I met Sonia who is an absolute angel. She is so dedicated and cares so much about your happiness as a client. Her advice on how to color treat my hair was sincere, honest and not geared towards over-selling me on anything. Over time I have found most of the women working here share that attitude. They will flat out say hey I don't think you should trim right now or I don't think this will work for you... you have no idea how much this level of honesty and integrity matters in the beauty world and that's why I religiously wait to come here every-time I'm in Texas to get my hair done. The salon carries high quality and professional Matrix hair products especially the dye that I have found suits my hair a lot. The first time Sonia did my hair color, my friends and family wouldn't stop complimenting me for weeks. I am disgusted. Sonia should not be allowed anywhere near a thread. She butchered my eyebrows like she was in a rush to ruin someone's face. I came in with my brows brushed and filled, CLEARLY told her to just clean around them -- and she still went ahead and ripped off half my brow. It's not even a mistake -- it's pure carelessness. She wouldn't stop yapping while working, and her hands felt like sandpaper. If she really has 16 years of experience, then she's clearly learned nothing in that time except how to destroy people's faces while running her mouth. Bharti and Sushma are so much better. Sonia? Zero listening, zero care, zero skill. And now I have to show up to a photoshoot next week with these pencil-thin excuses for eyebrows. Look at the attached photos. First is before, second is the disaster she left me with. This is not threading -- this is vandalism. If this is the standard she sets as a manager, then I genuinely feel bad for anyone walking into this salon trusting they'll be treated with care. I wouldn't let her touch my face again if she were the last threader on earth. And if that wasn't enough, while doing my brows, she had the nerve to make disgusting comments about Nepal -- saying a temple "smelled so bad she couldn't stand there." Waste experience I had the worst experience threading my eyebrows Very poor at listening to customers' needs (not talking about all employees, but about the lady (who attended to me) I initially set my expectations about eyebrow threading (like shape and thickness). The lady changed my eyebrows shape. The people working there does not have any basic knowledge of hair cutting. Took my daughter to cut her bangs. They messed up so much. The lenght of hair and the quantity of hair from both side was uneven, and overall cutting was looking so ugly. They didn't shape the bangs properly. They are very unprofessional. Going there for hair cut is a complete mess of your hair cut as well as waste of money. They should completely shut down their hair cutting section if they don't have professional people. I came here at 4:15 on a Thursday afternoon to get my eyebrows done. I think the earlier in the week and the day, the faster you'll get seen! I was seated at 4:30, but the sweet lady who was going to do my eyebrows had to help someone else, so I didn't end up leaving until 5pm. The work was excellent and I was very happy with how I looked on my way out. They were very busy as I was leaving! I entered my request for eyebrow wax & tint on the sign-in. I've been here before & returned because the price is great. I verbally reiterated the services I had written down and included the appropriate shade for my eyebrows. When the technician asked again if I wanted lip wax, too, I let her upsell me. When almost finished with the eyebrow wax, she started to use the threading method. I physically recoiled. I had seen the other technician place the thread in her mouth using this method. I am averse to sharing bodily fluids at first introduction. She tried to justify, but I told her I didn't care how it looked. I thought I would rather tweeze any strays at home later. It was quick and not expensive at all. The shape was decent. I was happy with the outcome. The part that makes it a zero star, hence the one star is the sanitary part of the waxing experience. They gave me a bath towel wrap-- I was itchy the moment after I put it on. The towels were dirty or at least it felt very dirty. When she started applying the wax, she used no gloves whatsoever. Like seriously?! Gross! I don't know what you touched before me and now you're applying things on my skin, my body with bare hands that you probably didn't wash your hands prior to. I have came to this salon regularly since I moved into the area. I have to say I have had a different experience every single time I have been here. I feel like the employees are always changing and you only see a few familiar faces regularly. The place is very clean and well kept. It is also organized, they have a sign in sheet that they call out names from in order - first come. They offer a lot of services such as threading, waxing, haircuts for women and men, hairstyling, hair coloring, facials, oil scalp treatments etc. The prices are reasonable compared to other salons in the area. I have had many great experiences here but also many unpleasant ones. I have gotten threaded, waxed, and I've also had my hair done here twice before. When it comes to threading, it really depends on how much the employee listens to you. Some of the ladies do a great job at listening and ask questions and give you exactly what you ask for while others are busy chatting on their personal cell phones. I have experienced some ladies putting