We enjoyed the Share House's weekend bustle as we were also "about town." We ordered a few rounds of drinks, the cheese dip, empanadas, Mac and cheese, and tacos. All dishes were "just okay"and well presented. Service was short-staffed, but quick on the follow ups. We'd like to see the Share House increase their higher dollar offerings. Yes, we'd gladly pay $25 (versus $17) for a taco plate that's fuller and bursting with flavor. We understand that downtown is pricy and most people just want (or need) to drink, but yes, there are those of us who enjoy eating AND drinking before heading to the uptown clubs.

I came here on a Thursday for happy hour and this place has a pretty good happy hour. They have certain apps for $3 and certain drinks for $8. The place also has daily deals as well (on Thursdays twisted teas are $4). I ordered the Mexican street corn and I was expecting a corn on the cob but it was kernels in a skillet and that definitely threw me off. It was delicious nevertheless.

Great bar and restaurant! The atmosphere is great here! The bartenders are all so friendly. They have the best orange crushes in town! They used fresh squeezed oranges for them! The tuna wonton nachos are amazing! If you're looking for a good Bloody Mary here is your spot as well. Great seating selection with indoor and outdoor tables.

Coming out of the parking garage next door, I was so excited to have lunch here before the Christmas parade. A DJ was playing and it wasn't crowded. I had an orange crush here before and loved the freshness of it, so I had to get it again this time. However, after two sips of it... Our food came and as the server handed my food over to me, my elbow knocked over the entire cup. I thought the server was going to rush over to grab a towel or napkins, but never did. I didn't see any servers or waiters nearby, so I went up to the bar to ask for a towel or rag to clean up the spill. The bartender kindly handed me a clean towel to use. When my waitress came to check on us, I told her that my entire drink spilled on the table and floor. I didn't want another drink, but just wanted her to be aware that the floor was wet. After the spill, I figured the drink wasn't meant to be and I was fine with my cup of water. Instead, she brought over another drink for me and did nothing about the floor. Well, when I got the check, she charged me for the second drink. I didn't even want that second cup, but accepted it figuring she automatically got it for me as a courtesy. Anyway, I was really disappointed with how that was all handled. I probably won't be back since I was really turned off by the service. As for the food the empanadas were really good and my kids loved the chicken tenders. The fries were plentiful and we would've been better off sharing one basket instead of each of my kids ordering one. Even with me taking some from both their baskets, they each still had plenty leftover.

I went with my brother who is visiting from out of town and two kids. It's a cute place and the temperature made it nice to be sitting outside. The main thing that took away from the experience was the lack of good customer service. Several notes were missed about how we wanted our food to be prepared. Our waitress did take a percentage off of the bill, but the damage to the experience was already done. We weren't asked if we wanted more drinks when ours ran out which we were happy to pay for. A few of the staff members (possibly college students) were just sitting around hanging out. I did enjoy my truffle burger after scrapping off the onions. My brother rated this place a 2 star. He said his fries tasted like they have been cooked in grease that had been used to cook something else. I would probably go back to see if my experience would be better if I happen to be in the area. It's right across from the children's museum.

Share house is the sister restaurant of Bodega but they are very different concepts. While bodega is a restraint , share house is a bar and party hall. The decorations are really cool and instagram worthy and the setup with open windows is really welcoming. The place does turn into a party at night and weekends with a DJ And live bands, which is really fun , but the rest of the time it has an interesting and appealing food menu. We came during March madness once and although the tvs were showing the games, it was hard to focus because of the crowds dancing to DJ music . It was a lot of fun for those of us who didn't care about the games, those who wanted to watch sports were not that excited On our second visit we had the restaurant experience and sat outside on the patio. We ordered the ahi tuna nachos and the hush puppies to go along with our drinks and they not only came out super fast but they were delicious . I wish the hush puppies had more of the cream and cheese sauce because they were a bit dry towards the end. The waitress and staff were very welcoming and nice.

Share House (and sister restaurant Bodega) are new restaurants that just opened downtown near the Charleston visitor center. The layout is great for this wonderful Spring weather with the whole open air seating area. The poke tuna nachos were awesome - basically an open faced poke bowl with ahi tuna, mango, sriracha mayo, sesame seeds, topped over potato chips. I've eaten at least 100 poke bowls in my lifetime but this was a new way to have the dish and it was so good. If you're a seltzer drinker you'll be happy to know that they carry High Noon's which uses vodka instead of malt liquor like Truly or White Claw. Because of this, High Noon's have a smoother and crisper taste. Overall I really loved the layout, food, and drink selections here. This is definitely an awesome hangout spot and I highly recommend checking it out!

Just happened upon this place on our way to the Music Hall for an event. Wow! Impressive. One side was DJ driven with loud music and looked like a good time and the other side was full of sports fans watching the Alabama Georgia game and other sports events. $6 for a Lite is a little high for my blood but I am guessing many places downtown now charge that. Otherwise we really found it to be a nice place with great facilities.

Burgers are a bit "smashed" and had a nice, crisp sear to them and good flavor. Pickles were a gourmet, fresh style and the sauce was like a savory Russian dressing with strong dill flavor. I wish the bun wasn't so buttered but that's a personal preference. The fries though? Top tier. Super crispy but creamy and smooth on the inside, just enough Cajun seasoning and salt to make me want to shovel them into my mouth forever. And the price? An outstanding value for downtown Charleston. $60 before tip for 3 burgers and fries and a drink. Even less if you get there at happy hour. If you're getting food, definitely try the blistered green beans, poutine, and the farmer's salad (which is like a Cobb salad/bowl, it's amazing) *but* my all-time fave is the fried chicken sandwich - it's honestly one of the best l've ever had in Charleston. Also, this place is huge so they were able to accommodate my friend's post-wedding party (about 20 people) at the last minute and we had a blast. Everywhere else we tried to go either didn't have the space for us or were closing so it totally made our night! We just made sure to call ahead to check and they were more than happy to have us - the bride was happy so you know it was good :) Bottom line, the Peacock is a local gem hidden in plain sight on East Bay and, as a local, it's become one of my top go-to's in Charleston. You can't beat the prices (seriously), ambience, quality, and awesome staff. They also have live music every week so they know how to keep it classy and lively at the same time. As a bonus, there's a nightclub on the second floor that gets lively on weekends, so the fun doesn't have to stop after dinner. Everyone just fits in, no matter if you're the black sheep! Seating is a little limited, but worth the wait. I guess the first person I ran into was a manager, he introduced himself, (legit, "Hi my name is Bryan" and shook my hand!) (Post Script, the handshake is pervasive here, literally both bartenders were introduced to me and both came up and shook my hand.) I had checked this place out from other Yelp reviews and already knew I wanted the Fish and Chips, so after my beer order, I was shocked and awed that without asking, he brought the Malt Vinegar! You know it's gonna be the bomb already! The fish arrived very quickly! Bruh...this fish was legit. A large solo iceberg of fried perfection crested upon a wave of fresh made "chips " and they were clearly fresh made, not the frozen variety. The beer batter on this fish was so good I was in heaven. I thought it might be heavy and greasy, and yet somehow it held only flavor, crunch, and absorbed my Malt Vinegar to perfection. This place is packed with regulars and it clearly seems to attract other service industries personnel. All good signs of a good time! This may have been my first visit, but won't be my last!
