Solid 4 Stars. The place was visually pleasing, with the interior resembling old-timey diners. It felt like a movie walking in. I tried one of the deluxe flavors of their many milkshake selections. It was the strawberry shortcake, it was the perfect thicc consistency. Shake Shake Shake has perfected the ideal ratio between watery and being so thick you cant slurp it up. The flavor was quite standard in my opinion, I would even say it is the same flavor as the strawberry cheesecake blizzard at DQ. I ordered a small milkshake and that cost me almost 6$ for a small... for a small. I would definitely come back and try their burgers (which are 8$ from what I remember). Stood at the order station for about 10 minutes waiting to order. Wasn't that busy, roughly 3-4 groups already seated. The lady that took our order was horrid, had a shit attitude, and acted like she could've cared less. I've never been in before but have ordered off of Uber Eats. I called to add chicken tenders to my doordash order because the item was not included on the menu. The woman seemed nice, and promised that if I put in an order she would remember my name and add them to the order. She did not. The order came without the food and my child is crying because she's hungry. I would have ordered somewhere else if she had just been honest about not being able to do it instead of lying to get the order. When I called back, I talked to the girl and explained what happened and she got rude and snarky with me for no reason. I didn't yell at her, I was nice and pleasant, I found myself having to actually calm her down. When I asked her if I could speak to the woman I spoke to before if that wasn't her, she BARKED "tHat's tHe mAnaGeR." And I said "okay... is she available?" and I heard her ask the manager about a doordash order and the manager completely blew me off. I could hear her say "I'm too busy". Wow, just wow with this place. If you're too busy, don't promise food you can't deliver then blow the person off entirely. Super messed up place. Will never order here again. read more

My boyfriend finally went to the window to ask where our shake were.....the two on the counter were still there.....the young lady looked at him like a deer caught in the headlights...asked him to move aside while she helped someone else.....then went to look for our order.....then the shakes on the counter were picked up by another young lady and put in the sink....then those same shakes were taken out of the sink.....plastic wrap put over the top and then brought to us as fresh shakes....the whipped cream and ice cream was totally melted from sitting on the counter for 20 minutes so basically they were milk with flavor.....when I went to ask for my money back they said they couldnt do it because there wasnt a manger there ( I have worked in resturants and there is always at least a shift supervisor there just for these reasons)...I left with them having my money for a product I never got and a 25 percent tip they did not deserve. I do have the managers phone number and one hour after the first message she still has not called back.......never go here.....this is probally the worst experience I have had to date at any restaurant in Tacoma. I don't know who owns this place, but this is a great example of why you never leave kids in charge. After a 90-minute drive to get here from Issaquah, it was an absolute mess. We saw photos online of juicy burgers and portions of fries so generous, you'd swear you were in Idaho. When we arrived, there were only two customers and they were eating, there were at least 5 employees out front, but tables were not clean and no one was at the order station. We stood at the station so long, we had to ask if the kids huddled around the milkshake machine were working or just hanging out. When the girl finally made her way to help up, she could not have been nicer. We placed our order, and the food came so fast, we had to question if it was ours. There was however a problem. The portion of potatoes was literally about a 1/3 of what the photos showed. In the pics you see, fries are spilling out of every side and tater tots are mounded up like a volcano. My fries looked like a fast-food small fry, despite paying for a large. My friends tater tots could have been counted on two hands We looked at each other and in unison said, "What the hell". I stopped the girl that served us and said, we came here based on photos we saw and our plates look nothing like them. The girl responded by saying, I'll let them know. I don't know who "They" are, but I assumed it was the kitchen staff and I also assumed they would bring out more potatoes. They didn't. When I went to fill my beverage, I noticed girls at the counter with potatoes more than double the portion we were served, so I pointed it out to the girl, and she flat out blew us off by saying, "That is what you were served. I laughed and said, you are going to let us leave unhappy over $.25 cents worth of potatoes and she got ready to say something wise before the girl that took our order said, why don't you just get them more potatoes. The burger was decent, but after that drive and experience, I'd never return, and I can see why this place isn't packed. When you are inconsistent, non-service based and rude, you are lucky you can keep your lease current. This place should be the hippest thing around and it's not because it's clearly phantom owned and poorly managed. We should have just took the next exit off 5 to Blazing Onion, then again, we should have just gone to the Bellevue location and saved all the traffic and hassle to try and support an independent operation that clearly doesn't care about it's customer. read more

This is one of the best burgers I have ever had in the PNW.. kidding! First off this place took forever getting my one burger & french fry order. To be honest I think they forgot about it because I saw my order just sitting there by the pickup counter. My fries were cold and my burger was smashed to shit. It literally looks like someone sat on it and the taste of the burger wasn't that fulfilling. I barely got any bacon and not even toppings. So upset. We heard this place was good, called in and made an order. We ordered a double double, a stadium burger, a cheesy hotdog and a box of tots and a box of fries. We picked up, didnt check the bag and got home to find no hot dog but a grilled cheese instead, and one hickory burger which we didnt order, a stadium burger and no double double. And the worst part was that both burgers had bacon! We cant eat bacon. The funny thing is the grilled cheese was good but we had wanted a hot dog. Tots and fries were ok, no seasoning. I went with a friend in July for the first time and they were super friendly. My friend is vegetarian and I'm vegan, so the girl at the counter helped us order with the options available. She explained everything and was so nice about it. Vegan burgers were good, had a nice flavor to them. A bit crumbly, but that's to be expected unless it's Impossible or Beyond. My order was correct and we took our food to go to eat at the park nearby. All in all, typical diner fare but it gets big huge points for me for the decent vegan options. Tried Shake Shake Shake for lunch, and while the aesthetic of the decor was very nice, the food and service was terrible. It took a very long time to be served, and once we had order the food took forever. My milkshake arrived as the wrong flavor, and the burgers had paper thin patties that tasted terrible. All of the seasoning tasted like cheap store bought sauces. Overall, I wouldn't recommend eating here, the food is McDonald's level bad. read more

