Here is the post "My daughter and I went to Tom Jackson to get some implants, etc. done on her teeth. During our first visit, Tom examined my daughter's mouth and afterwards told us he thought the whole procedure would come in just under $20k. We thought great, seems reasonable and went ahead with the process. My daughter, who lives out of town, flew in for the second visit to start the process. The following day we receive the treatment plan from his assistant. The estimated cost was a little over $34k (70% above estimate). We were flabbergasted. We called Tom and asked him how he could have been off that much on his original quote and he said "I don't do billing". Needless to say we stopped the process and looked elsewhere. We found a very professional outfit, very highly rated and who my daughter was very comfortable with and whose treatment plan estimated the total cost at under $19k for the same procedures (less than Tom's original quote). What a terrible experience. My daughter has gone through the first part of the procedure and everything looks great. One other note - after we called and complained, Tom said he would refund our fees for the second visit (not the first) but we had to sign a nondisclosure agreement (gag order) not to discuss this on social media. I was lucky to find Dr. Sokolik!!! He was able to take x-rays and make sure I had an infection in the tooth's root before we did the root canal. Then he recommended surgery and he was a very skilled and fast endodontist!!! I needed to have this surgery before I had a joint replacement and I am so happy I found doctor Sokolik!!! I am a big dentist chicken and he numbed me and I didn't feel anything. I have never been to this practice before. So, I totally understood that they had to take my payment for my surgery before they submitted it to insurance. The office staff and everyone promised to help follow up with me to make sure I get all my money back from my two insurances!

But after a while, I noticed the staff and Dr. Becker became increasingly passive aggressive and rude. When I was getting work done on my teeth, I didn't feel he was patient or empathetic with me. I didn't enjoy going here after a year or so. That's why I don't go back. We were also informed that our dental plan was accepted, only later being informed it was not accepted, leaving us with a huge bill. That was a major error in communication.

Every time I had a visit I was told I needed more work. He said I absolutely needed to replace my crowns. So I did. That was thousands. He tried very hard to convince me to do cosmetic work. He actually bullied me. I finally told him in no uncertain terms it was not going to happen. He did get away with "showing me" what it would be like and charging me for the pictures and X-rays to provide that scenario. I felt that was the last straw so I paid and decided to look for another dentist. Unfortunately it took Thousands of dollars for me to figure it out. I made a appt with my friends dentist.. I did not tell him anything about Dr.William Becker DDS. . He did a full work up and found there was no work to be done. I then told him my story. He showed me the xrays so I could see my for myself. Nothing, nothing. How could that be? His wife did regular Business with me. She seemed like a honest person. I was always honest and fair with my dealings with her. I never expected something like this. As we know, u can't see what they see. Even when they show u the X-ray you do not see it the same way. The new dentist called for my records.. they refused. I was first introduced to this office in 2015 on a free exam promotion. No complaints but I want…read moreready to switch from my existing dentist. Recently, I had a ten year old crown break. The dentist at the time who will remain nameless at this time made a new crown but gave me a referral for crown lengthening surgery which she felt I needed because she didn't have enough of my molar to work with. She also was thought I might need a root canal as well. I declined both procedures, had her put on the new crown which broke right away as my bite wasn't right. I went to visit Dr. Neu for a second opinion. He looked at my x-rays from the other dentist and examined the tooth and told me the crown lengthening surgery was unnecessary. He used a tool to blow air on the exposed tooth and since the pain did not linger and based on his xrays the nerve was not dead and he did not recommend a root canal either. He gave me the option to return to my dentist with this information or he could just create the new crown in office. I opted to just have the new crown completed. Everything about the procedure was completely opposite of the one my previous dentist did. He gave me two injections of novacaine in one spot versus her multiple pricks all over around the tooth. Where the old dentist's manner of giving the novacaine caused pain, I felt zero with Dr. Neu. I felt zero pain for the entire procedure which was much more involved as he had to use a solution to get my gums to back away from the base of the tooth and he prepared not only the top but the sides of my molar as well. My previous dentist was not able to keep my pain-fees during the drilling process. Dr. Neu had a great attention to detail when he created and fitted my crown which has now resulted in no pain when I bite down on it. (The previous crown that my dentist put on and I broke still caused pain when I chewed on it before I broke it). Your existing dentist might be ok for routine care but i have a high degree of confidence in Dr. Neu for anything that is more intensive and will be switching to him moving forward.
