Also on the menu was Chicken Katsu, Beef Bulgogi and the special of today was Thai Pumpkin Curry (which was a vegetarian option!) Everything looked great and I will definitely be back for that chicken Katsu! Owner was super friendly and service was quick! Currently October 1st, 2022, we found them at the Riverfront downtown Spokane. Highly recommend!

We are huge foodies, so when we saw this Hawaiian/Asian fusion food truck in Spokane of all places, we were very intrigued. We tried the Katsu Chicken, Spicy Pork Belly, Mochiko Chicken and a side of the egg rolls. I don't know if there are words in a thesaurus that can explain how satisfied of the food we all were. The ingredients are fresh, they cook the food after you order so your food comes out hot and ready, the Spicy Pork Belly was a bit on the spicy side for the kids, but man was it mouth watering. The texture and crisp of the katsu chicken was crunchy and melts in your mouth. As foodies, I don't normally give Yelp reviews because I like to keep my secret food places to myself. But I spoke with the owner and they are such kind people and listen to your recommendations. The owner and his son's love for food is apparent in their cooking, and they seem to value their customers thoughts and opinions on their food. I wish I would've taken more pictures before we dug in, but we couldn't help ourselves from digging in!

The truck is brightly painted with a clear, easy-to-read-no-nonsense menu. We got right up to the window, ready to roll. Service is super friendly and efficient. I ordered the fish & chips with an extra piece of fish, plus an order of their coleslaw. The food came quick and it was screamin' hot and tasty. That cod is EXCELLENT; so flavorful with a light, crispy coating. You can have your choice of "sauces" for your fish; anything from traditional tartar, Thai sweet chili, Ranch, plenty to choose from. The fries were equally exceptional - super crispy, hot, with the perfect amount of salt. The coleslaw comes with a cool, Asian-fusion-style sesame-ginger dressing that really knocks it out of the park. This whole meal was just right for the two of us and at a VERY reasonable price - which is almost unheard of with a food truck. There's no way we could've gotten this same level of good food at that price at a sit-down restaurant. I'm looking forward to following them online to be sure I'm ready for when they come back this way.

First of…read moreall, they don't have any napkins, which really sucks for a greasy meal you are eating in your car or outside. My three pieces of cod were all pretty dry, fishy, and tough. My husband had some better pieces than I did, but he didn't love his meal, either. The fish was under-salted with heavy batter. Some lemon and salt would have helped but there was none available. The fries are fried in the same oil as the fish and it was all very heavy; I couldn't even get through a third of the fries. The root beer was fine. Two regular orders of fish and chips with two sodas was $50. It wasn't worth it.

None of the food is cooked in the authentic way but has a nice twist with the Chef's version of the dish. The Lechon is NOT traditional Filipino Lechon. It's really just pork belly that is seasoned and deep fried. I don't recommend. The Kalbi ribs are good. Some of the ribs I got were a little over cooked. The Mac Salad and cucumber salad accompany each meal and is good. Service is good and friendly. Happily surprise to see the diversity food option in Spokane, WA.

These guys are slaying it! And bringing the flavors of Guam, Philippines and Hawaii!!! I've been following Island Style Food Truck on Instagram for months, waiting (ever so patiently) until I had the opportunity to try out their grub! And my patience was well received! I occasionally travel to Spokane for work, but most days I'm there the food truck wasn't open. :*( Earlier this month the clouds parted, a ray of light shined upon Spokane, and I was able to check them out by a brewery (bonus points)! These guys came through the brewery and gave everyone bites of their lumpia - totally on point! Crispy and flavorful! I eventually placed my order (I wanted EVERYTHING), but I settled on their Hawaiian smoked pork with red rice and Mac salad, pork Sinigang (a sour, Filipino soup), Kådun Månuk (chicken and corn chowder in coconut milk) and spam over red rice and served with finadene (a must for Guam food). Yes, it's a lot, but I had a plan to eat this for meals over the next few days. All were really good or as we say on Guam (gof mångge'), like so good that the flavors brought me back home (Guam). There is literally nothing bad I can say about them. This is what Guam comfort food is!!! Let me tell you, the owner is super cool and personable. He came in for a few and we chatted. Honestly I felt home sick. Island Food Truck exudes the island hospitality! I am looking forward to my next visit, fingers crossed that they'll be open when I come through!
