I want to thank Cypress Assisted Living for taking such good care of my father…read more I brought my father to Cypress Assisted Living in early December 2025. Due to a fall, he had deteriorated over the previous six months. He could no longer walk, he lost 40lbs, and he suffered from delirium. When he arrived, we had to put him on hospice care. Within a few days of being in Cypress Assisted Living, he began to improve. It's now been four months since he arrived. He's gained back 20lbs. He hasn't had any delirium since his first few days there and he's "graduated" from hospice. He begins physical therapy this week to get him walking again. So how did this happen? It's very simple. Nellie (owner) has put together a staff that truly cares about the residents. They get dad up in the morning, get him breakfast and let him settle in his day. They have some activities, along with two big screen TVs in the common area. There are electric reclining chairs to accommodate every resident. The pictures you see on their website are 100% accurate. I visit at least once a week and EVERY time I visit him the place looks as beautiful as it does online. It's incredibly clean and has no bad odors. If you don't like what's for breakfast, they'll work with you to get something else. They are there to make the residents comfortable and happy. The owner (Nellie) is a nurse who understands how to treat seniors. Her people work 12-hour shifts. The resident only has to deal with one shift while they're awake, so it limits confusion for them. She keeps the place spotless. I was there and saw her moving the recliners to check that they were swept and mopped underneath. I'm not exaggerating when I say Cypress Assisted Living saved my father's life. During the first few weeks he would ask me, "Where do I go after I leave here?" Now he says he loves it here and doesn't want to leave. I can't wait to get him walking again, as it will make him so happy. Thank you to Nellie and her team for all they've done for our family.

I recently had a family needing to find a place for their mother, they trusted my suggestion to move her to Cypress Assisted Living and I've since received several messages from the family sharing how happy their mother is in her new home! "Chanel Mother seems to really like her new home! Thank you! And she really likes her nurse Sandy!" We absolutely recommended CAL for those looking for a more intimate assisted living community for their loved ones.

Everything started off on an excellent foot. Victoria was prompt with getting over the paperwork…read moreand everything was completed online which saved a ton of time. Yet once Michele White the caseworker took over, she dropped the ball. Although she was the one that shared a listing of providers for cremation, she failed to enter that information under my step-fathers case. Once he passed, the nurse Jariah called a company that is contracted by Harris County to come pick him up as if his family did not already complete our due diligence and make the final arrangements. My step-father was picked up from his assisted living facility and taken away like he was trash and an inconvenience. I had to call around looking for him in the time when we should be able to grieve our loss. Instead, I was forced to contact another company that I didn't even know existed and complete some documents to have him released to the provider we originally selected. No apology was offered. No sorry for your loss. Only call I received was for the family to be blamed for everything. Their staff acted as if our family was not proactive and caring enough to make the final arrangements in a timely manner. I highly recommend to find another hospice provider. These people a cut throat salesmen looking for the newest victims to target. They tell you everything they think you need to hear and once you sign the paperwork, they forget you exist. These people do NOT care about the patient but the billing. e were failed and yet we were the problem. Sadly no one cared nor were they concerned. Run and do not look back.

I was scared to leave her and I can't tell you how much my mom looks forward to her coming each week. She is so AWESOME. She always says she had a good day when Linda leaves. Linda sends updates and is so loving. It's a joy to have her around. Always upbeat and smiling. She gives us pointers to help with my mom. I don't know what I would do without her.

When our father was sent home with hospice we knew we needed help and upon arriving at home we were met with Sandi Heintz, the owner, and she was beyond helpful in explaining to us what services her company provided as well as keeping the hospice employee on task. The woman that Right at Home arranged to sit with our father that first night was a very sympathetic and understanding angel! Our father passed away 8 hours after arriving home and Nalli was exceedingly efficient and supportive to our entire family but most especially to our father. No one in our family was equipped to perform the medical task that were required to keep our father comfortable, but Nalli had the skills as well as the heart to lovingly care for him. We will forever be grateful for the tenderness and professionalism that Right at Home gave us during his final hours!

If anyone has to go through the experience of having to select an at home hospice care service,…read moreBayou City Hospice would be the perfect decision. I had the unfortunate pleasure of working with Bayou City Hospice and EVERY single worker (CNA, Nurse, Adminstrative Representative etc.) we encountered exuded an impeccable level of genuine care, thoughtfulness, and empathy that made the level of sadness/mourning that my family experienced (daily) while participating in at home hospice, just a little bit more bearable. The training that each worker experienced as it pertains to bedside manner and just seeing a patient and a patient's loved ones was evident with every encounter. It is clear that they instill in their workers the importance of tenderness, thoughtfulness, and care in a very effective manner. I hope to never need to need hospice care again, but if I had to, I would definitely start with Bayou City Hospice.

We were initially thrilled to have Bayou City Hospice provide care for our father, but our…read moreexperience has been extremely disappointing due to repeated failures in communication and follow through. Our assigned case manager, Rebecca (Becky), has shown a lack of competence in managing even the most basic aspects of our father's care. We were promised our very first nurse visit on a Friday, but that appointment was completely missed. After multiple calls, we finally tracked down Becky for an explanation - only to learn that the designated nurse was on vacation and no replacement had been properly arranged. As a case manager, one would expect her to be aware of her nurses' schedules and ensure continuity of care. Since it was already late in the day, we agreed to wait until the following Monday to meet with the designated nurse, along with the social worker, to minimize disruption and stress for our father. On Monday, however, a completely different nurse arrived (again not the designated one), who was still on vacation. On top of that, we had to chase down and double confirm with the social worker ourselves, even though we had been promised both would arrive together. When we followed up with Becky to understand what was happening and to express the strain this constant rescheduling placed on us (since we were repeatedly having to take time off work) her response was flippant and dismissive by implying that we were difficult and suggested we simply apply for FMLA leave, effectively shifting the blame onto us rather than addressing the underlying issues. To make matters worse, when we called the main line to express our concerns, we were told our file stated we had "declined 24-hour follow-up visitation." This is absolutely false. We never declined visitation; Bayou City Hospice simply failed to send a nurse on Friday due to their own internal miscommunication and lack of organization. Fast forward to today: we had finally rescheduled for our designated nurse to arrive at 9:00 a.m., only to receive a text confirming they would actually come at 10:30 instead. This constant shifting of schedules is exhausting and cannot keep happening. We haven't even officially started my father's care and yet Becky has already demonstrated that she cannot manage the most basic responsibilities. The other members of the organization have been nothing short of pleasant and extremely helpful (when we can actually get ahold of them or meet them in person). That said, we do not recommend that Becky continue in the administrative role. Despite her efforts, she has demonstrated that she is not able to meet the responsibilities required of the position.
