RECOMMENDED: Nice black own Chicago based restaurant offering authentic food. FOOD: Very good. The fries & Italian beef was hearty! It was soooooo much meat...I ate off of this for like 3 days. I wanted some tacos and happened to stumble on this place and I was not disappointed!! I loved the jerk chicken tacos they are delicious!! The service was very helpful as there were a lot of things on the menu, but check it out. There isn't a lot of space inside, but they are quick with preparing and you can have a seat! read more

I was in the area and this was one of the closed food place near me so I decided to check it out with my sis. The menu is written on a chalkboard overhead so no menu. It's a stand at the counter and place and order kinda place. I wasn't sure how the meals or singles selections worked but the cashier was nice enough to share that we get one entree with two sides. I ordered the pork chops, smack n cheese, and greens. My sister order the rib tips, smack and cheese and greens. So the bathroom was out of toilet paper so I was able to replace it. As for the food I cannot say it was very good. My sister didn't enjoy her rib tips nor did I enjoy the pork chops. The smacaroni was about the best thing. read more

My business partner and I stumbled on this hidden gym yesterday, and vowed to return today and eat; it was so worth it. Come to find out the chef is not only a Chicago native, as am I, but is related to southside barbecue royalty in our hometown. My BP said it was some of the best barbecue she's ever eaten. The only thing that was left to do after our meal was returned to our respective hotel to take a nap ... He made me proud today. #YumYum. read more

The food is always fresh and delicious! Always consistent! We've had the oxtail tails, which are amazing, the best wings, catfish scrumptious, and the turkey with dressing like grandma's. The smack and cheese is indescribable! The meal is always served with a smile. read more

So I ordered a sandwich on Friday night and paid over the phone. Unfortunately I was in a study group for my jcat exams for the next morning. I called and explained and instead of voiding the purchase and returning my money, she said she will be there all week and I can come grab my sandwich later. I wanted to support the business so I was like okay. Saturday to Monday I had a fever and you know how that is, I literally almost passed out after my 3 hour exam. They are closed Monday and Tuesday, so Wednesday I call right after work at 4:30 and they decline to give me my already paid for sandwich, saying too much time has gone by. Everytime I go to this restaurant I had a problem with their food and I have expressed it to the owner Shar and I was told to bring the food back and when I brought the food back the owner Shar herself started yelling at me and berates me in front of all her customers. I told her don't worry about the three day old microwaved sausage that came with the Italian beef I ordered for 15 dollars and began to proceed to leave the restaurant and she follows me out the restaurant in a threating manner. It is safe to say I wont be back there and neither will the 15 or more customers I have sent there as well. Everyone i sent there had a problem the food wasn't right or too old or the prices were too high. They have lost several customers today due to the owner's behavior. read more

I went to this restaurant and got really old food giving to myself and mom. I went to complain and the owner became loud and disrespectful. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. This isn't a Chicago authentic food restaurant as it claims. They wouldn't give a refund but they did replace the food. Why would they think I would eat anything else from them when they owner lady yelling and screaming in the back. Don't buy food them and I would be reporting them to the food inspectors. read more

I ordered from this restaurant via DoorDash. I order from DoorDash all the time so to see a new place available i wanted to try it out. To make a long story short when my door dash driver arrived to pick up the order , he was told that she doesn't have the devices to receive the the order and she doesn't even know why her restaurant is on DoorDash . Which i didn't understand ( i had never had that happen before on DoorDash had already paid ect) , so i asked to speak to the owner . This lady was soo defensive and rude and very nasty off the back . She didn't offer an apology , she just kept saying "that's door dash problem" even though the whole menu was offered and i was able to pay for the meal and all.. ( i confirmed with DoorDash that they only offer restaurants that have agreed to be on their app) . I'm not sure if she just didn't have the equipment set up to receive the orders or it truly was a mishap . REGARDLESS.. In no way did she try to mend the problem. She just wanted to argue. She could have simply asked what i ordered and i would've drove to get it because i really wanted to try the grapes and ribs . At one point i mentioned i was trying to support her business and she said " support by coming in not through door dash". To see others have been treated the same is very sad. You can tell by her responses on here she likes to argue . The only reason i wrote this review is because i see on here she is making it seem like others are trying to sabotage her business when we all have tried to support and you are just rude . I was very nice to you and you went off on me (i mean OFF ! ) over the phone lol . Please take some accountability and listen to your consumers instead of being defensive. Food tastes just like back home in Chicago! I've probably tried everything on the menu at this point. The whole restaurant has a friendly atmosphere from the owner down to the workers. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Chicago style food or even want to try it. The homemade lemonade is my favorite and highly recommend it. read more

Thought I'd patronize a black owned business in my neighborhood. Let my experience keep you from wasting your money. The jerk wings were burnt to a crisp, the rib tips had no flavor and it cost me $30.... Stay far away from this establishment. read more
