Yes, they are trying for southern charm but the basics cannot be overlooked. The additional charges for things is ridiculous. When I walked in the door, it wasn't a hello, I was greated with do you know our polices. See yellow sign in photos. Charges, for evrything. Look at the menu, extra charges for small items. I tried to order the chicken dinner and was told they do not cook it on Sundays. Only wings on Sunday? WHAT? Isn't Sundays when people come for a family dinner? The service level was nice at the table, so I had no problem with the mandatory 18% added to the bill. She was polite and nice and earned her tip. I actually gave her additional money. The ambiance is noisey. Be prepared to talk little louder than normal. The activity level makes it noisey. I've tried this place twice, I think that's a wrap. No more.

Our server was really nice and even though she forgot the extra bread and water fill ups - we were treated nicely. And our food came out in perfect timing. Our food came with a side and also soup so we ordered the lobster bisque. I liked the taste of it but the lobster and onions were diced up and there was so much of it that it just didn't taste good. Onto the entrees I ordered the chicken Marsala and it came with two good sized chicken breasts and I opted for the fettuccine Alfredo on the side. Overall I give it a 7/10 - it hit the mark but wasn't impressive. We also ordered the Parmesan crusted 8 oz filet for $35. We asked for medium but it came out medium rare. Was a bit bland but we ate it. Overall we won't be back for a while but it's a good place to try when you want some Italian from an old school joint.

I ordered catfish and my two colleagues ordered fried chicken that they could not finish. The catfish was very expensive ($21 with 2 sides) but at least edible. Fried chicken isn't rocket science and when it's clearly dried out from being refried maybe several times, you have failed as a restaurant.

This year we went earlier hoping to have a better experience. Even though the room was not nearly half way filled we were seated next to the bus station. Lucky us. That form of communication seemed to be the norm as staff frequently shouted across the room to each other, Our wait staff and bus boy were very efficient and removed dishes and refilled drinks. The food was a mixed bag. The soup and salad bar were excellent. Lots of choices and well stocked. The "hot" food was in two large steam tables. One contained mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, green beans and shrimp alfredo. All of the food in this section was cold. The other section had fried cod, fried catfish, crab cakes, fried shrimp and fried chicken. These selections were warm, but dry and a bit rubbery. It was nice to see so many diners seemed to be regulars, but it isn't for us.

When I walked in there were a few people waiting. I noticed that they no longer allowed people to dine in. The place does look like it does need a little updating. I was greeted when I walked up even though it was one person at the register taking orders, answering the phone and passing out orders. I ordered Beef Fried Rice, Beef Egg Foo Yung which is my normal order anywhere and on Tik Tok The lady suggested getting Garlic sauce which I did. The Fried Rice and Egg Foo Yung had plenty of meat in it and it was flavorful. The garlic sauce was okay and I feel like It wasn't something I had to have in order to make it better. Price point was average. Overall, It was okay not better than my original spot but I would come back.
