My roadside service completely dropped the ball and never put in my order for a tow, so by the time the tow truck showed up, it was too late for them to check my car that day. I cannot thank the team at Zim's enough for how far above and beyond they went to help my family!…read more We are not from the area and found ourselves stranded with a flat tire and three young kids pretty close to closing time on a Friday afternoon. They went out of there way to search their used inventory after learning we had exhausted all local options and no one had the very specific tire we needed. They then gave me a ride to the ATM to get cash and kept their team at the shop past closing to make sure we could get back on the road for our 5 hour ride to get our kids home. They are wonderful people and seemed genuinely happy to help, even though I'm sure they wanted to get their weekend started. Their team was kind, professional, and knowledgeable and we highly recommend them!

I want everyone to know that Zim's Tire is the most honest and caring automotive repair business…read morethat a person could ever find. I have taken all my car's to Zim's for over 15 years and have always been more than satisfied with the results. Wayne and his team always explain the issues and options before conducting a repair. I trust them with every vehicle I've owned from a Ford Ranger to a Mercedes Benz AMG and a few race cars in between. They take care of my vehicles like the vehicles are their own. The people at Zim's are not afraid to tell you things you don't want to hear. They will not compromise the quality of a repair or their service. I've read some of the other Yelp reviews (especially the negative ones) and I can tell you Zim's is honest and will not take short cuts. They will not perform a substandard repair. When you ask, they will refuse your business. If you want proof, stop by. There is a large backlog of people waiting to get repairs. On Friday, 4/9/2020, all 5 lifts were in use and two vehicles on the lot were also getting work done. Everyone in our area trusts Zim's. I highly recommend Zim's and promise you that you will be glad you went there.

We had such a great experience with Cal's Auto Repair -- specifically Rob!…read more He fixed my son's car without any hassle or haggling, which I deeply appreciate. No games, no inflated estimates, no pressure tactics. Just straightforward honesty. And the price? More than fair. I walked away feeling like we were treated exceptionally well. His communication was excellent! He explained everything clearly, kept us updated, and made sure we understood what was going on without talking down to us. That kind of transparency builds trust fast, especially when it comes to your kid's car. When it comes to my son's car, I do not gamble on integrity. Rob earned our trust!

I drove it the 15 miles home and went to pull the tires off and found that all 20 of them were tightened well beyond what my electric impact was capable of handling which was a first. Keep in mind they were the last ones to touch the wheels. The owner gave a complete BS reason that didn't include someone completely not paying attention to what they were doing when tightening down the lug nuts. To suggest the lugs tighten on their own after a short drive is insulting. There is a reason why it's common practice to retorque lug nuts after 100 miles of driving. It's because they loose! After two attempts to get someone to remove them I dropped it off. When I showed up after it being there a week I was hit with $130 bill for their removal. Any reputable shop would have NEVER considered charging for a follow up to a repair THEY did. I'm giving up the low rating because of the dishonesty and lack of integrity. I definitely recommend other places. They came recommended as a closer VW mechanic, but I'll be making the drive to Hagerstown or Morgantown in the future.

While I have mixed feelings about the local dealership, my car WAS in their parking lot, so I figured I'd call them first to see about getting it fixed. Called them first thing Monday morning and they immediately informed me they wouldn't be able to look at it until the following Monday; when I mentioned that it might be a transmission issue, they said they only had one transmission tech, and he wouldn't be able to look at it for three weeks. NOT HAPPENING! So that's how I ended up at Jim's Transmission. To be honest, Jim's looks a little shady wedged in an alley between the two directions of Industrial Boulevard, but the guys working there were nothing but professional. Chances are, when you call you'll have to leave a message because they don't have a dedicated service writer or anyone to answer the phone, but they got back to me within an hour or so. Calling on Monday morning, they were able to have me in on Wednesday morning. By Wednesday afternoon they called me with a diagnosis and a quote, and by early Thursday they had it fixed, for exactly what they quoted. I've been going to dealerships for my service for the past several years and I honestly forgot that this level of no-nonsense mechanic existed. I'm thankful for the work they did and how quickly and affordably they were able to get me back on the road. If you're looking for a mechanic in Cumberland (especially for transmission issues) don't write off Jim's before you talk to them.

A water pump replacement should not take more than an hour or two, and if they were not going to work on my car until the next day, why they had to keep my vehicle? They charged $200 for a simple water pump replacement and had my car for two days!! I have been told that their priority is passing cars through inspection whether they pass or not, as they receive a commission for passing cars through. I would not take a scooter to this place and neither should you. After this awful experience, I was recommended by MD Ave Auto (who inspects vehicles with a fine tooth comb) to take my vehicle to Quality Auto in Lavale MD. They went out of their way to fit me in and called as soon as they were done with the job to let me know my vehicle was ready (within two hours). The professionalism at MD Ave Auto and Quality in Lavale far exceed the service I received at Bel Air Service Station.
