This. Is. The. Biggest. Boots. I. Have. Ever. Seen. In. My. Life…read more And seeing as I grew up in Nottingham, which is the birthplace of Boots and is home to some rather large Boots stores, that's really saying something. In the Boots at the Fort shopping centre you will find anything and everything health, beauty or pharmacy related that you could hope for. Looking for that nice hand cream someone bought you as a preset? They'll have it. After a new type of mascara you saw advertised on the telly? They'll have it. All this with a baby section, a mens section, a perfume section and a food section. They also have a huge photo section featuring instant printing machines as well as photo albums, cameras and related paraphernalia. Erm, so what more could you possibly want from a Boots? Friendly staff perhaps? Well, you're in luck! A couple of times I've found myself a little lost in this store, and have had to find a member of staff to point me in the right direction, or even give me a hand with the photo machines. Every time this has happened, I've come across really helpful members of staff who actually care about the well being of their customers. Result!

I am a long term fan of Boots and refuse to chose just one reason why: They are named after an…read moreitem of footwear, the clean white slightly medical feel, the amazing advantage card, the memory of it being the only decent shop on the high street of the town I grew up near and the product range. Where else can I go to buy a present for my infant nephew, a lipstick, a photo frame, tights and a sandwich? I say all these things about any Boots, then they opened the Glasgow Fort Boots and I loved them. The first thing to mention is that it is huge, muckle, amazingly massive. I have been know to spend well over a happy hour wandering and finding product lines and brands I would normally only expect to find in a big posh department store. But it isn't a stuffy formal department store, it's Boots! No airs and graces are required, you could be going int to by tena lady and haemorrhoid cream - I promise they weren't for me, they were for my sister to terrify her at her baby shower, honest. This Boots has the best product range for cosmetics and toiletries in Glasgow. I'm talking LIz Earle, Bumble and Bumble, Smashbox, Clinque, Chanel, Dior, YSL, Lancome, Benefit, Bare Minerals, Origins, Stilla, Butter, Essie, Dr Jart, Lanolips, I could go on. My only gripe is that they don't have Urban Decay, they used to but don't anymore and I object to buying expensive cosmetics anywhere else - no advantage points! The staff are great, friendly, chatty and happy to help and if you are a beauty junkie and haven't been yet then hang your head and get to the Fort!

Ah I do like this Poundland! Honestly, you can't beat a good Pound shop!…read more This is a decent sized Poundland (maybe not as big as the large one at the corner of Argyle Street & Jamaica Street in town, I always feel like that offers more) which offers a range of toiletries, kids toys, food, drinks, stationery, household items and random DIY stuff. That's what I love about Poundland: there's always something random on sale. Wandering around, there was nothing that really took my fancy. The toiletries/beauty items are something I never buy from there - I just don't think they look like anything worth buying. They have a good selection of biscuits, sweets, crisps etc (I wish I liked Jammie Dodgers because 3 packs for £1.00 is pretty impressive!) but with the other food items on offer, it's a bit of a weird offering and perhaps not products I would be looking to buy or even glance twice at. But if I'm looking for a bottle of ketchup, a tea dunking biscuit or need to stock up on chocolate, it offers enough to keep me happy. The stationery section offers a good range of pens, cellotape, notepads, packing tapes and packing boxes. I'm really fussy with what pens I choose to write with but for £1.00, their pens aren't half bad. I buy their envelopes and packing tape a lot too Really good quality but their packaging boxes aren't that great - they used to be much better but I think they changed their supplier or something. Offer the usual random stuff you would expect to find: books, ipad covers, dvds...nothing of amazing quality but what you expect from Poundland!

I love a poundland browse ... you always pick up stuff you never seemed to know you needed!…read more This is one of the better stores with a really good selection of products. There is a really good book section in this store and I have picked up quite a few good reads over the years. When in today i noticed all of the garden stock was in and i will definetly be popping back to pick up a few bits for my mum who loves all the wee nick naks in here.

Brand new shiny M&S at Glasgow Fort. Has everything you would expect from a medium sized M&S…read moreincluding a rather decent cafe, food court, kids department, interesting homeware, men and women's clothing and a collection point for online shopping. Staff seemed to be a little bemused when I was in but I'm sure that's just teething problems and they'll be seasoned pros in no time.

Marks and Spencer was a much needed addition to the Fort after a few years of very little change…read more It's brought a bit of buzz back to the place (along with the new leisure complex of course) and it ticks a lot of boxes. This M&S has ladies and menswear, children's clothing, home, food hall and a cafe - the works. I'm not one to shop for myself in M&S but the kids clothing is just too cute. They don't have an extensive range for boys my son's age, but what they do have is absolutely adorable and their collection grows for boys so I can foresee many trips in the future for him. The home section is a little small too, but there are plenty of cute a kitschy things for you to adorn your home with, including loads of scented goodies (I'm a candle hoarder and this section is my dream!) The food hall is super handy too as it means you can pick up grocery items whilst out shopping without having to plan a quick stop off at Morrisons - and who doesn't love a little Dine In deal? The cafe is lovely too and has loads of space if you really just fancy a toastie and a cup of coffee instead of the more substantial food on offer at the Fort. On my last visit I had an Italian ham toastie, which came with parmesan and mozzarella and tasted like a pizza. Heaven! I also had a slice of lemon drizzle loaf, which was super moist with a nice bit of icing and candied lemon peel. I was super into it. So so tasty. My flat white was a bit meh. Really bitter coffee and not smooth at all, but I am really fussy with coffee so I'll let them off. All in all it's a great store with loads to offer. I always find myself "popping in" for a wee nosey when I'm at the Fort now.
