Shawarma plate
Jordan K.

This place has truly exceptional food. I'm not sure why it doesn't have more yelp reviews, but that's why I'm here! We got the moussaka (made with with jackfruit), shawarma plate, lentil soup, and chicken nuggets + fries for my four year old. Everything was delicious and extremely fresh, with generous portions. Vegans and carnivores alike will be blown away by the food. The space is small and well-decorated, very warm and inviting. And the owner is a sweetheart. I will definitely be coming back here next time I'm in Montreal!

Shawarma & Shish Taouk Plate
Dana S.

I saw this place while looking for places to eat in Montréal and became determined to try it, but then wasn't sure if it would actually be open because their website only lists the Mozart Ave location and the phone number listed online for this location doesn't work... but then I saw that the Uber Eats for this location is active, and that gave me enough confidence to take the chance and walk almost half an hour in the cold to satisfy my curiosity. It's a really casual place, order and pick up your food at the counter, and it looked like everything was being done by one man, at least out front. He was really nice and really seemed to care about making good food for his customers, and I felt like his attitude brought a lot of warmth to the place. I had a half Shawarma and half Shish Taouk plate. I didn't realize you could do half and half until the owner(?) suggested it. I will admit I couldn't really tell the difference between the two, but that is of very little importance because it was absolutely delicious food. The shredded meat (I think it's made from mushrooms) was super flavourful and the texture was great, same with the whipped garlic sauce. Big portion but it's all healthy stuff. Everything about this meal and the place hit the spot. As I always say when I find really good vegan eats, you do not have to be vegan or vegetarian to appreciate the flavour of this food, BUT as someone who does not eat chicken or other meats usually used in this type of cuisine I can especially appreciate that places like this exist so I can experience those amazing flavours.

Situated in downtown Saint-Hyacinthe (yes yes Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec), this little nice rustic…read morevegan restaurant is a must go for vegans. First off, I wanna say wow what a menu. For a non-vegan guy, I find the menu quite interesting and intriguing. Originally, I wanted to try their vegan Parmigiana eggplants but they didn't have any eggplants anymore. Bummer. So I went with my second choice, tempeh Pad Thai. As a Pad Thai lover, I should say I was a little disappointed by their rice noodles that they used but I'm not surprised by it since I'm at a vegan restaurant after all. It is still a rice vermicelli just not the ones you're used to. You have been warned. However, it doesn't take away its savouriness. The sauce was delicious. The mix of fresh veggies, spices, and herbs make this a unique dish. The tempeh were good, not plain. Accompanied all this with a fresh pressed cleansing juice; you can't get a healthier meal than that. Overall, great sweet little restaurant. The owner and the waiters/tress were very friendly and open to questions about their ingredients. Who said eating healthy has to sacrifice taste? Fun fact: they sell their ingredients that they use, you can try reproduce their dishes if you're that good.

Highly recommend this place if you are vegan and are looking for health Indian meal choices! Everything on our plate was delish! The place slowly started getting crowded for lunch since thali is only offered during lunch! Turmeric milk was the best!!! Would visit again! Montreal's most magical dining experience!…read more If you're looking for a reason to book a trip to Montreal, let me give you one: Tula. My husband and I visited during a recent trip to the city, and without question, it was the best meal we had -- and honestly, one of the most memorable dining experiences of our lives. From the moment you walk through the door, the space wraps you in warmth. The atmosphere is inviting, the decor puts you instantly at ease, and the staff greet you with the kind of genuine kindness that's increasingly rare. But it's Abhi and Renata (apologies if I've misspelled either name!) who truly make this place something extraordinary. These two are the heart and soul of Tula, and their passion for what they do radiates through every single aspect of the experience. We spent a few wonderful hours there, and I mean that -- the time just melted away. Renata sang for the entire restaurant, and her voice was absolutely stunning, a spontaneous and beautiful gift to everyone in the room. Abhi, in the most generous gesture, sat down and hand-wrote a list of vegan restaurant recommendations from around the globe for us to take home. These are people who love what they do and love the people they do it for. And then there's the food. Oh, the food. We started with an Indian taco special that set the tone perfectly, then moved on to the Tofu Achari Masala curry with chapati and the Dal Sambar with steamed rice -- both absolutely spectacular. We finished with a special pistachio cake dessert that was the perfect, dreamy ending to the meal. Every single dish tasted like it was made with genuine love and intention, because it was. This is vegan Indian cuisine at its very finest. I left Tula feeling something I didn't quite expect: greater faith in humanity. That might sound dramatic, but if you go -- and you absolutely must go, as soon as possible -- I think you'll understand exactly what I mean. Don't wait. Just go.
