". Nine days later the pretty beige turned back to brassy orangy blonde after 2 washes - just like temporary color does. When I messaged Nicole she told me that their salon only gives a ONE WEEK guarantee. I wish I would have known that going in; I would have gone to a reputable salon.

My experience Friday was not great-in fact, if I wrote a review Friday I would have given them 2 stars. The male stylist who cut my hair Friday did really good work, but he took 3 separate phone calls during my haircut. Holding my hair in one hand, and his personal cell in the other. It wasn't the store phone. Each phone call lasted two or three minutes. I was not happy about that. But the cut was good. Service could use some work. Granted, my appointment was at 7 and they got me in at 6:30 because I showed up early. So, I also wanted highlights but there wasn't time during my Friday appointment, so I made a return appointment for Tuesday to come in and do my highlights. On Tuesday, I went in to my appointment which was at 5 but I didn't get in till 5:15. So I got my dye put in and then sat to the side to let it dry. My stylist was Silvia, and while I was waiting she had a few other people come in. They knew her by name and she knew them, she seems to have a pretty good client base and her customer service is on point! She has people come in just to see her. When it was my turn to finish up, she rinsed my hair out and my highlights looked amazing!! I showed her a picture from Pinterest of the type of look I was going for and she totally nailed it, my hair looks and feels amazing, better than any stylist I've been to before and tried to have them do the same thing. So I'm very happy with it now :) I have a stylist that I think I can finally return to in the future. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who wants a very friendly, professional, and savvy stylist! She gave me some styling tips on how to style my type of hair and knew exactly what I needed to do. I had a wonderful experience!!!
