I ordered Dumplings before the main course and then the main course came before the Dumplings, which was a bit surprising however as I was getting FULL on the main course the CASHIER came to me and said I could NOT cancel the Dumplings as it was already made even though I cancelled the course as the main arrived. The pan fried bun is the best I recall ever having, and that's saying a lot for someone who has had Chinese food in SF, LA, Taipei, HK (though not yet in Vancouver). It's fluffy, crispy, meaty, and soupy, and steaming hot. I was impressed. Also one order was plenty. This place is popular among locals (it was recommended to me twice independently). Take away was common on the Monday night I was here--and there were boxes of the pan fried buns being packed for the phone orders. Too bad the other reviewers rated this low--IMO one shouldn't seek out customer service at a Chinese restaurant (it's almost laughable). I didn't have any problems with the service here--just get their attention and ask for what you need. Generally, I don't expect a lot from Customer service--you go for the food (and you are paying for the food, not the fluffy service). read more

Quite authentic in terms of Shanghai style cruisine especially with the pan fried pork dumplings. Portion of most dishes are quite generous. The place has good chefs who know what they are doing. Most dishes are great. However, their rice tends to be overcooked and a bit dry during most of my visits. The shop has a terrible ticketing system. Sometimes you will find yourself not getting a ticket or not being told what number you are. As a customer myself, I regularly see avoidable confusions and frustration for both staff and the customers. The restaurant needs better management and system to uplift the service the customers and it's food deserve in order to go from an okay/good restaurant to a great one!
