This used to be our favorite restaurant in Menorca…read more But last night changes a few things First the food was not as excellent as it used to be - good just not excellent 2nd though and more serious - - my wife fell coming out of the restaurant and slipped as soon as we exited. The step walkway was damp from the humidity and is VERY SLICK. I went back up to tell them they should had put a sing up or better still take other precautions to make it easier/safer to walk They said they were aware but did neither of these!!

We stopped in here after visiting the beautiful beach in Sa Mesquida. Being the funny little…read moretourists that we are, we had decided to walk the whole way from Mahon to the beach and back. It was a BEAUTIFUL walk, but is on the road which made it a bit exciting as well as we had to dodge vehicles haha. After walking to the beach and climbing/exploring the area for a few hours, we were naturally starving. This seemed to be literally the only place open (and was only one of two restaurants we even saw). Located just before you enter the town proper, we (still damp from swimming, sweaty, and a little sandy) made our way up the hill for lunch. Upon entering we realized that we were a bit under dressed, it's a fairly upscale seeming place but there was also a wedding reception being held there so we looked even more out of place than we usually would have. Nonetheless we were treated very kindly and received prompt service. The prices were a little higher than we anticipated for lunch but it was also a nicer place than we expected as well...a problem that goes hand in hand. Obviously this wasn't the restaurants fault and the portions and quality were god so we were happy regardless. We got the fried anenomes and they were fantastic! Not too fishy, not too chewy, and with a nice breading. In an attempt to balance our fried food we got a salad which was refreshing and delicious. The table bread was wonderful as well; flaky, fresh, and served with some olive oil for dipping. The view was amazing and the walls were decorated with historic pictures of Mahon, Sa Mesquida, and Menorca which was a nice touch.

After a recommendation from a random local we met on the street (not a promoter) we went to this…read morerestaurant three times this week. We were not disappointed! The first evening we ordered the sea bass, cooked mallorcan style. The menu said it was for two people, but the dish would easily be enough for three persons. Non the least it was amazing! Second day we ordered paella. For me, this was the first time I eat paella in Spain (have tried it once in Norway, which hardly counts..) and in my opinion it was truly incredible here at the bodega! The waiter recommended a local red wine, Macia Batle from 2010 and it suited perfectly to the paella. The third and last day we ordered tapas. Potatoes with some sort of sauce on, meatballs, garlic shrimps, serrano ham, chorizos and chicken croquettes. If I would remove one dish it would be the chicken. It was okay, but that's all. The serrano ham was heavenly! They have a lot of them air drying in the ceiling in the restaurant and the rest of the interior makes the visit feel like you truly are in Spain, and not in a heavy trafficked tourist village. We got a local red vine to the tapas as well, but I can't remember the name of it. But it was spot on to the tapas, as the wine we got to the paella were. I would highly recommend this restaurant! The food and service is first class. It costs a bit more than the restaurants down on the beach, but you really get true value for the money!

Amazing food! I love it! Menu on many languages, nice service, traditional local food. I recommend…read moreto go:)
