debenhams is in the howgate centre. it is not a big store, but they have crammed quite a lot into…read moreit. they have several make up counters and perfume counters, kids dept, and a ladies dept. i shop here for kids clothes, they do not have a huge range of of clothes, but the ones they do have, they normally have plenty of them in all sizes. they have plenty of pleasant staff in here, however i did go to the make up counter one day to ask a question reguarding a product, and this one particular member of staff looked at me like i had big purple horns ( and they're small, barely noticable, lol). she was also very abrupt with me. i was offended and i will not be shopping there again (for make up anyway).

Although the shop is tiny, it does stock quite an extensive range of clothing for babies and is all the more special because it stocks items you won't find everywhere else. The clothes in here aren't cheap, but they are good quality so it's the ideal place to go and buy a present for that special new arrival - the window is always dressed with lovely ideas!

The shop is a bit on the small side and it would be hard to get a pram around the shop.

The black and white colour scheme and logo, the bright lights and the clothes all cramped together just don't make me want to browse through here. The whole shop just seems very boring as are most of the items in it, they don't even play any music! But Next must be doing something right as I've witnessed first hand the crazy bargain shoppers queuing outside at six in the morning on sale days to get their hands on some discounted goodies. Next is one of my favourite places to shop for baby clothes for friends and family. Until recently I had no idea how expensive baby clothes could be! Next have a huge range of super cute outfits and they are all quite reasonably priced, I even saw a little shirt and tie for a baby boy last week - very suave.

The ground floor as you enter is home to the woman's clothing section with a variety of casual and work clothes. The prices are varied some to me are a bit expensive for what they are and I think that is why the sale is so popular because the quality is good. There is a children's section to the rear which is well stocked and the clothes are seperated and displayed by age. The upper level of the store accessed by a small lift or stairs stocks mens clothing from shirts to belts to trousers etc. A nice next though to have a look around it is a bright store and the staff are helpful.

Most stuff seemed to be under £10 and while this store at the Avenue is kind of wee, it still has a family-sized range of stuff. I can't comment too much on it as I didn't buy anything, so I don't know if it's actually decent quality. I'd sum it up as a tidier Primark for families. I can't really see myself shopping here as they didn't really have anything in my kind of style, but maybe I'd pop in to get seasonal kids stuff for my nephews/niece and accessories.

I had met a girl that was just like my Mum. Regardless, there's some good stuff in here and it's quite tidy and spacious inside. Pricewise, it's somewhere between Primark and H & M. Always something in here on sale, but, as I learned, finding your size can take longer than making a cup of tea. A lot longer.

The shop assistants were nice enough, but weren't particularly chatty. I suppose they're probably employed for their ability to be aloof... They're very much to thank for the shop being so well laid out though, in the time I was there I swear one of them spent five minutes folding a single jumper. (Kind of makes you want to go and unfold it, doesn't it?!) Replay mainly sell men's clothes. It focuses on denim - with a great range of quality jeans. Do bear in mind though that they'll set you back about £120. Not bad for designer jeans, but still not quite a budget friendly option. They also sell quite a large range of polo-shirts and hoodies. Again, their clothes are quite studenty - but their prices aren't. The cutest area of the shop, though, is most definitely the children's section. This includes mini versions of almost everything you'll find in the store - denim jackets, coats, hoodies, jeans and polo-necks. Their children's range also includes stuff for girls. Surprisingly though, even a pair of jeans small enough for a 2 year old will cost you £70. Ouch. Maybe you'd be better with a trip to Baby Gap.

Who me and the boy happened to bump into on the way home rather intoxicated from The Wise Monkey the other night. It was not especially pleasant. Particularly, because I knew when I heard someone shout 'Laura!' I was too drunk to deal with it. But, when continued walking without a second thought, the boy stopped and turned round with a native 'Someone just shouted on you...'. I can now see the sweet side in it, however, at the time I believe I gave him a rather shocked and irritated look. Anyway, enough of that talk. This is one of the few designer shops I've been in through irregular shopping days with the mother. It is very pretty, well laid out and some of the clothes are actually quite nice. However, it's extremely pricey for what you get and the staff do seem rather above their station, which is off putting.
