I don't know who the lady is who makes the phone calls is but she has a major attitude and is a total b*tch. Basically called my place of work to b*tch us out that we sell our vehicle AS IS. Which is stated on all of our vehicles and we have the customer sign something stating they understand that. But we also give our customers the option to go and get the vehicle fully inspected before they buy it. If they chose not to that is on them but we do offer that and we also offer warranty's they can't purchase on the vehicle at very reasonable prices. Basically saying that she is going to call the lemon law on us which good luck sweet heart lemon law doesn't apply to used car dealers so good luck with that. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED with the lack of professionalism at this place. "Scott" the owner is basically out of touch with technology and should retire. This guy took 14 months to perform a cam swap on a Pontiac G8 which is an LS3 (6.0). His incompetence on this type of engine was very apparent early in the repair. He told us that ours had a bad cam bearing in it once we drove it to him. We brought the car to him to do a BTR Stage 2 cam upgrade along with the High Volume oil pump, timing chain, pushrods/lifters , waterpump, , gaskets , etc to complete the job. He literally only had to install everything. After the work commenced (2months after driving it there), he disassembled the front end of the car enough to where I couldn't easily take it elsewhere and let it sit for 4 months with an unending deadline. Then he told me it be better to get another engine because there may be metal debris from the cam bearing throughout the engine. No problem, I provided a replacement engine w/ 70K on it 2days later which probably surprised him. At this point he literally could've done the cam swap on the new engine and just pulled the old engine and return it to me. Somehow he mixed up engines and neither of the two engines he says are mine are matching their ECMs. GM LS engine ECMs have the VIN of the vehicle programmed in them as well as the last 6 of that VIN on the oi filter side of the engine blocks on a designated "flat" ground area . "Scott" didn't realize this so now he's about to catch a case! 15 months for a CAM swap is what he wants all of you LS engine owners to know! Beware of this place if your car was made within the last 2 decades. Very disheartening experience and when you work VERY hard for your money you don't want to be "SHAMmed" by a shop that can't be TRUTHFUL, honest, and FORTHCOMING. All he had to say was "I've never worked on an LS based engine before" and we would've taken the car elsewhere. read more

Words cannot express how genuine the staff and company in general are. I took my vehicle in to be serviced as I heard a rattling when driving. I also noticed something hanging from underneath the vehicle. They didn't want to take my money, so they had someone come out to inspect my vehicle first because what they thought it could be was simple. Dan checked it and it was 1/2 of the issue. Michelle told me to drive it and come back if I still heard the noise. Still heard a noise but not as bad. Dan came back out & noticed another issue. Left the vehicle went to grab coffee and by time I was picking up the coffee Michelle was calling to say my vehicle was ready. Vehicle is back silent. I brought my car to them on December 28th they said no problem it will be done by the 31st. I was okay with this. They said they did a full diagnostics test to see what was completely wrong with my car. My car wasn't done by the 31st and I had to miss spending New Years and my birthday with my family. They said they fixed my water pump and my cooling fan relay ($1300 fix) just to turn around and call me the following Tuesday (the fourth) to tell me I blew my head gasket (whopping grand total of $2500) and I warped my cylinder and couldn't give me a time frame. I was under the impression that when you do a diagnostic for a car that is overheating you should do a head gasket repair FIRST. Had i known My head gasket was blown I would never of fixed the car and i would have kTwo weeks go by and I call almost every day. Finally they tell me they were waiting on a bolt and it would be done tomorrow (the 18th). I call the 18th. They say it's not ready. I call the 19th they tell me to stop calling and they will call me when it's ready. I have spent $685 in Uber and Lyft just getting to and from work. I am a single mother, college student and full time employee. I cannot afford to be without my car any longer. I'm extremely unsatisfied with this service. read more

If you are considering hiring Shamrock Auto read this before you make your decision: 1. Don't make an appointment with them, especially for a big job like this one was (quoted 5 and a half hours, a 2 day job) because even though they will accept it 5 days in advance, they will not honor it and treat you as a walk-in customer which is what happened here and I did not know it until I was cyber attacked by Patrick on his Facebook business page the next day. 2. Whatever you do, do not call Shamrock Auto to ask about the car, or updates or anything because clearly, they hate that. For example, calling only twice in a 10 and a half hour period just to find out the status of the estimate will get you, first, a lie (Writing the estimate now, will call in 15 minutes), Hour and a half later and no word and call again to find out they're looking at it now and yelled at by the receptionist because I told her what the last person told me. 3. I called about a half hour after the estimate to see if they started because while I was waiting for my quote I was calling other places thinking I might have to start over again and take it elsewhere and I found someplace else. I asked Patrick if he started and told him why and he said yes, and on here he admits that he started the repair on Saturday morning. 4. I was originally quoted a 2 day job, be done Saturday afternoon, but with the lengthy wait on the quote, I was requoted Monday afternoon, never Tuesday. I have a job, so I had made the necessary accommodations and would have never agreed to Tuesday as he stated here for dramatic effect. 5. Saturday I did not call for an update not even once. Not once. I already knew he started late. I called first thing in the morning only to tell him that I wanted my parts because I had expressed concern that that was the third time in 5 years I needed brakes. 6. I asked about the breakdown of the job, he told me it over the phone but when I got the bill, it did not match nor add right from what he had told me. I wanted the breakdown explained at the counter, didn't get it. called the next morning to ask Patrick and same thing, that's what you agreed to he said. I did not call twice, there was no need to. 7. Be prepared, they sure don't communicate, not with the customer and evidently not with each other and he may post something like this after taking your money, and boast because it was a hard job if your car is 'stupid' like mine (heater core is in the glove box area, requiring full dashboard removal. But the heater core in my 'stupid' car is in the seat area?). He had the chance to release my car when I asked for it but he didn't. I would have been happy to take my business anywhere else. 8. My recommendation is don't hire Shamrock Auto unless you want terrible customer service and the next day find yourself harrassed by Patrick and complete strangers on Facebook who know absolutely nothing about YOUR experience and who will also vouch for a business that they admit they have NEVER used. He did me no favor by accepting this job, I already knew taking it in that I needed a new heater core, but I also wanted them to check out what was causing the noises. I still have the clunking noise. Since FB is his preferred choice of communication I mentioned it because I sure wouldn't make a phone call. He didn't respond. He told me he guarantees his work. Most businesses welcome calls about updates of their cars or actually make them themselves. Once I got the estimate and agreed to hire them, I was afraid to call for an update because they had already gotten so rude. And if Patrick told me my car will be ready early afternoon on Monday, then yea, by 4:00 and still getting a run around, I wanted my car, done or not. I had to go to work. He told me at 8 am that he was aligning it then. Writing this review was the last thing I felt like doing but potential customers should know what they're getting into by hiring them. I happened to catch in one of his older posts that he boasts about not up charging for parts (page 6)...not only does he upcharge, he upcharges a lot... at least $50 on my heater core alone (pages 3 and 4). read more

