I'll tell you what, Shane Co. has done some wonderful advertising with their commercials, because we both knew the exact address of this location from the radio commercials we hear all the time. A great marketing investment for them, I think all locals know exactly where Shane Co is from those commercials alone! We recently came to Shane Co because we remembered the address. When we walked in, we were greeted by a host at the front, and were told that it was about a 10-15 minute wait to be paired with one of the employees. We were able to shop around on our own while we waited, and then received a text when we were paired with one of their team members. We had a decent idea of what we were looking for, but wanted to get a better understand of sizing and types of bands. Two different team members assisted us and both were lovely. They definitely made sure we were aware of their lifetime warranty, and it was mentioned several times throughout our visit. Both associates were very helpful and helped us find both rings and bands that we liked. Neither were pushy at all, and we felt very comfortable with them. They added the rings and sizes we picked out to an online file, which was emailed to us the following day. We ultimately did not end up going with Shane Co for our rings, just because the rings weren't exactly what we were looking for, we were looking for something more custom, but we did have a lovely experience here and would recommend checking them out. read more

This is the second store we visited. I had a setting I wanted and was not willing to budge on getting it. Long ago I had purchased a single stone that I wanted to use in the setting. I knew the stone was large so it had to have a setting to support it. No one had exactly what I wanted but Shane and Co came close. I didn't want to settle but finally gave in and boy am I Happy. The employees are not very knowledgeable about jewelry. We brought in a wedding band to be resized and were turned away with "it's plated silver we can't do it." Freaked out, we called the jewelery shop we got it from and were told it's indeed solid gold. We then took it to Jared who said they could resize it on the spot and when we mentioned that the other store said it was plated, they laughed and said the brand the ring was doesn't sell plated rings, the "S" is the jeweler stamp, and they can tell it's solid gold. We had also come in once before and looked at bands but were not impressed with anything, and the store had a long wait time just to see. I'd go elsewhere. read more

Yes, yes, I know what you are thinking... the ring is supposed to be a surprise...but hey, if we are spending that kind of money I want it to be something I am absolutely in love with, just like my fiancé! They let me try on any and every style they had and the consultant was super helpful, helping me narrow down what I liked, picking up on "themes" or "styles" and helping to bring out selections that were going towards my taste. This was so amazingly helpful because I was not able to articulate what style or cut I wanted, but she was teaching me the terms as we went along. After trying on about 28 rings, we narrowed it down to 3. She brought out various stones for me to try, always being super respectful of the budget we had told her when we came in. She, nor anyone else we met was pushy, which was incredibly lovely. We ended up finding the perfect ring. I am so happy because although we bought this in Utah, there are stores in California and should anything ever happen to the ring, they will be there to fix it. Note for SC. Fake nice from a greeter and then using loud condescending tone loses business. After previous positive experiences, we popped into SC on Friday just to browse for Mother's Day. The greeter asked for a phone number to text us for an appointment to show us items. I only wanted to browse and did not want to share my number. Greeter was super condescending saying no one will show us items if we did not provide a phone number. This was after asking if I can get on the list another way. I get needing an appointment however, there should be another way to do that without a phone. More than that, she should have been less loud and rude when I refused. We ended up driving down the street to Limb Jewlers. Small shop with friendly people. This is not a review based on the Shane Co.'s products, but rather their customer service. I recently was helping my dad find a jewelry gift for my mom for a notable anniversary. I had had great experiences with the Shane Co. in the past, and so I suggested that we try there. Dad had a very specific price range that he wanted to stay within. Because of this, I SPECIFICALLY called in advance and asked if they had items within his price range and was reassured that they had many items that fell within that range. I even asked "you have many items between $XXX and $XXX in store and not just online" and was told YES. So, we went to the store in Midvale to search for a gift. A man (manager?) approached us upon entering and asked how he could help us. As soon as he heard the price range we were working with he became cold and dismissive. We were shuffled to a corner of the store and obviously put on the back burner. When an associate finally came to help us, she made several awkward comments about my dad's budget, such as "the only thing you'll find in that range", "there may be some at that price hidden in the back", etc. She even shrugged a couple of times when we asked questions, kind of like "what do you expect for that price?". Despite the reassurances I'd received earlier on the phone, there were only a handful of things within my dad's budget that we were shown. The Shane Co. made a WONDERFUL man feel like total crap on a day that should have been special for him because he didn't have a budget that they deemed acceptable. Shame on you! read more

