I got the shack burger that had the fried portobello mushroom on top. The burger was really good and all of the toppings went well with it. the only thing that I didn't like about it was I thought the mushroom was a little chewy. I really had to bite hard to get through it. I also got fries with the cheese sauce. The fries were really crispy on the outside and the cheese was different than your standard dipping cheese. The color was a lot whiter than normal and it had a very good creamy taste. I'm not sure what type of cheese it is but it must not be cheddar. read more

Not a great first impression at all. Ordering was great. Food got to our table in about 15 minutes, which was a bit long considering that it wasn't busy. The food looked sloppy. Toppings were sliding off the bun. Buns were smooshed. I was missing items from my order, including toppings and a side order, and we had an extra plain burger that we didn't order. The food was fine, but nothing special. The burgers didn't have salt or a seared flavor. It was just texture. The fried foods, both fries and pickles, were great. But overall a waste of money. I didn't enjoy the food for the $70 that we spent. It was like getting an upcharged burger from some basic drive thru place. I remember when this place first opened a few years ago. The lines were long and people were at the registers. Now I know why this place wasn't so busy when I recently stopped in. The restaurant was filthy, the registers were unmanned (self-service tablet was used for ordering), and employees were chatting and laughing it up in the kitchen--nobody that worked there could be seen. It was such an odd feeling, like the place was on auto-pilot. My daughter and I figured out how to order on the tablet, grabbed a cup for my drink, and went to the soda fountain to grab a Coke Zero. The drink was flat and full of a lot of foam..Diet Coke, same thing. Tried the Dr. Pepper...nothing but water. I just paid $3 for an unpalatable drink. When I finally was able to get the attention of an employee in the kitchen (interrupting the loud conversation taking place), she looked like she couldn't be bothered--and she wasn't. Nobody came out to the soda dispenser the 90 minutes I was there hanging out. Our food finally came out and it looked yummy. Korean BBQ burger, bacon avocado burger, two fries and a maple snickerdoodle milkshake. The fries and the milkshake were really tasty, but the burgers were nothing special. My daughter's burger looked like it only had half a bun and it was soggy; my avocado bacon burger was flavorless. This was a waste of $38 that included a tip that I now regret leaving. I've never gotten the hype about Shake Shack. We went today because two other options fell through. Sweetie got a bacon cheeseburger and liked it. I got their special bourbon bacon cheeseburger. Baby K got chicken bites. We shared a couple of fries (they only have one size, a decent sized medium.) The burgers were squished and almost indistinguishable. I thought they were very small for the price and quality. Baby K didn't like the chicken, so I ate it. What there was of it- a six piece portion was almost entirely breading. The chicken itself, enough for maybe two McNuggets, was mushy and barely a step above the over processed McD's stuff. The fries were decent. I've wanted to try Shake Shack for a while, and had a chance after an event in Pinecrest. I placed an online order and walked over to pick it up. The online ordering was pretty easy, and pick up was pretty quick. This is one of those places where you can rack up a bill pretty quickly, with lots of add ons and customizations offered. I had a veggie burger and fries, always appreciate a veggie option. The burger smelled.... odd. Tasted great, but the smell was a bit off putting. The add on toppings were not very generous - I certainly did not get $2 worth of avocado, and I don't think they put lettuce on at all. I requested utensils and ketchup, and they did not make it into the bag. The burger runs small for the price. Fries were good and a generous portion, but i'm not sure I'd pay $13 for a burger and fries on a regular basis. We were on our way to Swenson's and my wife said that she "craved" some Shake Shack. So we find ourselves in Shake Shack for the second-time ever. So half-way to Swenson's, I pull into a parking lot and head the opposite direction to head-over to Shake Shack in Pinecrest. Soo glad we did! The food, like before tasted great! The workers are friendly and accommodating and the place is kept clean and welcoming. The beverage and condiment bar was well-kept and everything was in-stock. We ended up getting a follow-up order of their bacon cheese fries as it was just so good. I also tried their 6 Ct nuggets (BTW, it was a nice surprise to find 7 in there! ). Those were gone quick, so quick I forgot to grab a photo. Similar to Chick-fil-A, in-terms of appearance, but much crunchier and a bit bigger. The BBQ sauce threw me off tho! It's less tangy, and it's not your Sweet Baby Ray's. Maybe I'll try some honey mustard next time. Maybe some people like the BBQ ‍ Anyways, again, we will be coming back. After the carry out service I received, I couldn't enjoy my food. I went to pickup my food which was ready right on time. They had terrible figuring out my name then handed me my bag with my shake. I assumed the straw was in the bag because that's what mcds and most restaurants do. I noticed most people's bags were folded shut but mine was not. I figured maybe they didn't have a chance since I