their phone on speaker in the wax rooms and talk to their family and friends while waxing the customer. This is very unprofessional and makes the customer feel awkward. Instead, they should be using that time to concentrate on the customer and give them their full attention. I've never had a problem with getting waxed here but I came here 2 days before I was going out of the country to get my arms and armpits waxed and I had the worst experience. The lady burned my skin and ripped the top layer of my skin off. It was stinging and burning for over a week and very red. I had to go out of the country for a wedding and I got asked about the redness and burn marks on my skin everywhere I went. It was so uncomfortable to even wear clothes that touched my arms and armpits because of the pain. This happened once and I've never seen the lady there before so I am assuming she was new. Other than that one experience, they've been pretty good. I guess the experience just depends on who you get, a new employee or a professional. I have gotten my hair done here twice and the first time I loved it and I got exactly what I asked for. The second time I absolutely hated it. The lady who was doing my hair tried to convince me that it looked nice but it was not something I liked on myself. After telling the lady that I did not ask for this specific hairstyle, she got upset and raised her voice at me continuing to tell me that it looks fine instead of trying to solve the issue. I was very shocked at the behavior as it made me feel very upset and uncomfortable. Finally, another lady came to fix it up after but it was very time consuming. Overall, some employees are very sweet and caring while others are the complete opposite. Everyone needs to be trained like the ones that take the time to listen to what you are asking for and give the customers their full attention. I would recommend going here if you know exactly who is good at what they're doing (they don't wear name tags so I wouldn't be able to recognize them on here), otherwise it is a scary experience because you don't know what you're in for until it's too late. read more

I washed my hair yesterday after trying a new conditioner that left my hair very dry. Since I planned on leaving my deep conditioner in my hair overnight, I decided to find a Salon that offered scalp massages. I use to get them all the time when I lived in Colorado so I wanted to start getting them on a regular basis. I honestly didn't expect them to be opened but I called and the receptionist said they were open until 8:00. I told the receptionist that my hair has already been washed and that I had conditioner in my hair. She quoted me $15.00 for a 15 minute scalp massage and I told her I would be there in 45 minutes. When I arrived, I gave the receptionist my name, and confirmed the service that I wanted. She told me to have a seat and someone would be with me shortly. I waited about 15 minutes and then Ash walked up, greeted me and walked me back to the chair. I had my hair in a bun with conditioner so I took my bun down and her face was priceless. Now that I think back to our greeting she stared at my hair as if she never had a client come in with freshly washed hair. My hair is thick and curly so that could be it too. LOL She then proceeds to get a mask for her face and gloves for her hands. I have never seen this at a Salon before. I'm assuming the conditioner in my hair was too strong for her to inhale. She heated some coconut oil and put the oil in sections of my hair and massaged it. The scalp massage was ok but definitely not worth another visit. After putting the oil in my hair and massaging for about ten minutes she grabs a towel to put over my hair. The towel was not hot and not even warm enough to tell it was there. I just looked at her like what's the towel for. She kept it on top of my hair for about one minute. After she finished, I told her not to worry about rinsing the conditioner out my hair. I put my hair back in a bun. Before leaving, I got my eyebrows threaded for $5.00. She did a good job so no complaints. She walked me to the register and the receptionist quoted a different price. I explained to the receptionist with Ash present that I called ahead and she told me the price would be $15.00 for 15 minute scalp massage. She apologized and changed the price to $15.00. I'm confused because the brochure said $15.00 for a 15 minute scalp massage but she wanted to charge me $20.00. Ash tells me that if I want to come back in the future for a scalp massage, I should come in with dry hair. Well I definitely won't be coming back. I would have to wash my hair, air dry at home, get the scalp massage, go back home wash my hair again and air dry. No thanks but I don't have that much time in a day to wash and dry my hair twice. Overall, I like my eyebrows but I won't be coming back for any of their services. read more

I really love this little hole in the wall salon. I just go for eyebrow threading and sometimes to get my upper lip waxed. I definitely want to try more services. My only critique is the website is a little off putting. I'm glad there are reviews here because otherwise I would not have come in. The wax they use is chocolate (yum!) and the pricing is very good for the work they do. As I said above, I've only gotten my eyebrows threaded and lip waxed here. Horrible place, I went here for a haircut. The lady was very talkative and did very bad haircut. She charged me $48 for a layer haircut and said your hair is curly so you don't need blow dry.
