Carrot bread with a cream cheese drizzle sounded and looked great. Picked up a loaf at the North Winter Market. The bread was under 2" tall, burnt on the bottom, and seriously lacking in flavor. Such a disappointment. I visited her bakery in Millard, while open, with similar results. A true baker would not sell burnt products. read more

I love Shandy's! She makes an array of different breads, cookies and other treats. Most recently I stopped by for sugar cookies and zucchini bread. The bread was so good. She used just the right spices, it was just like the bread my mother made 30 years ago. The sugar cookies were Kansas City/Football themed and they made my 8 year old's day. Shandy also has cookies such as chocolate chip and oatmeal scotchies that my husband just loves. The service is very friendly. The atmosphere is that of a small working bakery that has shelves stocked with the days offerings. I will definitely be back. read more

If you're looking for a unique celebration cake I highly recommend the Princess cake. It's a little pricey, but for good reason. The taste is pure decadence. It's absolutely beautiful. The lemon poppyseed bundt cake was downright addicting and the Out Of This World cookie was a fun twist on your classic chocolate chip. They have one of the best ginger cookies I've ever had. As someone who has sampled nearly 800 cookies in the last 17 months, it takes a lot to wow me! I will definitely be back and I highly recommend you try it out! read more

Shandy's Swedish Bakery was mentioned on the Grow Omaha radio show this morning, mentioning it had recently opened, so I had to go and try it out. It may be a little hard to find if you don't know the area, but if you travel south from 138th and Q there is a small strip mall south of La Petite Academy where it can be found. As I said it was mentioned on the radio so many people had already been there before me that took care of her inventory already. Shandy was the only one there feverishly trying to restock the goods in her small store. She pointed out the loaf of Swedish Rye Bread and her Scandinavian Almond Cake which I got and her full breaded Kolaches (she also had Bohemian in the family). She gave many suggestions for the Rye bread with including grilled cheese which I will try first. I hope to go back to try her Kolaches. read more

I discovered this little hidden gem yesterday when I was looking for fresh baked cookies. It's take out only as it's quite small. But the flavor of the oatmeal Scotchies was HUGE! Top notch baked goods. This place is a gem. Shandy was a really nice woman as well. The chocolate chip Pumpkin pie bread was my favorite. Apple Snickerdoodle bread was tasty as well. Cinnamon rolls were top notch as expected, after seeing other reviews about them. The frosting is what makes them so good. It was all good and worth the money for some homemade baked goods. This lady is not friendly! Purchased 2x at farmers market and once at store, the Swedish almond cake is tasty but cookies are average. For me personality goes a long way! Dealing with the public sometimes sucks but as a business owner sometimes you just have to suck it up. Like to support our Millard businesses but done trying with this one! read more

Amazing customer service and great looking products.. We got some cinnamon rolls because I read amazing reviews slightly disappointed as I LOVE cinnamon rolls and frosting.. They seemed to not have enough space in the tin tray that they were in to let the cinnamon and frosting soak into the whole thing when it was heated up.. We went in to pick up cinnamon rolls to go with chili only to find they had run out. The guy behind the counter had pulled a pan earlier to take home to his family. Without hesitation, he offered to give that pan to us. Even though we told him multiple times it was no problem we would figure it out, he insisted we take it. It is kind of hard to get to and locate, but it is worth a visit if you are in Millard and need something baked fresh. We enjoyed the cookies and bread. My mouth had been watering and craving to try Shandy's Bakery in the Millard area of Omaha, for awhile. I finally did and got the Pumpkin Twinkies. Truthfully I was disappointed. 1st because they were soooo small - about half the size of an actual twinkie (no joke). 2nd the frosting was NOT cream cheese and barely had any flavor (she SAID it was, but if that's the case the amount of cream cheese in the actual filling was minuscule and you couldn't taste it) The Pumpkin bread part of it was nice, but not the best I've had. It was rather dry and tasted a couple days old. Not worth $3 each for a half size twinkie about 3 inches long. The owner couldn't even be bothered to wait on me, even tho she was about 6ft in front of me. She had her son do so. That was after I even mentioned it was my first time there and I had driven quite a distance to get there. I did NOT feel welcomed. Bear in mind no other customers were in the store and it was an hour after opening. I won't be recommending nor will I be back. It definitely was not worth the drive. read more

Got there right before it closed to get cinnamon rolls, unfortunately they were all sold out from the morning. Thought, well I might as well get something. Got a small bag of m&m sugar cookies (only $4) and they were probably the best cookies I've ever had. So happy to find this small delicious bakery.
