I have been going to Ryan's since shortly after they opened this location. I have never been oversold on services, and several times have had a quick, inexpensive repair for something that a dealer or other auto shop would have tried to sell a large repair.

Fortunately, they let you have it your way, in a sense! I had a small fender bender in January, and all I wanted was my bumper reattached. Instead of paying the higher fees to have new paint/new bumper/new fender, they simply reattached the existing bumper, treated the dent a bit to get the blinker back in place, and had it all done in a couple hours! What's astonishing is allowing me to keep the quote for a week and a half before having the work done, and he kept his word on the pricing even though I realized he could've charged me more! The honesty and integrity that was represented, as well as the quality of work, is why I will recommend this place to any of my local friends and family!!

Don't waste your time…read more I came to the shop with 3 problems: -A sound from the right side of my car. I gave them instructions on how to reproduce it, just drive the car on the highway -My car needed a regular service -I wanted to reset a warning light on the dash. They wasted my time and I left with more problems. They told me they would get to it that day on site. Then called me and told me they would not be able to get to it till the next. They don't even inspect it till the afternoon of the next day, and want to keep the car for another day. The next day they told me they were not able to reproduce the sound. I go in and immediately reproduce the sound with a tech in the car on the highway. They say they will look at it. I leave. I come back and they tell me they "aren't a shop specialized in fixing that problem" go to a different shop. Fine, I appreciate the honesty. They give me my car back. I turn on the car. Sound still there, Car regular service timer not reset - Such a simple thing, if they're cutting corners here what else are they cutting corners on? Warning light not reset. I go back in , ask them to reset both warnings. They come back, warning light needs a physical part and they need another part that they want to charge me for ~20 dollars, and for me to wait another few hours. They did reset the service timer. At this point they've wasted enough of my time. I leave, paying few hundred dollars for the service and them having wasted 3 days of my time. I go to a different shop. The fix is so simple they fix it for free in 20 minutes. Also they spam you with advertising texts despite never asking. In summary: They didn't fix any of my original problems, needed me to micromanage them to follow basic instructions to diagnose, are slow and incompetent.

I had to take my car back to them and they accused me of bringing my car in with a bad fuel gauge to begin with. After going back and forth with the rude guy at the counter and insisting that there was NO WAY I would ever drive around town without knowing how much gas is in my car, they finally looked at my car again and realized the part they put in my car was defective and they had to replace it again. That proved I didn't bring my car in with a bad fuel gauge. No apology or anything to me. Unfortunately, after the final repair and them explaining that the new part was an aftermarket part, my car now sounds like crap with constant hissing sounds and gas smells even months after the "repair." They are rude, have terrible customer service, and are overpriced. I will NEVER take another vehicle to this place ever again!! The results seemed vague and it appeared that being low on coolant was a possibility after checking under the hood, which it was. So I bought some for my car and filled it to the right level. I gave it about day to run through and see if that fixed the issue, but it didn't... the malfunction light was still there:( So I went in to Illi's after a week or so of the issue not resolving itself. I heard about this shop originally through a fellow student who had engine issues in the past. I told them what my results of the diagnostic test were and they ran their own diagnostics anyway to see what the codes came out to be. They called me later that day and told me that everything seemed to be okay. The manager said the codes cleared after taking it for a test run that afternoon. So they offered me 2 choices; 1) pick it up that evening, or 2) leave it there in the morning and have them check it again/do a cold road test in case the codes come back again. So I decided to leave it overnight just in case the issue was more severe than I thought, and man I'm glad I did! The next morning after their cold run, the manager called me and said that the codes unfortunately came back. They told me that the Thermostat sensor was out of whack and needed to be replaced. Not the news I wanted to hear, but I'm glad they were able to find the real problem. Also, they luckily had the parts available to fix it. It took an extra afternoon to fix it because the design of my engine made it really awkward for them to get to the right spots. But after about 2 days, they got the job done. They also added a new clamp for the hose, but they didn't charge me extra for it, which was nice. Overall, it came out to about $550. More than I would have liked, but they kind of made up for it with great customer service and transparency about the situation. Overall, I would recommend their service over the dealership any day.