Went to Shane Co. yesterday to get my engagement ring sized and the whole experience made me feel uneasy. My main issue with the experience was the person helping us said that the diamond on my ring wasn't real...and reiterated that they couldn't determine if it was a real diamond or not. We later called the jeweler where we bought the ring from to confirm it was indeed a real diamond. My fiancé even asked another associate (the next day) to give her opinion about the ring and she confirmed it's a real diamond...but didn't seem to care or bothered that we were told it was fake. Bottom line, maybe the experience is better when you are purchasing the jewelry directly from them, but I did not feel comfortable leaving my ring to be sized with a business that has an associate who can't tell if a diamond is real or not...and that the band is gold...not a random metal (I can't remember the word he used) that they don't have/carry. read more

This experience took place a year ago... This is our second visit to Shane Co. Our first attempt seemed to go well. As we were trying to make a custom wedding band, the CAD was supposed to be completed inside of a week and there was supposed to be a follow up call. Fast forward to three weeks later. I had to call and speak to two different people before we ended up getting the drawing and it was not at all what we wanted. Now, because if their terrible follow up, our deadline for my wife's wedding band will not be met. We went back in today. The representative we worked with, Megan, seemed to try to get all of the details down correctly and offered a lot of other options to match the engagement ring. I appreciate her effort and do hope the follow up happens in a timely matter so my wife can finally have her ideal wedding band. I am cautiously optimistic that Megan will pull through. 4 stars, for now,, thanks to her effort. ***Update*** Turns out, Megan is great! They were very apologetic about the confusion and were willing to waive the entire service charge as proof that they are "your friend in the jewelry business." Shane Co's repair work was done very well, so I didn't think that would be fair to them to waive all charges. We negotiated a fair payment given the situation. They have won me back as a customer. Honestly the worst customer experience! I am shocked how poorly I was treated at Shane Co while shopping for an engagement ring. We had determined setting and had asked to see a few different center stones. I asked the "diamond specialist" to see another round diamond which would of been the 3rd round with price point in between the other two, and the sales person said he couldn't because someone in the back mentioned he needed to start helping other people now since it was starting to get busy. He personally did not spend more than 15 minutes with us. And it's not like we didn't have to wait when we arrived, we waited 20 plus minutes to receive help! This review is strictly on the sales associates at the Midvale location; 2 young ladies and COURTNEY (from the LEHI location). We brought in my wedding ring to be cleaned and an annual Rodium plating. We were greeted by a young lady, the same young lady that messed up on the instructions to not mess up the engraving on my daughters ring while it was being sized down, which she did not put in the instructions so the engraving was ruined. She took us to the counter and proceeded to take my wedding ring and put it in the quick cleaning machine. She then told us that the lady, who was helping another couple, would be with us shortly to help us and then she left. The next lady came over about 5 minutes later, she took our names and "profile" information and then told us it would be 2-3 more minutes until my ring would be finished. I asked her "what about the Rodium plating...?". She said, "Oh, I wasn't advised that you wanted that". I told her that was the main reason I was there. She then told us that she would go and get my ring to start the paperwork for the Rodium plating. While we waited for her to return, COURTNEY (from the LEHI location), approached us and asked if we were being helped. I told her "I believe so..." because the first 2 ladies were no longer helping us. She then went in the room where my ring was being cleaned and joined the first 2 ladies. She said something to them, and then all 3 of them turned and stared at us off and on for a few minutes. When she returned, she was extremely snooty and treated us as if we were not good enough to be in Shane Co. We purchased my wedding ring from Shane Co. over 30 years ago and have upgraded it 3 additional times. We have also purchased many other pieces of jewelry from Shane Co. Shane Co.- Your associates need a BIG Attitude adjustment and need to realize that we are the CUSTOMER and how they treat us will determine if we ever spend thousands of dollars there again!
