Spicy fries
Veronica C.

My mother and I decided to give this place a try last night since it seems popular. We had burgers, spicy fries and the dubai chocolate shake. The food was decent but nothing to really write home about. The shake however was really not good. For $10 each shake, I was expecting some delicious chocolate and pistachio flavors but instead it tasted like thick milk. An extremely bland milky flavor with shredded pastry crisps and pistachio on top. No chocolate flavor whatsoever. This is a place that has "Shake" in their name so I'd expect the shakes to be the best part of the experience but it was actually the worst. If I come back for another burger, I'll get it with a lemonade or some fruity drink next time but with as dissatisfied I was with that shake, I won't get another shake here again.

ShackBurger Lettuce Wrap

After building up an appetite walking through the mall, I stopped into Shake Shack for a quick bite. They have ordering kiosks and staff at the counter so it makes the ordering line quick. Plenty of indoor and outdoor patio seating. I ordered the Shack Burger lettuce wrap as a double, west coast loaded fries and a drink on the side. Considering my burger didn't come with a bun, opted for lettuce wrap, it was still super filling as a double and the fries on the side. Everything was cooked and prepared well - the lettuce wrap got a bit messy with the burger juices dripping, but it was so delicious, just grab extra napkins. The food tasted fresh and has that restaurant grilled flavor, not the average fast food burger!

The restaurant was lively and busy, but still well-organized. It felt welcoming despite the crowd. I placed a pickup order at the Tacoma location, and it was pretty busy when I arrived. I had to wait a little longer than expected, but the staff was kind and helpful. They checked on me and my order several times, which I really appreciated. I ordered a lettuce-wrapped burger, and it was delicious. The vegetables were fresh, and the burger was juicy and well-seasoned. Even without the bun, it was very satisfying. Overall, I had a great experience. I'm really glad they opened a Tacoma location--now we don't have to drive far to get Shake Shack. I'll definitely be back, especially to try their milkshakes next time!

Ordered online via the app. Food was ready at expected time. The inside seemed clean. Since this is a new location everything was looking new and clean. Lots of people dining in as well as ordering online for pick up. Food was fresh and hot. Burgers are not huge, but good. Nice crust on the burger. Better flavor than some smash burgers in the area. Prices are a little high considering you order everything separately and portionside are on the small side. About 6 small onion rings for $6, for example. They did just open and it is the holiday season...so, yes--parking is a little scarce. We will return.

A for effort. We went shortly after the grand opening on a rainy Saturday. They still had a long line, and were churning out food as fast as they could. Therefore the burger was a bit smooshed and haphazardly put together, but tasted on par with other locations. Dare I say this location is actually faster in order-to-burger time than others! Ambiance is modern and pretty standard compared to other Shake Shack chains. This one is in its own building and not just a booth in the food court.

The highly anticipated Shake Shack at Tacoma Mall opened its doors on Nov. 12, 2025 and I couldnt be more excited. They offer both indoor and outdoor seats, and all the best of Shake Shack including app order and kiosk and in-person order and they are super fast and quality. My favorite here is their BLT, and Shack dog, and their shakes, which you cant go wrong with any flavor. And if you have not tried their regular "hamburger" (not ShackBurger but just their "hamburger" that comes with just the patties), try it because its simple and yummy, just good patty and bun! The restaurant is in their opening phase, so obviously they're very busy yet staff are so kind, customers are served timely. They keep busy with constantly cleaning tables and emptying trash and they also came by to ask me if my food is good and if I needed anything else. Pro Tip: If you place order "to-go," they package it up for you nicely so that you can still sit down and eat at restaurant if you choose to do that (theres a box inside the bag that you can use as a tray). One more thing: I did not notice any alcoholic bevvies at this location. Usually they have the ShakeShack house wines in cans but I did not see that offered at this location. I haven't been to Shake Shack in a couple of months so I dont know if theyre phasing it out or if its just not ready at this location yet. : ) This Shake Shack is located in outdoor type mall, "The Village," the newest part of the Tacoma Mall which is currently going through massive expansion phase. Next to Shake Shack, several new stores are coming including Dave's Hot Chicken and Gong Cha (omg!). Love Sac couch store is already open. There's plenty of parking and getting in and out of "The Village" was easy. I love using their app for promo deals and ordering ahead, so I definitely recommend that if you want to save some time and your dollas this holiday szn!

I love this place. Everytime I try to go to Dave's Hot Chicken next door the line is out the door and down the sidewalk. But that's OK, because I love Shake Shack's Smoke Shack burger and their frozen chocolate custard. It's the best!!! Thanks for coming to town Shake Shack.

Chicken Sandwich
Tornadoroo K.

