The weak spot in this restaurant. They don't have olives for martinis. The don't have any idea how to make a cosmo. If you keep your drink orders simple you'll be ok. Nice ambiance. Lots of loud soul music.

My friends have tried attending and found the music level too loud & left. If it's supposed to be a restaurant, then maybe save the loud music til after 9 for the club vibe? ‍ We came for dinner Sunday, 7/27/25. There was a good mix of R&B & hip hop, with more R&B, I'd say. My husband, "can't do boopity-boo," and was able to hang in there until bingo. I'l come back to that. I ordered the Baldwin Hills, which was fruity, but strong. The bartenders need to get on the same page tho, because the 1st one was definitely better than the 2nd one. I'm from LA & Baldwin Hills is above the area where I grew up, so I had to represent with that drink. Normally, I'm a whiskey/bourbon lady, but vodka is my white liquor preference so I was good. The food is good. We started with the jerk chicken eggrolls. It was definitely fried hard, or maybe refried from earlier? Idk. It was not as light as the picture. Due to the lighting & how hard they were fried, I had to do some editing to make them visible. The server said they weren't too spicy. They come in 4 pieces. The 1st piece I had was definitely mild. My husband said they had a kick when he bit into his, but I didn't get that...that is until I had the 2nd one! Whew! All the spice was in that piece! I'd say slightly spicier than a little kick. They were tasty tho. We both waited a while for our entrees. The table next to us, also only with a couple had their food come out before ours, though they came in as we were finishing our appetizer I think. We'd already placed our entree order by the time they came. The server apologized for the delay on our food and said it would be out in a few minutes. It was more like 10-15 minutes before they brought out his entree. The person who brought it out, maybe the manager?, said she didn't want his food to get cold waiting on mine to come out. It took another 10-15 minutes, if not longer, for my food to come out, with no explanation. My husband ordered the fried catfish entreè with spinach & rice pilaf. He enjoyed his food. His only issue was not having 2 fillets. As you can see the piece you get is sizable, soooo, if you have a big appetite, maybe also get the catfish on the happy hour too to supplement the meal. ‍ I'm trying to get into salmon & the honey bourbon salmon was good. It wasn't overly sweet and it didn't taste fishy, like salmon sometimes can. The spinach is good also. I had to send the potatoes back because they were not hot. As long as I waited for my food, I wasn't expecting lukewarm food. The server quickly brought out some hot potatoes and they were good. They have bingo on Sunday night @ 8; or at least it was 8-something that's night. Initially, the dj said it was an R&B bingo, but when the bingo paper was passed out, it had hip hop on it too. I'm familiar with some hip hop, but don't know all the artists' names, lol. It was still fun, but I knew I probably wasn't going to win lol. We sang during the songs (had to ID the artist on the bingo card), and everyone seemed to be having a good time. I'm glad to have this option in Douglasville and glad it's still here after a few years when some other restaurants have closed. They are also open late, which is good, as most restaurants in the area close at 9 or 10. I'd ask the owner to consider a grown and sexy night or an over 35 night with good R&B music that's played at a level that can be enjoyed and allowed conversation to flow. A line dance night would also be good. I met the owner when the 1st location in Atlanta opened on Edgewood. It just so happened we had family in town visiting from LA. They gave him the business lol about the drink names and the place, but really enjoyed the vibe. I'm glad to see the business flourishing and in multiple states. I wish continued success and that there will be some acceptance of the feedback provided.

Lots better than some other barbecue I've eaten. Portions were generous, but not huge. I certainly didn't go away hungry. It was kind of spendy, but so is everywhere else, so... I ordered baked chicken with rice, sweet potato soufflé, mac and cheese, and potato salad. I also purchased my grandmother a plate with meatloaf, collard greens, and sweet potato soufflé. What really set the tone was having to stand there and watch the young lady fix both of my plates. She was extremely stingy with the portions. I mean tiny dabs of food. The amount of rice on both plates was honestly shameful -- you could clearly see the bottom of the container. I almost turned around and walked out, but since I had already driven an hour to get there, I decided to continue. Watching someone fix $15 plates like that, knowing the price, was very disappointing. The baked chicken was dry and hard. The mac and cheese was not creamy and not cheesy at all. The potato salad was just okay. The only thing that was actually good was the sweet potato soufflé -- and it was a 10/10. This was my fourth time giving this location a chance. I usually buy at least eight plates when I come, so you can imagine how much money I've spent trying to support them. At this point, the only reason I would ever return is for the potato soufflé -- and nothing else. They really need training from associates at the other locations because I want to root for them. The other locations know how to: * Properly portion food * Cook it the right way * Offer real options Here, the bar looked pitiful, and to charge that much for so little food just doesn't make sense. I'm used to going to This Is It and seeing real ribs, spicy ribs, pork chops, and variety. I understand business -- if things don't sell, you focus on heavy sellers -- but this bar looked like bare minimum effort. For the price, I can go to A1 Soul Food, get way more food, and it tastes good every single time. I think I'm done with This Is It -- at least this location. And I don't take any pictures because the plates went in the trash after we at the soufflé.

They had an assortment of desserts available including cookies, cupcakes, banana pudding and peach cobbler. I ordered two red velvet cupcakes and an orange cranberry cupcake. To my pleasant surprise, I realized that they sell soul food and desserts. The soul food was not displayed, but still available to purchase due to the timing that I came in. The staff was so friendly and hospitable! There is no seating, so come ready to place your to go order and head home. The Saturday menu offered a few entrees and soulful sides, including baked pork chops with gravy, baked chicken, and fried fish. For sides, they had rice, macaroni and cheese, yams, collards and cornbread (and a few others, see a Saturday menu in the photo). They were sold out of baked chicken, so I opted for two pork chop dinners with macaroni, collards and yams for my family. It also included rice and cornbread. I was able to put the gravy on the side. They used sturdy to-go boxes and cupcake containers and nothing leaked out on my way home. I appreciated this a lot, because sometimes restaurants give you a styrofoam box that does not close, causing the sauces and juice from the food to leak out in the bag. The food was AMAZING! It tasted like it was made with love from scratch. I loved the pork chops and gravy, rice and cornbread. A Timeless Treat made the best macaroni and cheese that I've tried at a restaurant in Douglasville or Atlanta area! The portion was enough to have some for dinner and then the next day for lunch. Prepare for a nap after that meal! The red velvet cupcakes were good as well! Overall, I recommend this restaurant. I will be back to try the other items, since the menu rotates based on the day.
