    LKS Auto Sales - 2013 Ford F150

    LKS Auto Sales

I went to LKS to see a used Ford F150 they advertised online. I drove down from Tracy because the…read moread showed a truck that fit what I was looking for pretty exact. When I reached out online Kevin responded right away and we set up a next day test drive of the vehicle. When I arrived Kevin greeted me, her was very polite, he showed me to the truck answered any questions, retrieved the keys and left me with the vehicle to inspect it at my leisure. After a short inspection I asked him if I could test drive the vehicle and he took a copy of my license and let me take the truck. During the test drive I did a hard acceleration and noticed a sputter with some significant power loss and the check engine light flashed on- it was a misfire. I drove back and let Kevin know what happened and that unfortunately I wasn't interested. He was very apologetic and asked me to wait before leaving and hooked up his scanner to see what was wrong and it was a misfire. He changed it the spark plug from the misfiring cylinder and we went on another test drive and the issue was gone. I liked the truck and the scanner didn't show any other problems so I decided to buy it. Kevin informed me that if the problem came back even though he was selling me a used car as is he would fix it or he would take the car back which from a smaller dealership I've NEVER heard before. We finalize the deal do the paper work and I drive off. During my two and a half hour drive back it happened again so I texted Kevin and let him know, long story short hex was polite and professional and honored his promise. I got the truck home and within the next few days I decided to use my scan tool to see what the issue was and it showed a misfire in the number two and four cylinders so I changed the spark plugs in all of them which I usually do anytime I buy a used vehicle anyway and all codes cleared the truck has been running great now for about a month. I called Kevin to let him know and he was happy it worked it and offered to pay for the repair which I declined. Kevin is a stand up guy, and if I find itself in need of another used car I'll gladly do business with him again. Here's one thing people need to consider though when buying a used car, especially from a small dealer. These vehicles are used they're not certified pre-owned they're usually inspected to make sure they're legal to be put on the road and minor repairs are done. You're delaying with a small business that's trying to make money and most of them aren't going to spend extra money to make sure every major repair is completed because their customer base cannot afford or do not have the credit worthiness to buy those types of vehicles. I could've gone to a certified dealer but I found this specific truck and honestly I expected more issues than what I've had so far. Bottom line I usually don't trust used car dealers but Kevin showed here would make things right during and after the sale. I can't recommend him enough!

I found Kevin on Craigslist many years ago. I can honestly say that at no time did I ever feel…read morepressured to purchase. He was a great guy. Understanding of our situation. Told us that if we wanted to look around more til we were sure he respected that. He had so many offers on this car. Our last two pre-owned cars we felt pressured and ended up making a bad decision. So like he said the choice is yours. It's for sale and I know you're interested, he let us leave and shop around. Within an hour I called him back and told him I want to purchase it. I'll be back tomorrow. He knew I was a young college student needing reliable transportation back and forth to school. He said it's not just selling a car to him, it's an investment in my future. And Everytime I get in this same car now I'm always grateful to him for being understanding and an overall wonderful person.

Having read the reply, here is mine…read more They had claimed it cost $1500 to ship a vehicle from Fresno to the Oregon Coast. $1500 is what it costs to ship a vehicle from the East Coast to the West Coast. A bit of research on my end showed the cost to ship from Fresno to the Oregon Coast is $500. This business does not know their own business and the leadership is not smart enough to find out the particulars. The objective in sales is TO MAKE THE SALE. This does involve negotiations. It also requires flexibility. These attributes are MIA at this dealership. They did show plenty of 'tude though! Had they taken a more positive approach, a sale was possible and since I had my best friend making a trip from the Oregon Coast to SoCal, he could have stopped by, traded in my car, picked up the one I wanted and there would have been a sale made. 2 months after I tried and was unable to deal with such a difficult dealership, the car I wanted finally did sell. That represents 2 months of dead money. Make sales quickly, get the money back plus some profit, buy another vehicle and keep the ball rolling! That is how to do it. Those 2 months are now gone FOREVER. What remains is my bad feelings over the experience with this dealership. Remember folks, they told me that it would be better for them to watch a vehicle collect dust on the lot than to make deals. Do you really want to do business with this kind of business? Adding some to the dealership's second reply: The $500 shipping rate from Fresno to the Oregon Coast was found by using a search engine to look up vehicle shipping companies. If you are paying $500 to ship a vehicle from LA to Fresno, you are overpaying. Go down to a temporary employment agency. Hire some drivers to take to the auction. $100 or so for the driver, $40 or less for the gas and a stop at In-N-Out for a meal comes out a lot less than $500. The best time to sell is when you have a willing buyer. You failed to cash in and get the sale. The objective is to get to YES. You think you can dictate to the market what the price is? eBay is full of unsold listings where sellers try this kind of move. Those who let the market forces decide the value work though. It's called capitalism. This system seems to work rather well! Anyways, all it will take is someone reading this review and our exchanges to realize that your dealership is difficult to work with.

Absolutely the Best Dealership Around - 3-Time Repeat Customer!…read moreIf I could give Own A Car Fresno ten stars, I would. This is by far the best car-buying experience you will ever find. I just bought my third vehicle from them, and once again, they have proven exactly why I will never go anywhere else. I know this might sound like a commercial, but it is the honest, ethical truth. I used to work as a Drive-ability line mechanic/technician for Dodge/DaimlerChrysler Jeep, so having been in the automotive business for years, I can easily spot character and integrity in a dealership. In this day and age it is a rare thing to find, and when you encounter a business that treats you as well as Own A Car Fresno does, it is absolutely worth the time to put it out there so other people can experience it for themselves. From start to finish, the team treats you like family. A huge, special shout-out to JR, Katherine, and Emily--they were all absolutely fantastic, professional, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. They don't just give you the absolute best deals in town; they actually care about you after you drive off the lot. On my recent purchase, they went completely above and beyond, bending over backwards to fix an unforseen issue with the four-wheel drive. They weren't obligated to fix it, but they did it anyway, completely out of pocket, just to ensure I was taken care of and happy. That is the definition of true customer service and integrity. If you want an honest, stress-free experience, the best prices, and a team that genuinely wants to keep you as a customer for life, go see JR, Catherine, and Emily at Own A Car Fresno. They have earned my loyalty, not for just the professional personal service but for backing it up with deeds done. Give Own A Car Fresno a visit and see for yourselves what an outstanding customer service oriented Dealership experience is like!
