Shopping definitely worked up an appetite.. we decided to try Shake Shack.. ordering was easy, although you don't speak directly with a person it's all done via the tablets they have on display. Only thing about that was they needed to be wiped down. Very greasy and many fingerprints from all the customers touching. That turned me off a bit.. I ordered the Smoke Shack.. this burger was a double stack and included cheeseburger topped with applewood smoked bacon, chopped cherry peppers, and signature ShackSauce... it was pretty good. Way too many peppers though, I would like them on the side next time. I also had a malt chocolate milkshake, it was amazing 10th of 10 on the shake. My daughter had a cheeseburger with lettuce/tomatoes etc. it also had the shack sauce... she was not impressed with the sauce at all. The burger was cooked well but some how messy. Overall food was decent we paid about 40 something dollars which was steep for 2 burgers and 2 drinks. The atmosphere was cool. We don't have any interactions with the staff so I can't speak on that.. now that I think about it they don't even greet. Because we did takeout, I can't speak on service or ambiance, but I'd love to come in soon. I ordered the Shack Stack well done and a side of crinkle cut fries. The verdict? I absolutely loved my burger. The mushroom was so juicy and flavorful, filled with cheese. It's one of the least tidy these Shake Shack that I've been to! I've been trying to call the management to order no salt but no one answered in the 4 times I called! There's no way to order no salt online so I tried to call the management or someone there to not put salt on my order. This place is getting three stars mostly because it does have one of the better tasting burgers, but I have gotten other locations to at least answer their phone in case there was a problem or a change to my order. I called another location to see if there was a way for them to alert the management or someone but he said in the times that he's called them previously they have not answered. The restaurant was extremely clean, we got greeted upon arrival- you know I love that! And it was practically empty. I decided to get a shack burger and split some fries with my sister. The total came out to $26 with some drinks. A little pricier than I'd like for the small burger but it was DELICIOUS! We had an employee bring us our food and he was so courteous. All of the employees didn't really say much but they all seemed in good spirits. They rely mostly on self-service computer screens where you order, customize and pay for your meal. But if you need help, employees are available to assist. I usually prefer thicker patty burgers but if I wanted cheap thin burgers, I think SteaknShake is half the price and open late at night. I had one of the specialty double burgers for $12. The only reason I came was because I had a coupon that came gave you a chicken sandwich with a purchase. Otherwise I would've spend $20+ on two sandwiches. The burger itself was good because it was covered in sauce. I wouldn't be able to tell how fresh the meat was due to the sauce. The chicken sandwich was disappointing. Of all the Shake Shacks I've been to, I think I can safely say this one is my favorite. Its prime location at Perimeter certainly helps, but the exterior and interior spoke to me. Giving this location a 5 to make up for some bad reviews. I travel 35mins to come to this location 1-2x a month. This location is quite busy, so expect to wait in line and to be instructed to "keep the door closed". Once at the front of the line I never feel rushed and the cashier is very patient with my plus 1 who will ask a million questions. There's nothing cheap about the food, but it's worth every single cent! The burgers are always juicy and perfectly charred, the fries crispy and though I'd preferred more than the standard 3 pumps of cheese, I have no issue with paying extra. To my surprise, they have the best check nuggets/tenders. Last time I took an order to go! If you have time, enjoy the canned rose. Social distancing, and face masks are a must. First time here, and it was a pleasant visit. Many items to choose from when you walk in. To your right, is the menu on the wall. I love it. :-) My husband and I were headed in the mall, but he had just got off of work, so he wanted to get a quick meal. I had a single with cheese and my husband had a double smoke shack. There isn't any combos, so we ordered fries and lemonade. The food was hot and delicious. I didn't eat all of my burger because I like mine well done, and it had some pink in the middle. OMG! When I tell you this is an amazing team, I mean it. Everyone was so attentive, knocking orders out left and right. The manager treated every guest as if they were at a 5-star restaurant. I promise, it felt like we were at a place where your own server is always right by your side. The manager checked on tables, did refills, and made sure everyone had what they needed. He had his team doing the same, and it was truly unbelievable. We were in awe. I don't live in the area, but I would come back anytime this team is working. You honestly couldn't tell they were dealing with any issues when we entered. They only had 1 or 2 computers working, and the manager was at the register. It was a Saturday night right after the mall closed, so it should've been chaotic. But this phenomenal team made sure everyone was taken care of. I brought in 12 people by myself, so you can imagine how busy it was. I even walked up to Mr. Baptiste to ask for corporate's contact info. I'm Black, and I told him that my family and I had never witnessed a restaurant run by a Black person with an all Black staff working this seamlessly. And sadly, that's true in many places. But seeing this group of individuals made me so proud. They were working that restaurant to its full potential, and your company should be beyond proud of who's representing them. We were thrilled to see people enjoying their work and giving it their all. There were no complaints, and we will definitely return when we're in the area again. The chicken sandwich far exceeds the burgers in taste. The milkshakes are milkshakes, and that's fine. The contrast from this cool logo, and building, and the reputation/hype vs the food that is delivered is vast in my opinion. Additionally, where are the napkins, straws, ketchup, mustard, mayo? The self service stand is empty with no explanation. Because it's so barren it seems deliberate rather than just being unattended. But why leave empty napkin dispensers if you're going to leave them empty and just hand them out on request. Also why no naps with my food then? Besides that the restaurant is clean and the staff seems pretty excellent So... One point off for food being pretty meh in the smash burger category. Not all Shake Shacks are created equal. Our experience at this location at Perimeter Mall was OK. Not bad, not great. In the Atlanta area, currently, my favorite Shake Shack location is the one in Old Fourth Ward. This location lacks the cleanliness, service, ordering kiosks, and spacious covered patio with games (Jenga, table tennis) that the O4W location has. Deficiencies aside, this mall location is serviceable and about on par with the original Atlanta location in Buckhead. A quick chronology of the Shake Shack locations open in Atlanta at the time of writing this review: 1. The Shops Buckhead Atlanta - opened September 30, 2014 2. Perimeter Mall - opened October 24, 2016 3. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport - opened September 25, 2018 4. Old Fourth Ward / Atlanta BeltLine - April 13, 2019 You can find this Shake Shack on the "restaurant row" side of Perimeter Mall, where valet parking is located, on the Ashford Dunwoody Road side of the mall in between Maggiano's and Cheesecake Factory. This Shake Shack has both indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor seating is limited to only three umbrella-covered picnic tables. Inside, the setup is fast-casual. My boyfriend and I went by here on a Sunday afternoon around 3pm. Like other Shake Shack locations, the food quality is on point! What was great about this location was that they also had patio seating with umbrellas! So we got to enjoy our food outside with fresh air without overheating. I would say that if you plan to eat at this location, if the line is long, definitely order for pick up via the app! There won't be any extra time added for your order. The wait in line was easily 10-15 minutes and the wait for food was about 15-20 minutes. They were extremely busy!! But that was also no surprise being that it was a Sunday afternoon and for most people, the only time they have to stop by the mall. I do want to give a huge shoutout to the staff member who continuously came outside to check and see how we were doing!! I've never been to a Shake Shack where one of their staff checked in to see how folks were enjoying their meals.
