Golf season 2018 is here! Wanting to celebrate my dad's…read morebelated birthday and mother's day - we made a tee time for around noon to kick off the season. My mission has been to try new courses each time, although I admit, I have my favorites. This course checked all the boxes because it(s) 1) Close to home - and bars/restaurants!! Located on the north west side of Bowles (and Federal), this course is a stone's throw from downtown Littleton, The Platte and St Patrick's Brewery! 2) A more challenging course! Being that there is no Par 3, each hole is designed to put your best skills to use! Many holes feature water or excessive sand pits, so better get your practice in! 3) The perfect spot to practice! With a full fledged driving range and putting green, there is a spot for everyone! 4) Decently priced - for residents! To actually pay resident price though - a South Suburban member card must be shown. $20/person for resident and $22 for non residents Friday - Sunday! Carts are not charged per person either! 5) Pristine greens! This course was so well kept, beautifully landscaped, and so lush with greenery everywhere! Staff was a little pretentious, but made our encounter quick and easy! I know we'll be back to get our game on! #golfgirl

Yelp has this place filed under "swimming pools," which is not totally correct. SGCC is a…read morethree-in-one recreational facility having GOLF and TENNIS in addition to swimming. While the tennis courts aren't great, the golf is fantastic and is a big part of what SGCC has to offer. It is, after all, a country club. This is a very nice little country club, tucked away among the residential neighborhoods of Southglenn. It's not big or fancy, but the memberships are some of the best value for recreational facilities in the area. They've got a 9-hole golf course, regulation-length swimming pool, and two tennis courts. The staff are very friendly and accommodating; the whole place is run with a very personal touch. The grounds are beautiful and lush, with mature trees and gorgeous flowerbeds; it's like a little slice of the countryside embedded in the heart of the suburbs!

In August of this 2015 my wife and I had a window of 3 hours to play golf on a Saturday morning…read morewith our young son. I have the GolfNow app so I pulled up a few courses after unsuccessfully trying to book a tee time that worked at the South Suburban Par 3. SouthGlenn CC popped up as an option so I contacted the course to set up a time. We played that morning and the second I walked onto the grounds I knew this is where my family belonged. I grew up in Carroll, Iowa where I had access to a nice 9 hole municipal and an 18 hole Country Club my entire youth. My summers were spent golfing, working, and swimming at the Club. As I grew older my first jobs were as a bag boy, then in the Pro Shop, and eventually out to the grounds crew. I moved to Colorado in 1999 and essentially shelved my clubs other than playing in charity scramble events a few times a year, and the occasional business or buddy rounds at Bear Dance, Ravenna, or Arrowhead etc.... Golf in Colorado is expensive! And it is SLOW. Since joining SGCC I play every chance I get. After first joining I would show up at sunrise and walk 9 holes before 7:30am to be at work before 8. If I have an hour or so during the day or before heading home I'll go play. My wife is beginning to play and my 3 young children are all beginning to learn and love the game. We are hooked on SGCC! I see the value in this place and I am committed to making sure SGCC sees another 50+ years as the "best kept secret" in South Denver.

The executive course offers a nice blend of mainly par 3 with a a few par 4 thrown into the mix. You will not find a par 5 though. The grounds are kept up nicely and the greens are quite fast. The staff is always polite and welcoming the moment you walk in. That's always appreciated. The grill offers inexpensive sandwiches and beverages of all sorts. Make it a double always I say. The Links is a bit off the beaten path near Quebec and C470 but def worth the drive to enjoy a relaxing day of golf.