Love it. Love the batter on the chicken, love the burgers, the chicken bites and oh yeah, get the Korean style. The lettuce wrap burger is great but I did feel it more lettuce than expected but hey, most places would just put the patty bare on a leaf and call it good. Here it's wrapped and has tomato (hold if you want) and their burger sauce and it comes wrapped. Sodas are the usual. App is a great savings tool and for weekday lunch. Worth the calories to stop here. Glad the initial shake down () is over and the crews are running smoothly and making great food happen.

ShackBurger French Onion 'Shroom Burger Chicken Shack Fries Chocolate Shake
Lorie H.

We're a fan of Shake Shack, but have only been to Nevada locations in the past. So we're thrilled to have one nearby. Burgers were overcooked and lacking flavor, would not order French onion shroom again. Major disappointment on that French onion one. Chicken shack was great! Crispy on the outside, flavorful and tender and juicy on inside. Fries were fresh and tasty. Chocolate shake was way too chocolatey. I asked if we could have it exchanged with a different flavor. The gal behind the counter snapped "she'll have to pay for a different one" mind you I took one sip of the chocolate. I thought how rude and poor customer service skills! The lady Shelly delivering orders in the dining area was extremely kind and told me not to worry that they would get it straightened out. She also told me a better option for that shake would be a "black & white" which is half chocolate half vanilla she said she didn't care for the chocolate herself as it was also too chocolatey for her. She was really going above and beyond and the only one that appeared to be working the dining room during an extremely busy time. I know they just opened and were busy. Just didn't appreciate the gal behind the counter's remarks and I think she was in leadership position. They did end up replacing it. I chose strawberry and it was really good. Will give them another try once the newness wears off. Parking was a bit of a challenge as that area was busy. Only going to get worse the closer to the holidays.

Small condiment cup for size reference.

I paid 20 bucks for a "large" drink, cheeseburger and small fry. The cashier tried twice to have me tip. The food was OK, but it was so small. The burger was plain, the sauce had no flavor and I had to add Catsup and mustard. The bun was good.

I saw that they have hwachaeji for a limited time so I was motivated to stop by. My boyfriend, little brother, our two dogs and I got to the location around 6ish and we saw they had a couple outdoor benches. We also saw they have a pick up window which I thought was pretty neat. My boyfriend and I decided to go inside to order while my little brother and our dogs waited for us outside. They have a lot of seating inside, a well-maintained bathroom, a water station, a spot to open bottled drinks and more. You order through a kiosk as my boyfriend and I stood at the ordering spot and they seemed too busy to notice us. Once we placed our order, we saw how efficient the workers were at getting orders made. They were quite busy when we arrived and even afterwards as there was people coming in to order or pick up orders. We ordered the Saeuji, Seoul Burger, Bulgogiger, Biscoff Shake, Hwachaeji, Fanta, garlic French fries, and french fries. The food and drinks were all so good, but we all agreed that the Saeuji was the best of the three. The Biscoff Shake was refreshing and smooth and I really enjoyed the modern twist on hwachaeji.

On our map showed up Out and About with amazing reveiws. What we did not realize was that it is in a U-Haul parking lot. This makes it a little bit of a tight squeeze if there is a long line but the staff here work fast to get your food out quickly to you. In total, it took less than 10 minutes from when we turned in and ordered to when we were leaving with our food. The burgers here are delicious - as many have compared, I would say they are akin to an In and Out burger, which is one of my favorite burgers. If I went back, I would bypass the fries. I like mine crispy and these were a bit limp. That's okay though because, again, the burger is amazing. Definitely worth a stop in. And in my opinion, the perfect stop if you're hungry and heading back to Seattle from a hike at Mt. Rainier.

It's a really tiny little trailer, so I understand they're working with limited space, but having cars loop around in what feels like a figure-eight can be chaotic. People get impatient, start honking, and it's easy to accidentally cut someone off without realizing it. They're just burgers, people--everyone needs to relax a little! That said, despite how busy it was, the line moved surprisingly fast. I ordered a double cheeseburger with everything, a side of onion rings, and a black raspberry shake. The shake was fantastic--definitely a highlight of the meal. The burger was also really good: flavorful, fresh, and exactly what I was hoping for. The only disappointment was the onion rings. They were incredibly greasy--so much so that they actually upset my stomach. I'm not sure if that's typical, but I probably wouldn't order them again. Next time I'd give the fries a try instead. One thing that really stood out was the pricing. It's refreshing to find a place that still offers fair prices when it feels like everything else costs an arm and a leg these days. Overall, I'd definitely come back. The burger and shake were worth it, and as long as I skip the onion rings, I think it'll be a solid meal.
