    I'm always amazed at the concept and execution of shaved ice! Simply based on what it looks like,…read moreit seems like this had to of originated along time ago when somebody realize the way to monetize the old yellow snow trick. That said, they've done a great job of making it so this is now the treat that our kids want during the summertime. This place is open from noon until 8 PM Monday through Saturday in the summertime. They operate out of a small boxy stand in the chalet village and they really have the whole shaved ice thing down. Serving up shaved ice in small and large sizes, which are equivalent to huge and really huge. We didn't count the number of flavors, but it's a pretty expensive list. It ranges from the expected to some pretty interesting combinations. One of her little dudes got a combination of tigers blood (strawberry and coconut, I think) and marshmallow. Our other little guy went with the more classic bubblegum flavor... It's still puzzles me about the allure of the flavor of gum. I suppose this is probably something we should celebrate for as long as we can - bubblegum can only hold its mystique do so long! Both enjoyed their choice and by the end had a lovely sugary slurry with enough "energy" to power them for about 2 hours of straight running! Do you remember the Saturday night live where Mike Myers place a kid who is given a Pepsi and a snickers bar, and that is able to tow a car home...that's basically what went down! The best thing about this place, other than the carb loading, is the combination of pleasant folks working here as well as the fact that the small (read huge) is only three dollars. Anymore, it's honestly very difficult to find anything that has such a high joy to cost ratio! If you haven't checked this place out, you should probably do so... You will be your kids hero more than you already are!

When we come, the kids usually get a rainbow snow cone. It's become a summer staple! Please give this local stand a chance! You won't be disappointed.