These guys were very friendly and open to new customers. I had to deal with an out headlamp, but usually take care of minor car fixes similar to this by myself. Bought the bulb itself at Autozone for about 20$, but couldn't get my hand inside the chamber where the headlight was. My vehicle is a new-ish vehicle and the clips needed to be taken off and opened up to change the bulb. Simple enough with the right tools, which a mechanic would already have. SO, these guys took great care of me, I ended up waiting at the office because I didn't know if I'd have a ride back up to the location to pick up my vehicle if it were to take a long time. It ended up only taking about 20-30 minutes. My rating represents the price they charged me, which I felt should have been way lower since I already had my own bulb. I wasn't unhappy with the service overall, but next time I have something minor I need taken care of, I'll look elsewhere. read more

I took my 2008 Ford Explorer in for a rear suspension noise. I was called and told my harmonic balancer needed to be replaced. I okayed this repair. $708.00 later I picked up the vehicle. The owner showed the old balancer and it needed to be replaced, no doubt. But, the rear suspension still had noise. After I parked the vehicle in my garage I noticed an oil leak. I did some research on the net and found these vehicles have a cradle bolted to the bottom of the block. I printed the jpeg, went up to Shamrock to ask what the torque specifications were on the two bolts that align with the harmonic balancer on this cradle. The owner was not available so I left my phone number on the pjeg. Over 8 weeks later, no phone call, and the cradle is leaking oiling by the harmonic balancer. I repaired the rear suspension noise myself, just recently. I have taken several of my vehicles to Shamrock in the past and have not had issues or problems. But, I believe when the new harmonic was driven on the crank shaft and it jarred the cradle and now I have this leak. Rather than removing the grill, radiator and all other parts to expose the crank shaft, it was driven on from underneath the vehicle. I've recommended Shamrock to several of my friends and coworkers when they needed repairs, but not any longer. If the owner was thinking I was trying to scan him for a free repair he is sadly mistaken. read more

By far the best shop to take your car to. They are incredibly honest, fair, and professional. Pat and Scotty are the best. I had my car there over the last week or so after I slammed into a curb and damaged my front suspension. They gave me a great price to fix it (I called 2 different shops for price quotes) when one wheel didn't hold air I took the car back, it turns out the rim was cracked. Instead of charging me for a new rim, they welded it at no charge and sent me on my way. I will always bring any car I own to Shamrock and I'll recommend them to everyone I know. Long story short I took it somewhere else & gave me a estimate in about 45 min & had it fixed in 4hrs. Instead of going to the stealership and getting ripped off for dealership pricing, try an independent (and local small business) and see what they can do. I had a Land Rover for many years and they saved me countless dollars by doing a lot of the expensive maintenance work. I never had to take anything back to them as it was fixed right the first time! This place is horrible. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. I took my vehicle there to get the waterpump fixed and they kept my vehicle for 3 years. I called and came to the location at least twice a week. They did not answer or return my calls. When i came into the location I was told Patrick was out of town and no one can help me and for me to come back next week. I got the runarounds for 3 years and each time I came in they would always say Patrick is out of town. When i brought the police no one answered the door. However a week later they said i can come and get my car. When i arrived my vehicle was stripped! No engine inside , front and rear bumpers on the ground. Patrick offers me $500 for my car.....But when I brought my vehicle in to be serviced initially he stated it would cost me $1200 to repair the waterpump, then two months later he states it would be $2500. so I live block away from them so I'd thought, why not, even though I know how to fix cars... well, I pushed it up there with my other, work car, and got the diagnosis. apparently, my water pump, fuel pump, and surp belt went. I'm thinking, why would the fuel pump die out of nowhere...my wife paid 55 diagnostic fee and we took it to our mechanic (further away but way worth it to take it to K and S auto on van born and wayne rd... my wife, specifically, told them to check the fuses cause I was messing with them. well, taking it up to K and S auto, he said it was the air compressor that locked up and no fuse for the fuel pump (they took a .50cent fuse out to try charging me $445.00 for my 01 ford taurus) to replace the fuel pump. the total was 710.00 for everything and I said no way. 265 at K and S that's all. Totally misdiagnosed my car and wanted to charge me to fix everything that wasn't wrong. It was the exact opposite of being taken care of and if looking for honest decent priced mechanic this is not the place. read more
