I just felt intimidated. He would say one thing and do something else. But what got me was him not cleaning up the small pile of roofing shingles because he didn't want to separate it from the other things. I rarely use hauling services but this time I needed someone to remove a large concrete water fountain that had reached the end of it's useful life. It was 4 pieces and weighed way too much for me plus I don't own a pickup truck. I called Shasta Strong on Monday and Jose, the owner actually answered the phone. Withing minutes I had an appointment for this morning, Wednesday. Jose and his son showed up at 8 AM sharp, right on time and had the fountain in his truck shortly after. He also removed a large pile of old wood fencing and old T-111 siding that had been removed from the house. Jose was timely, efficient, professional and his price was very reasonable. First he was supposed to show up and give a quote.Next thing we knew they were ready to work and loading stuff, which was fine but we weren't fully ready with all our stuff pulled out. He came with his trailer already half full with stuff that they had to move around to load our trash. When he was done he said he would be back on Monday at 7am to finish the job. We ended up calling and asking if the price would go up if we added things because he started earlier then planned and we didn't have everything we wanted thrown away out. He said no so we went through our shed and made a pile. He needed up coming back Tuesday and then said the price was going up another 250. Just seems like he was pulling the wool over our eyes as much as possible due to being a single woman. Just disappointed in the pricing aspect as well as the communication of it all. If the trailer was empty to begin with I'm sure almost all if not all of our stuff would have fit into one load. read more
