A for effort. We went shortly after the grand opening on a rainy Saturday. They still had a long line, and were churning out food as fast as they could. Therefore the burger was a bit smooshed and haphazardly put together, but tasted on par with other locations. Dare I say this location is actually faster in order-to-burger time than others! Ambiance is modern and pretty standard compared to other Shake Shack chains. This one is in its own building and not just a booth in the food court.

The highly anticipated Shake Shack at Tacoma Mall opened its doors on Nov. 12, 2025 and I couldnt be more excited. They offer both indoor and outdoor seats, and all the best of Shake Shack including app order and kiosk and in-person order and they are super fast and quality. My favorite here is their BLT, and Shack dog, and their shakes, which you cant go wrong with any flavor. And if you have not tried their regular "hamburger" (not ShackBurger but just their "hamburger" that comes with just the patties), try it because its simple and yummy, just good patty and bun! The restaurant is in their opening phase, so obviously they're very busy yet staff are so kind, customers are served timely. They keep busy with constantly cleaning tables and emptying trash and they also came by to ask me if my food is good and if I needed anything else. Pro Tip: If you place order "to-go," they package it up for you nicely so that you can still sit down and eat at restaurant if you choose to do that (theres a box inside the bag that you can use as a tray). One more thing: I did not notice any alcoholic bevvies at this location. Usually they have the ShakeShack house wines in cans but I did not see that offered at this location. I haven't been to Shake Shack in a couple of months so I dont know if theyre phasing it out or if its just not ready at this location yet. : ) This Shake Shack is located in outdoor type mall, "The Village," the newest part of the Tacoma Mall which is currently going through massive expansion phase. Next to Shake Shack, several new stores are coming including Dave's Hot Chicken and Gong Cha (omg!). Love Sac couch store is already open. There's plenty of parking and getting in and out of "The Village" was easy. I love using their app for promo deals and ordering ahead, so I definitely recommend that if you want to save some time and your dollas this holiday szn!

I love this place. Everytime I try to go to Dave's Hot Chicken next door the line is out the door and down the sidewalk. But that's OK, because I love Shake Shack's Smoke Shack burger and their frozen chocolate custard. It's the best!!! Thanks for coming to town Shake Shack.

Love it. Love the batter on the chicken, love the burgers, the chicken bites and oh yeah, get the Korean style. The lettuce wrap burger is great but I did feel it more lettuce than expected but hey, most places would just put the patty bare on a leaf and call it good. Here it's wrapped and has tomato (hold if you want) and their burger sauce and it comes wrapped. Sodas are the usual. App is a great savings tool and for weekday lunch. Worth the calories to stop here. Glad the initial shake down () is over and the crews are running smoothly and making great food happen.

ShackBurger French Onion 'Shroom Burger Chicken Shack Fries Chocolate Shake

We're a fan of Shake Shack, but have only been to Nevada locations in the past. So we're thrilled to have one nearby. Burgers were overcooked and lacking flavor, would not order French onion shroom again. Major disappointment on that French onion one. Chicken shack was great! Crispy on the outside, flavorful and tender and juicy on inside. Fries were fresh and tasty. Chocolate shake was way too chocolatey. I asked if we could have it exchanged with a different flavor. The gal behind the counter snapped "she'll have to pay for a different one" mind you I took one sip of the chocolate. I thought how rude and poor customer service skills! The lady Shelly delivering orders in the dining area was extremely kind and told me not to worry that they would get it straightened out. She also told me a better option for that shake would be a "black & white" which is half chocolate half vanilla she said she didn't care for the chocolate herself as it was also too chocolatey for her. She was really going above and beyond and the only one that appeared to be working the dining room during an extremely busy time. I know they just opened and were busy. Just didn't appreciate the gal behind the counter's remarks and I think she was in leadership position. They did end up replacing it. I chose strawberry and it was really good. Will give them another try once the newness wears off. Parking was a bit of a challenge as that area was busy. Only going to get worse the closer to the holidays.

I paid 20 bucks for a "large" drink, cheeseburger and small fry. The cashier tried twice to have me tip. The food was OK, but it was so small. The burger was plain, the sauce had no flavor and I had to add Catsup and mustard. The bun was good.

    They forgot my Korean bites

Mean service and they forgot my food and I live in Federal Way I wanted to try this food with my family at first it was nice but after they were rude and when I call them to let them know to at least do a better job in checking the food they hang up on me like WHAT 1star never again I'm going back get better shake shack

Shake Shack consistently has excellent burgers. In time, they'll be able to manage peak times better.

The Dawg Eat Dog food truck is an absolute must-try!…read more When I review hot dogs around the country, I'm always searching for vendors who understand the true art of serving a great hot dog. For me, the gold standard is simple: a hot dog that reminds me of that first grilled dog at a family BBQ--perfect char, served hot, and not buried under a mountain of toppings. One thing I'll never understand is boiled hot dogs. Boiling strips away flavor. If you're a hot dog vendor, take notes from Dawg Eat Dog and step up your game. What impressed me? They grilled the hot dog. They toasted the bun. The dog was hot and flavorful. I suspect they may steam the hot dogs before grilling, which is actually a smart move for food trucks because it reduces wait times while still serving a hot product. Whatever they're doing, it works. I found Dawg Eat Dog at Sumner Rhubarb Days, and after one bite, they jumped straight to #2 on my Best Hot Dog List. Now, for full disclosure, the #1 spot is still held by Smokey Joe's Hot Dogs LLC in Peoria, Arizona. I can say that confidently because I owned that stylish shipping container restaurant myself! And before anyone asks, my personal favorite hot dog of all time is still the 7-Eleven Spicy Bite eaten completely naked--no condiments. Sometimes simplicity wins. If you're still searching for your go-to hot dog, use Dawg Eat Dog as your benchmark for what a quality hot dog experience should be. Great flavor, great execution, and a great example of how hot dogs are supposed to be served.
