I thought the dishes were fine quality, tasty and not too spicy. Good prices and good portions, suitable for sharing. The crowd was a mix of small groups of businessmen and tourists, with a few families like us.

It took about ten minutes (the waiter warned me it would be 15) and I also opted for two chapati to go with it. Again, very hot coming from the kitchen and it had a whole lot of flavor and spice, but it wasn't "hot" spicy just really tasty. Lots of small pieces of lamb in a sauce that is beyond description. Let's just say that it was excellent and the chapati was perfect for scooping. No dessert, but the cold bottle of Kingfisher was perfect (first time in a bottle, it's usually draft). A great meal!

The menu had a really good choice and also so good set menu deals, we chose the menu for two which was £25.95 where you could chose any 2 starters, any 2 mains, any 2 rice dishes, 1 side dish and 1 Naan bread which I thought was very good value indeed. The drinks prices were also very reasonable. The food arrived promptly and very well prepared, the dishes were not in the normal chrome bowls but presented on some very nice white oblong dishes. Waiting staff were very friendly and helpful, and also offered us a free complimentary drink after the meal. so if you live or are visiting Scarborough I would recommend eating at the Indian Rose

We had the appetizer assortment consisting of lamb, chicken and onion bharji which was fantastic. Popadoms were fresh and served with a delicious pickle tray. I had the lamb balti which was one of the best i've ever had, fall apart tender morsels of lamb in a delicious brown curry sauce, spiced to perfection, incredible dish all round, i added chapati and rice and couldn't be happier with my decision. Service was outstanding, extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff making this my new go to Indian whenever i'm in the UK!

booked a table for 8 last week... upon arrival we were greeted by the owner of the restaurant…read more.. very friendly approach and did not have to wait around in the waiting are which was beautiful... once seated poppadoms were served and a very friendly waiter took our order with some of his own recommendations.. the restaurant was very busy so after travelling for 1 hour i was abit worried about having to wait for our food abit longer then usual.. but i was totally wrong the food was served within the timescale promised by the waiter and the starters wee freshly prepared and piping hot... the starters main and dessert were great.. the owner visited our table a couple of times to ensure everything was OK and we didn't require anything else... we then chilled out at the bar for a short while before leaving.... overall i would recommend Ashiana restaurant as they provide and excellent service with a smile and also delicious food... 10/10 was worth the drive down to newark
