There are two Indian restaurants in Louth, and in my opinion this one is the nicest! Ludensians will argue hotly for their favourite, though, so it's probably a matter of personal preference rather than any genuine superiority!
The Raj Mohal is always busy, even on a week night, and they have various deals on offer in the week which make curry a really good value meal - such as a 3-course meal for two for £18. These deals aren't on offer at the weekend, but it's even busier then.
It's a traditionally styled Indian restaurant, with velvet banquettes and candles on the tables and a dark, intimate atmosphere. Perfect for dates, in fact, as the tables are so nice and private!
There's a good range of traditional India starters, main courses and side dishes, and the food tastes freshly cooked when it arrives. Service is quick and friendly, and of course you get hot lemon-scented flannels and After Eight mints at the end of your meal - what kind of a curry would it be without those?! There's also a good range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks on offer despite a very small bar, and prices for those are reasonable too. read more
