We had the pleasure of having Sharon motel sit our pups recently while staying in Cambria. She spent a few hours with our German Shepherd and Lab mix while we visited Hearst Castle in the evening. I planned a trip to Big Sur and also decided to take a tour of Hearst Castle. The night before my trip I found out that dogs were not allowed on the Castle premise. I did a quick google search and found Sharon's Joy. I called her and she penciled me in. She gave me great information about where to meet and was there right on time. She met me at the beach right in front of the Hearst Castle Visitor Center. I have a very friendly Yorkie (Charlie) and a skittish Miniature Dachshund (Pepper). Both quickly took to her and the exchange went very well. My tour was only 2 hours long and in that time she took them around town and for a walk on the beach. She met me back at the meeting location and was overwhelmed at the joy my dogs had brought to her. Sharon was great! We were in San Simeon, like many people, just to go to Hearst's Castle. She met us that morning at our hotel. Sophie took about 30 seconds to check her out and then was fine. Sharon took Sophie to the beach, back to her house for a bit and then back to the beach again. She brought Sophie up to the Castle to meet us so we wouldn't have to back track on our trip up the coast. She is just as sweet as could be and Sophie was happy to see us but not too happy, which is just right :) I wish there was a Sharon in my own town, I would have Sophie visit her all the time. ***Best Experience Ever** Sharon made our trip to the Central Coast complete with her award winning smile and dog whisperer abilities. We were apprehensive about leaving our 5 chihuahuas in the motor home with anyone let alone a stranger 300 miles away from our home. We were visiting the central coast with our 2 dogs and our daughter's dog. Sharon Joy is an absolute Godsend! I booked a getaway for my wife and I in Cambria right after New Years, and we originally planned for our two dogs to stay at home with our usual pet sitter. However, our pet sitter wound up with the scheduling conflict, and we were stuck trying to figure out where our girls could stay (we booked at the Blue Dolphin Inn which didn't allow dogs of their size).