picked it up on time. I didn't even look in the bag and it's raining outside. I just wanted to get back after a long day to eat my food (also containing my sisters food who wasn't present). I dig in the bag to hopefully find the straw and all I feel is sauce and grease. Omg! So I turn on the light and look in the bag and there is my food just out in the open. No covers?? How is this a to go order but my food is open. Then I realize there is no straw. How am I supposed to drink my shake? Also there is no kbbq sauce to go with my kbbq fries. Also!!! There are no napkins which I requested. I was pretty pissed about this upon arriving back to my hotel. It was almost closing time anyway. I was too upset to call the restaurant and nothing to do about it anyway. Experience ruined. I love Shake Shack! I don't love this one so much. In fact, I am only giving it 3 stars because of past experiences with Shake Shack and the friendliness of the cashier. The kitchen staff is totally out of control and unsupervised. Lots of yelling and socializing. Meanwhile, my fries were horrible and kitchen staff were constantly walking through the restaurant and socializing and yelling. It made for a very uncomfortable dining experience. The restaurant was also dirty. If this was the first Shake Shack I ever went to, I don't think I would go back. Just a disappointing experience and pretty obvious the staff doesn't care about guests and is here to socialize. Ridiculous that Shake Shack wants me to email my review and receipt to them. I really want to put more effort into this after a bad experience. Read all the other reviews. You know this outlet is performing poorly and has little or no effective management and that the kitchen staff is running wild. Another great set of burgers. Wow, the flavor and freshness is worth the visit. Not to mention, the burgers are out together well and stay together. They appear to be implementing good COVID practices. I just don't recommend the beer. My tall draft tasted like it was waiting to be poured since pre-COVID and it came 3/4 full in a paper cup that wasn't big enough for a tall beer in the first place. Milkshakes are better anyway. After trying this place 1 time, it's already overtaken 5G as my 2nd favorite fast food / fast casual burger. Sorry 5G, you're #3 now. The food is really good. Especially the burgers. I had the double Shack Burger, fries with cheese, a large Arnold Palmer, and a Triple Ripple Concrete. I have zero complaints about any of the food. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and had a fantastic grilled crust. The fries were crinkle cut and crispy, even while topped with their white cheese sauce. The concrete was fantastically thick with plenty of PB. My cashier was friendly, and knew what she was doing on the register. The other cashier looked like she was having some problems. In her defense, her customer was ordering for 4 people and had a complicated order. Two things prevented this place from being 5 star. First, it's quite expensive, despite being really good food. My order came to 22$. #HolyCrap! My other issue is this place a bit small. There was a line 10+ people long waiting just to get in the door...and after placing orders, people had to stand and wait for a table to open up. We just had to try out the first Shake Shack in Ohio when it opened. We've had it once before in Baltimore and thought it was good. We went on a Friday night and it was busy! You had to wait to sit down and get a table. I had a double cheeseburger, it was good, but huge! I didn't realize how filling it would be or would have just got a single. I also got the cheese fries which were the bomb, I'll definitely keep springing for those. And then lastly I split a brownie shake - also tasty! This was my second visit to this location. I didn't enjoy my first visit; I am a vegetarian. I am not a fan (I hate them) of veggie burger patties, nor do I care for mushroom burgers (even more disgusting than the veggie patties). Still, I like plant-based burgers and can appreciate veggies in a bun (lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, onion, pickles). A friend was visiting from California, and I had the boys (two male toy poodles in a stroller) with me, so we thought this would be perfect. Not in the least. The menu options are sparse for someone like me, a vegetarian who hates mushrooms and finds veggie patty burgers disgusting. (Black bean burgers are fine.) I ordered fries and fried pickles. There was so much grease in/on the fried pickles that I used three napkins per pickle to soak out the grease, and the container was filled with grease. The fries were not nasty or greasy at all. I work in the Pinecrest Plaza, Shake Shack is conveniently located in walking distance. The food is great, the service is less than lukewarm. I typically order at the register, however, the last few times, I've opted for the self serve. The staff members are so dry with customers and barely offer a smile or a free "hello". I've placed orders online to limit the interaction, hoping someone at the pick up counter will make eye contact, acknowledge my presence or even offer a warm welcome. I've decided it's not worth the negative energy to return after today. My energy is depleted when I leave. I'm just a drop in the bucket of your customers, however, this one drop won't patronize the establishment at Pinecrest. Hopefully, another location will offer welcoming service - if not, this is the BEST way to save money and share my experience with others. read more
