I had an amazing experience at Shalom Dental with Dr. Doris Ohevshalom and her assistant, Veronica. The entire office was warm, welcoming, professional, and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. I originally came in for a root canal that had been bothering me for quite some time. Dr. Doris treated me with so much compassion, patience, love, and care that I honestly felt as though I were her own child. She spoke in such a soft, reassuring tone and went above and beyond to address all of my concerns. After I left her office, I had no more pain. What impressed me even more happened later while I was on vacation in Florida. I went to a dentist there for a cleaning, and after looking at my X-rays, he asked who had performed my root canal. He told me it was one of the cleanest and most professional root canals he had ever seen. That says everything about the quality of Dr. Doris's work. I'm truly grateful for such a positive experience and highly recommend Shalom Dental. I'm looking forward to coming back although hopefully next time it's only for a checkup and cleaning. :) read more

Dr Doris and Dr Cohen are very good dentists, however their front office staff needs a lot of orientation in manners and customer service.

Sadly, I'm here to say that yet another tooth that was worked on by Dr. Shalom has to be replaced. Now, I have to pay again for new work to be done on the same tooth that Dr. Shalom originally worked on. I am not happy to have to pay again for the same work to be done to the same tooth. Shame on her for doing poor and shoddy work. This now makes two of my teeth that i had to have re-done by a new dentist. Definitely wouldn't recommend Dr. Shalom at all. read more

Very friendly and excellent dental work..After an emergency painless root canal and emergency wisdom tooth extraction...I finally choose to have veneers on my aging teeth, which now look great. I'm very disappointment with Shalom Dental, Brooklyn NY. The office took over a month and a half to submit my claim/paperwork to the insurance company for my root canal to find out what they would cover. Dr. Ohevshalom said they would call me once they heard back from my insurance company, but I didn't get a call, and started to follow up with them. Every time I called the office I would get the run around and be told something different each time. The office staff is completely unprofessional, rude and quite argumentative. Even though I told them I was in pain and discomfort they still didn't submit it on time, and tried to cover their tracks by changing the date the claim/paperwork was supposedly sent each time I called her office. The office staff lied and tried to blame my insurance company for the delay in response, when in fact, I find out that my claim wasn't submitted right away like it should have been. Dr. Ovevshalom's office only seems to care about money. I find that Dr. Ohevshalom did shoddy work on a previous root canal she did for me a few months ago. I still to this day have trouble eating on that side. I feel like an extra piece was put between my two teeth. I can feel something there which is extremely uncomfortable and feels like plastic, and when I went to see Dr. Ohevshalom she looked in my mouth, and basically said, "No there isn't anything there." She did a quite look at it, and basically brushed it off. I am now looking for a new dentist. I want to go to a dental office where they actually care about their patients. A place where they don't lie to their patients. A place where the office staff doesn't argue and get rude with their patients. A place where the staff isn't unprofessional. A place that doesn't ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY!!!! The lack of professionalism at Dr.Ohevshalom's (Shalom Dental,) is a disgrace. They should be ashamed of themselves. read more

After many years of painful experiences at the dentists, I have finally found a dentist that is painless. Dr. Shalom is honest, caring and most of all pain-free. She makes your comfort a priority. By far the best dentist I have ever had the honor of going to. I have been to many in my 61 years. Furthermore, she makes certain to get approval from your insurance before doing any work so that you do not get stuck with an enormous bill that you cannot pay. Dr. Shalom does everything she can to save your teeth before removing them or having them removed. I have been using Shalom Dental for over 10 years and would never think of using anyone else. I have never been treated so rudely before by a medical office over the phone. I was calling to simply have my x-rays sent to my new dentist and ask which teeth I had filled. I called a week before I needed them and the woman on the phone said she would email me the information. I called a week later, and the man on the phone was INCREDIBLY rude, lying to me saying he had "archived" my records and they could not be accessed again, when I been to the office just over a year ago. He kept asking "why do you need to know?" I believe it is actually illegal how they treated me, not to mention incredibly rude. I would NEVER step foot in this office again. read more

UNPROFESSIONAL !!! Booked an online appointment for a dental emergency. Received a confirmation email . Showed up on time, only to be told they were closed. This was by the Doctor herself. Why advertise Sunday appointments if your closed ? Then When I tell her shes unprofessional, she says fiiiiine come in. Like she's doing me a favor. I left. This dentist is wonderful she is caring considerate and I'd have to say the most painless tooth extraction that I have ever experienced. Came in here with pre-paid cleaning. Doctor tried to sell me other services. When I refused and asked to do the cleaning I paid for, I was told that I paid for just teeth cleaning, and if I wanted a good cleaning, " deep cleaning", I would have to pay more. I then was given a less than two minutes cleaning. It was worse than cleanings I do myself at home. I tried to say something to the Doctor, she just walked away. Stay away. read more

Stay AWAY... went to see that DDS a few years ago and still have an awful feeling. Had two dental insurances at the time I saw her. She was a participant in both of them, but she said that I have to pay for the services and when file a claim with my insurance companies to get reimbursed. That was said after she took impressions. It's called INSURANCE FRAUD. I did not want to pursue anything at the time, but ended up paying $ 800.00 and was told by my insurance carriers that she had to get a preapproval first and when wait for them to reimburse her. Must say I usually don't go to a random dentist office to get a cleaning, but it was recommended by a friend so I did. I was a little hesitant going into a dental office name "Shalom" if you know what I mean. Once I got their it was smooth sailing, just your ordinary paperwork and i was in the chair.