This is down in Tacoma, and it does such an amazing job or representing the 253. The place is lightly lit and has a variety of food. The burgers are amazing (to die for), and the place is known for their milkshakes. I took a photo of their burger, and the staff were so genuine about it, but they liked it so much they used it. I'm glad I could offer my help, but the fact that they are still locally growing made it special to me. I had a rice krispy milkshake and it was soooo good. I had so much, and I dipped my fries in it and it made it bomb.com. Most people love coming here for the HUGE light up sign that says "EAT," because of the pictures they can take with it. read more

This was our first visit to Shake Shake Shake and they did not disappoint. They were welcoming knowing it was our first time. We enjoyed the double double and the steak and bacon burger. I went to Shake Shake Shake when it first opened and, quite honestly, wasn't blown away then. Fast forward to yesterday. My son and I found ourselves in the area and decided to give it another try. We were greeted by a Henna-hands-clad teenager at the register. She seemed less than enthused to be there. I ordered a mushroom swiss burger and tots. My son ordered corn dogs and onion rings. I noticed that the dipping sauces were 69 cents, but I ordered one. As we were waiting for the food, I looked around. This place is a dump. A DUMP. There was food and debris all over the carpet, the floor was in horrible shape, food all over the walls, broken/cracked windows. In the bathroom, there was some gross substance that had dripped down the sink "bowl" (which was a bucket of sorts - trying to be kitschy maybe?). I think it was soap, but it was obvious the sink hadn't been cleaned in weeks. The food arrived. My son was happy with his corn dog and onion rings, although I thought the rings were overcooked. My tots were extremely overcooked and bordered on shriveled. My burger was tasteless. The only thing that was tasty was the dipping sauce, but it wasn't even half full in the little plastic container. I went up to the cashier and asked if I could have more, it wasn't even half full, and she said, "That will be 69 cents." I wasn't about to argue with her. My Monday was almost over. Then she asked me, "Do you remember what your table number was?" I looked behind me. I was literally the only customer in the restaurant. I shook my head and went back to sit down. I didn't even finish my food. Why waste the calories and fat if it doesn't even taste good. Never going back. Tacoma has so many other good burger places. (I went because this is my first time and my friend paid). They have a lot of bright colors a bold things but that is there to cover the realization of how broke this place is. Their bathrooms are awful. They have two single rooms with buckets as sinks and a paper towel holder that is broken off the wall. I will say, we both ordered the tiger shake...and that was as yummy as it has always been. Maybe we just came in a on a bad day, but it's sad to say that we probably won't come back unless we hear that the service and quality has been restored to what it once was. Another note: I ordered a small shake to eat there, and it came in a plastic container, and both shakes with plastic straws. The order was missing items. I've tried to call the restaurant 7 times in the last 45 minutes. So then I tried to email the owner, per the information on their home page. I tried from my personal email account and from my business email account. Both emails were rejected. So, since I have NO other way to contact the company, I've had to resort to this. And who runs a business where they can not be contacted?? Horrible customer service. My family and I spent about $100 on food there, wanting to try everything because it all sounded good, plus I have a family of six. We ordered 4 shakes, some chili cheese tater tots and a burger with no onions. The burger came with onions. The chili was dry and I didn't see any melted cheese, and when I asked the cook yelled at us saying he mixed it in and it's not his fault we can't see the cheese. ( We did order dinner cheese fries too, they just melted cheese on fries and some chicken strips, which were actually good) We paid $2 for some ranch and ketchup. The people next to us who were there before we arrived, ordered shakes too and received them before we did, two new people who came in ordered shakes and received them before we did. We didn't get it our shakes until our meal was done, and ready to leave. Absolutely worse customer service ever, they didn't even apologize for taking so long with our shakes. It's too bad, it is cute but I will never go there again. And yes we had 4 shakes, but the people next to us had 3, so I don't think it had to with how many they had to make. I want to try all of their milk shakes! I was overwhelmed at all of the choices. The girl at the counter was really helpful in answering my questions and making suggestions, since I had never been there and told her I was overwhelmed, and asked her what she recommended. I ended up just getting a root beer swirly, which was rootbeer mixed with ice cream, with more ice cream, essentially an even more awesome version of a rootbeer float. The place itself is cute, the decor is reminiscent of an old school parlor. They have an outdoor seating area, perfect for enjoying the sunshine and your shake. It would have been nice if there were water out by the garden because it was very sunny and hot when I visited. The shake came out first. Loved this place! Delicious food at great prices in an adorable setting. There's a perfect balance of old-time diner with modern decor (see attached pic #1). The "eat" sign is a great spot for pictures. You order at the counter first before you sit down. I got the seasonal dirt pie milkshake which was so yummy and creamy. It was definitely more filling than I expected, and I got the smaller size. For my meal, I got the Mushroom Swiss burger with fries. It was flavorful and savory. I loved every bite. I ordered the smaller size in the fries as well and the portions were huge! Very reasonable prices especially given how much food you get. Loved how delicious everything was and how friendly the workers were. Would honestly consider driving from Seattle to Tacoma just to eat here! read more
