He quoted window replacement (for a significant amount less than an out of town company quoted a couple years ago), skirting replacement, and replacing a couple of siding panels. There was a miscommunication about the scheduled start date and they were short some skirting materials that extended the finish date. The crew (Henry and Greg) were polite, considerate, and skilled. They never left the house open - as quick as they pulled a window out they had a new one in - and even though they couldn't finish the skirting they used other material to keep the underside closed until they did finish. And the trim they installed around the inside of the windows looks great! Dave came by when the work was done to inspect the job and collect the check, waiting until the job was all the way finished to ask for payment. I called this company to schedule an appointment for an estimate on repairing the damage. The owner answered the phone right away. When I explained what I needed, he listened carefully and after talking to me a few minutes, let me know that what I needed was done by a different company. He looked up that number, explained who that company was that he was referring me to and gave me their number. He did all this knowing he was probably not going to benefit financially. I suggest that if you want an honest, local company who truly follows The Golden Rule that this company is the one to call. Please support local businesses any time you can.

1/5 -- We needed a second opinion, not a sales presentation…read moreA technician from Absolute came to our home through American Home Shield after we requested a second opinion on our AC claim. He was fully aware that this was a home-warranty service call and that we were seeking an independent second opinion after AHS denied our claim. We also happen to carry two home warranties and were comparing the coverage each company would provide for the same AC failure. Unfortunately, our experience with Absolute felt much more like receiving a sales lead than receiving an independent diagnostic evaluation. During the visit, the technician told us we "might" get approved for a replacement through AHS, but characterized what AHS might provide as essentially builder-grade and said it would "only be enough to get the job done." He then spent approximately 20-30 minutes discussing why we should purchase a larger/upgraded system instead. We felt obligated to sit through an extensive sales presentation while waiting for what we thought was supposed to be a second diagnostic opinion. What makes this particularly frustrating is what happened afterward. A day or two later, while the temperature inside our home was around 90 degrees, I contacted Absolute because we hadn't received an update. I was eventually told that the technician had placed our claim "on hold" because he was "waiting to hear back from us" and "knew our claim was going to be denied." That was incredibly upsetting. If the technician believed from his visit that our warranty claim would be denied, we should have been told. Instead, we spent additional days believing a second-opinion determination was being processed while apparently the contractor was waiting to see whether we would purchase equipment. We weren't sitting in a 90-degree house trying to decide whether to buy an upgraded AC from Absolute. We were comparing coverage between two home warranty companies. When I explained this to the office, the conversation became defensive, and I repeatedly had to make clear that we were not purchasing an AC system from Absolute. We ultimately contacted our other home warranty company and told them to proceed. They had already approved our condenser replacement and immediately moved the process forward. The most frustrating part is that we had a backup option. Absolute's handling of this second-opinion visit contributed to approximately another week without working AC when we could have simply proceeded with our already-approved replacement. I really feel for homeowners who don't have that option. Most people don't maintain two home warranties. When someone's AC is out during a Texas summer, they're depending on the dispatched contractor to diagnose the equipment and promptly report the findings to the warranty company. A home-warranty service call should not leave the homeowner wondering whether the priority was completing an independent diagnosis or converting the service call into an equipment sale. Thankfully, we had another warranty company and another path forward. We will not use Absolute for our replacement.

On August 20, 2024 I was privileged to show up to my house to learn about an interaction between…read more"the Great Ben" (according to the BS fabricated reviews) and my fiancé. I was informed that while I was at work, Mr. Ben showed up to my house while my fiancé was home alone and the manner on how he approached her was already strange to begin with. While she was in the back yard she noticed Ben walking through the alley and come into back gate, he stated that he was here to check out the neighbors AC unit that just so happened to be in our backyard. She told him that was fine and let him in the back gate to our yard and stated that she was going to head inside and that is where the interaction between the two of them SHOULD have stopped. Forcing my fiancé into conversation, Ben proceeds to go into personal details about about his life informing her that he is either currently going through or fixing to go through a divorce with his wife trying to make it very well known that he is single. Along with this, he goes into specifics about everything he owns from a nice truck and trailer to how's he a very nice guy yada yada yada. At this point, this is beyond inappropriate and Mr. Ben should know this considering he gets paid to go household to house hold and should know what professional etiquette means. By now my fiancé is feeling beyond uncomfortable and awkward with the entire situation and is sending me text messages asking me to please hurry home from work and mind you at this moment I'm unfamiliar with everything that's been going on other than the fact that she feels uncomfortable. Everything stated above was filled in to fit the timeline from before I got home and learned after I got home. What I did personally witness was when I pulled into my driveway, I saw Ben walking out from under my carport and exiting my back gate. To my surprise when I walk in the door I see a lovely note that Mr. Ben personally hand wrote and left for little ol' me between my storm door and front door (I can only assume it was left for me because why else would Mr.Ben feel the need to talk to my Fiancé about an air conditioner that belongs to the neighbor). I later learned this note was placed there after Mr. Ben kept closing the distance that my fiancé was trying to establish by walking backward towards the door only to have Ben take a step forward to match it! She stated that when she was eventually able to get into the door, Ben FINALLY after about 10 minutes of making her feel uncomfortable went into the backyard to "check" on the neighbors A/C unit (Considering the fact he was back there less than a minute leads me to believe that he wasn't here to really work on anything or at least anything that involved being inside my fence). She said that she couldn't help but peer out the peep hole in hopes he would quickly finish the job and leave. "Quickly finish" he did, and instead of seeing him leave, she sees persistent Mr.Ben come out of the back yard walk straight up to the door, stand there for a few minutes (which seeing from inside the house through the peep hole scared the hell out of her), open our storm door, close it and then leave. Luckily, she refused to walk back outside until I arrived so I was the fortunate one to receive the note which contained the lucky 10 digits in how to get ahold of Mr. Ben and a cute little note that says "If you ever want to talk call me!!" With the double use of exclamation points which tells me he is very eager to talk to me! So you can understand how upset I was to call only to be sent to voicemail. Mr. Ben if you happen to see this review, I would really love to know what it was you would like to talk about!!!! (quadruple exclamation points so you know I'm excited too!). When arriving at the store office, she had communicated a completely wrong coloring of wood. We were able to correct before it is to be installed, thank goodness. Communication is key. Listen to your customer! Don't believe your words are more important than your customer's words. In a few weeks the island will be completed and I have no doubt, it will be perfect.
